I'm just going to ask, I know there have been a number of posts saying that it'd be preferred to stick with the more normal species, no issue there.
My only question would it still fit this if I were to make a weasel, but maybe lean a little more towards neutral than towards bad?

That would probably be fine. Vermin can be neutral or evil, if I recall correctly.
