Attack!!! Attack!!!
Azalea saw the stiletto coming on a dangerous path to her head only moments before it struck. She was too late to do anything but fling up a scaly paw, which the dangerous dagger-like weapon went right through. Blood began to flow from the injury and, before she could do anything else, she felt a sharp pain across her left side.
Renny's blade hadn't done anything too serious, merely leaving a fine line of blood across her side. But her left paw was absolutely useless, pouring blood, and she glared hatred at the two otters before she lunged.
The lizard slashed with both the useless paw and the good one, kicking out and snapping at both. Reaching for a katana, she then slashed madly at the two.

Rogg was disappointed that the stiletto had not found the monitor's skull, but destroying her paw was possibly enough to give the mercenary the upper paw. The young otter jumped back form the furious monitor was struck by Renny's blade, this gave Rogg a vital second that he needed to recover his wits to an extent. The big otter held his left arm up placing pressure on the ghastly wound with his right paw, attempting to staunch the flow of blood, he knew he must bandage it soon, or the damage might be permanent. This gave him even more motivation to finish the battle sooner, rather then later.
Not bothering to replace his dagger he advanced upon the monitor when she began to flail out her claws and her gleaming blade. This was apparently her last moments, the final stage of the fight. Rogg was no longer in the fray for the excitement of it, the monitor was a tough creature and she was a threat to the otters' lives. It was time for her to die. With his twin blades flourishing like a windmill of death, he attacked the lizard, not minding the slashes that her katana inflicted on his large form, that was unnecessary, simply attacking was the mercenary otter's tactic, simple attack. Rogg swing his blades all around at the monitor, not aiming his blows precisely, letting them fall where they may, he was only providing the power that they needed to inflict damage on the scaly body.
With Renny in the fight now, the lizard would fall soon, she must, Rogg did not know how much longer he could keep up the furious attacks up. The young otter was starting to not being able to feel his wounded arm, and that was not good. This must end soon or he might not survive this single battle....

Renny's attack hit home. It cut neatly down the lizard's side, leaving a fine trail of blood. Rogg's blade went through the lizard's paw rendering it nearly useless, but the Lizard would not give up. It came back at Renny and Rogg with all it had!
The Lizard's powerful paws sung viciously at Renny. He ducked the right blow, but held up his blade for the other. The handle would have rammed right into the Lizard's injured paw. Rogg, brought out his twin blades and gave the Lizard all he had! Swinging with no purpose, but to kill with invasive power. Renny chose to be skillful, more than powerful to save his energy. He used his blade to ward off the Lizard's snapping jaws, but one of the clawed heindpaws gashed Renny across his right leg.
Renny snarled in pain. The cut was not deep, but it stung. He could tell it wasn't life threatening like the Lizard's paw or Rogg's neck. He lept back for a mere second, only to come back at the Lizard's other side while Rogg attacked at it's font. Renny expertly swung his blade toward the Lizard's side; right between the ribs. Hopefully, his input in the battle, would bring it to a halt and they could all catch up on healing themselves before they all died.

Rogg went on the attack yet again, his blade flashing quickly up and down as he attempted to wound the scaly beast. Azalea roared as the slashes were easily deflected off her thick scales; her paw, which had been run through with Rogg's dagger, was stinging and burning and it was all she could do to avoid dropping to the ground with pain.
And then she felt a searing pain between her ribs. She whirled and noticed Renny's blade thrust through her thick scales. The blade hadn't gone too deep yet, and she jerked to the other side, ripping free of the cold steel weapon. As blood began to pour thickly from that gash as well, Azalea knew she was going to die if she didn't do something.
Ah...although it was not 'sportsmanlike'-not that the lizard cared-she was going to use the move successfully utilized by many in-danger beasts-playing dead; and she could do it most convincingly, able to fool the smartest of beasts.
With a vicious growl of rage, she lunged at the form of Rogg and then stopped, toppling to the ground like an ancient pillar, worn by time and the elements of nature. With a thunk, a cloud of dust rose from the ground around her form. Her yellow eyes closed and she forced her breathing to slow.
She was experienced at this and she could slow the breaths so completely that they came about once every fifteen seconds in short, shuddering gulps of air while still managing to get enough oxygen. Her second trick was a greater one; by dint of much practice, she slowed her heartbeat a little, making it seem like she was slowly dying.
On the inside, a sense of achievement filled her. The otters would bend down to their new prey-and the vicious, deadly claws of the monitor would shoot up at the necks of the otters, hopefully cutting the jugulars of both.
Of course, she didn't do it yet. It would take time for the otters to start to believe the ruse.
After a few moments, she began to breathe harder, as though attempting to get enough air into her lungs-just like a dying beast would do.
It would work. She was sure of it. At least....99% sure.

Frell, this lizard's scales were tough. Rogg was becoming tired of the monitor's refusal to die [not really, just for the post], she was one of the toughest creatures the mercenary otter had ever fought with, the scars from her attacks would remind him of this his entire life. The toughest battle he had ever fought was versus a marten warlord who had not paid the mercenary. That fight was nothing to compare with this one. Normally Rogg could dispatch opponents with immense ease, but never had he fought with a monstrous lizard. However, the training and experience of long seasons as a mercenary were apparently paying off, the long hours of sword practice, the far, not so fun swims, the harsh words of his sergeants when he did not execute his assignments properly, they were showing their value now. He hoped they would pay off, the otter was getting quite worn down.
Fortunately for Rogg and Renny, her seemingly infinite energy was apparently waning, good for the mercenary otter especially. His wounded arm was starting to go numb, if he did not bandage the tear in his flesh soon, he might not have an arm to bandage. His and Renny's teamwork was looking as if it would finally win the day for the two friends. Then the turn of fates was complete; the monitor collapsed to the ground in a heap. Rogg felt the urge to walk up to the defeated and pin her to the ground, but he was too tired, the big otter bent double panting hard and string to staunch the flow of blood with pressure from his undamaged paw. This was certainly odd, normally the otter would have gone up and finished his opponent without further thought, but this monitor, she was a strong fighter, it would be a shame to destroy such a promising warrior, besides; he could not move if he wanted to. The fight had taken much out of the otter, he could not muster up enough energy to even walk over to the fallen lizard. Luckily, he was close to his knapsack so the wounded mercenary rummaged around in it for his cloth wrapping that he kept to bandage wounds. He took the material and began wrapping it around his arm grimacing in pain as her spoke to Renny. "Leave the tralk, she's done. Come and help me to the water so I can clean this proper" Rogg looked up from his task, all of the former hate gone from his face, a calm but pained expression on his whiskerey face, and waited for Renny to come and help him over to the stream [if there is a convenient stream]......

Renny watched as his blade cut into the lizard's ribs and the lizard retracted to keep the wound small. Rogg's attack combined with Renny's thrust, brought the lizard to it's knees. It toppled to the ground and stayed there. It's breathing slowly decreasing.
Renny brought his blade down; it's tip still pointed toward the dying creature. Something about the way the lizard collapsed didn't still well with Renny, and the way it's breathing slowed down....Sure the breathing was hard and deep like a beast who couldn't find the air to breathe, but it seemed controlled. Like it was being forced to stop. Renny limped a few steps away. He didn't want to be in the range of the lizard's arms, just in case his feeling was right.....
Pain lanced through Renny's right leg. The wound, as he thought before, was not deep, but it sure was painful. Renny gingerly bent down and wiped his blade on the grass, then sheathed the blade in it's case. He turned to look at Rogg.
Rogg was bent over his pack, grabbing a piece of cloth to bandage his arm. Renny saw that the wound was bad and needed to be patched up now, or serious consequences could occur. Rogg looked up at Renny, his face left of the heat of battle, and now feeling the weariness and pain of his wounds.
"Leave the tralk, she's done. Come and help me to the water so I can clean this proper"
Renny limped over to his new friend and brought his arm around him as if to support him as the walk/limped to the river tributary(yes, there was one) by the now recked camp cite.
"Aye matey, just a lean on mea. Naw, dan't start a bandagin' yer arm wit' dat. I gots som' 'erbs and ails ta patc' dat up in me pac'. I gots da knowin' o' a 'ealer sa ye just a relax naw."
As they would walk to the river, Renny would whisper into Rogg's ear when they were far enough away from the dying lizard so if it was still alive it would not hear.
"Watc' da lizard matey. Som't'in' tells mea ol' gut dat it may nots be a dead mate.."

((Yeah, Rogg, it's the River Moss-there would definately be a source of water there. xD No offense meant, of course.))
Leave the tralk, she's done. Come and help me to the water so I can clean this proper.
This was the voice of Rogg. There wasn't much that Azalea could do, pretending to be dying as she was-and indeed, she felt if she kept this up, she actually would die. Ah well, it couldn't be helped; she would get away somehow and never fight two otters at the same time again.
Aye matey, just a lean on mea. Naw, dan't start a bandagin' yer arm wit' dat. I gots som' 'erbs and ails ta patc' dat up in me pac'. I gots da knowin' o' a 'ealer sa ye just a relax naw.
Somehow, she had an instinct that they weren't fooled by her disguise; she hadn't an idea why, but whatever. And as long as that was true, there was no point in keeping up this ruse. Not moving, she got ready to stand, but was stopped by the arrival of a harsh voice.
"I don't know what in the name o' Hellgates is goin' on here, so would somebeast care to inform me?"
Takeru Stormston the ferret was standing there, leaning leisurely against a tree while observing her surroundings with an obvious distaste. One eye was scarred shut, but the other was darting around, taking in the blood, the otters, and the monitor lizard.
"An' before you try to talk smart, I should inform you that I know a fight happened. What I don't know is why. So..."
She let the thought trail away in silence. Azalea lay on the earth, sensing it would be best to stay 'dead' for the sake of living a little longer. The ferret strode over and poked her with a foot before looking up and over to the otters; especially at Rogg's injuries.
She raised an eyebrow and motioned to Rogg. "You'd better get some healin' stuff on those wounds, an' pretty quick-like, cause if you don't, they're going to end up infected. Not that you didn't know that."

Rogg stood up, he had regained control of his breathing and was suppressing the pain in his arm mentally. The otter was still shaking slightly, but was starting to come out of his former battle rage. This certainly was a spot of luck for the mercenary, to get into a fight but have his matey be a healer, now that was good luck for him. Rogg had never been very lucky, always relying on skill and wits to succeed in his life. But he would take the luck. When they would make it over to the river the battered otter immersed his torn arm into the fast flowing water, cleaning it fairly well. With the blood washed away from the would he could see that the gash was not very deep, but quite long. The mercenary otter was about to have Renny clean it fully when the ferret made her appearance on the scene. Oh yotz, more trouble. In his tired state, the big otter might not have the energy to deal with the newcomer. He faintly hoped that she was not hostile, but being vermin, that was probably not the case.
"You'd better get some healin' stuff on those wounds, an' pretty quick-like, cause if you don't, they're going to end up infected. Not that you didn't know that."
Rogg jerked up in his surprise; since when did ferrets actually act nice? All of the vermin the otter had ever met were cruel creatures that lived by lying and back-stabbing their way through life; this was a strange turn of events. At least she was offering advice, not trying to kill them, he had seen infections before, how creatures had lost limbs just from not cleaning the wounds. Strange how the little things affected the the big picture. The surprised otter smiled cordially and spoke to the ferret. "Yeah, I suppose I should get this cleaned up. Um.... who are you exactly? I mean, it's just kind of weird for some ferret to randomly appear after a fight, but you know how it is.".....

Renny slowly limped with Rogg over to the river. Rogg submerse his arm in the water as Renny gingerly knelt down to pick up his pack and peek inside. His eyes scanned over what seemed to be a jumbled mess when he reached his paw in and pulled out at least 5 bandage wraps and a hunk of mixed vegetation. Renny looked at Rogg's injury as he pulled it out of the water. It appeared to be long, but not deep, but Renny wasn't taking any chances.
''Ere matey.' Renny said to Rogg. "Dese dandelion seeds will 'elp ye get rid o' da pain w'ile ah get some dockleaf on dat cut....." Renny broke off his train of thought as he saw a ferret standing next to a tree. In his mind he thought...W'at naw?...
"I don't know what in the name o' Hellgates is goin' on here, so would somebeast care to inform me?"
Renny said with a dignified tone, "Well, matey? W'at da ye t'ink 'append 'ere?"
"An' before you try to talk smart, I should inform you that I know a fight happened. What I don't know is why. So..."
Renny simply replied, " Ah did naw say ah was a talkin' smartlike. Ye did." Renny began dabbling the dressings in the juices of a dockleef so Rogg's wound would be able to absorb it faster as the ferret went over and kicked the fallen lizard. Renny winced but did not say a word about how he thought the lizard was still alive and left that for the ferret to find out first.
"You'd better get some healin' stuff on those wounds, an' pretty quick-like, cause if you don't, they're going to end up infected. Not that you didn't know that."
"Yeah, I suppose I should get this cleaned up. Um.... who are you exactly? I mean, it's just kind of weird for some ferret to randomly appear after a fight, but you know how it is.".....
Renny bit his tongue to hold back the response that he so dearly wished to give to the ferret, but he let Rogg's question be answered first, before he got them into even bigger trouble.
" Oye, matey." Renny addressed Rogg. " Stick ye arm out sa I can a put dis bandage on." Renny held out the bandage tightly to put the bandage firmly around Rogg's cut arm.

"Aye." came the non-committal reply. Tak fixed Rogg with a suspicious glare. "Takeru Stormston, mercenary and assassin for hire." Suddenly she paused. "'old on one minute. You don't think I'm what you call a goodbeast, right?" A laughing smirk appeared on the ferret's face.
Ah did naw say ah was a talkin' smartlike. Ye did.
Smirk turned into a frown. "Shut up." she growled simply before striding back over to the prone form of the monitor on the ground. "Well, mates. You should all know I'm not a goodbeast. So..." She bent down to Azalea's side and whispered something unintelligable in her ear.
The monitor lizard smirked and struggled to her paws before glaring at Rogg with hatred. Takeru merely looked amused at the otters' stupidity. "I hope you thought she wasn't dying." she said, a chuckle escaping her jaws as Azalea drew her katana.
Oye, matey. Stick ye arm out sa I can a put dis bandage on.
"No healing!" Takeru snapped angrily, drawing her gold-and-iron scimitar threatiningly and motioning to Azalea. "Now this is a fair fight. Two on two. One of each side wounded. If you'd be so kind as to drop your arm, otter, we can do a nice fair fight. Or would you prefer to cheat?"
A mocking smile appeared on her face. "Cheating's the same as forefeiting, with all the consequences of losing!" she sang happily before snapping back to her dangerous state and raising her blade.
Azalea drew her other katana, regardless of the pain burning in her paw, which had been stabbed through by Rogg.
The smile Tak was wearing widened. "You can go first!"

"Takeru Stormston, mercenary and assassin for hire." "'old on one minute. You don't think I'm what you call a goodbeast, right?"
Rogg rubbed his head wearily, was there ever any chance that thought the ferret was a so-called 'goodbeast'. In the otter's experience, there was no such thing as a goodbeast; everyone was a rat. He held out his arm for Renny to bandage it, and spoke sarcastically to the newcomer. "Well, great. I'm glad your here now. But you know what? I'm sick and tired of random things happening to me, so frell off" Rogg winced as the bandages touched his raw flesh. Just then the monitor got up. How had she been laying there, looking dead, and the next moment alive and looking ready to fight eluded the mercenary's mind. The young otter sighed, this was going to be longer then he had thought.
"No healing!""Now this is a fair fight. Two on two. One of each side wounded. If you'd be so kind as to drop your arm, otter, we can do a nice fair fight. Or would you prefer to cheat?"
Rogg sought the sky for inspiration, there must be an easier way to fight. Like if he had brought along a crazed badger to take care of the dirty work, the otter was normally the one to do the dirty work for other creatures who were to lazy to fight for themselves. He almost wished that he was one of these creatures for a moment, so rich one could just have creatures killed on a whim. But then he thought of how fun it was to do the killing personally. Yes, it was much better this way. The big otter smiled, this was still not a fair fight, being as otters are very large creatures, the two otters would prevail almost defiantly.
The big otter slowly rose and drew his blade, looking the monitor straight in her reptilian eyes as a sharp pain shot through his left arm. He then spoke in a level voice with a slightly weary undertone. "It's still not a fair fight." Then he added as an afterthought, "To you" With that he walked forward to meet the monitor, and when he was about two meters away he attacked with an over-pawed strike and smooth, powerful slashes at her chest and scaly stomach. The mercenary otter was pushing with everything he had left in his big body....

"Aye.Takeru Stormston, mercenary and assassin for hire. on one minute. You don't think I'm what you call a goodbeast, right?"
"Well, great. I'm glad your here now. But you know what? I'm sick and tired of random things happening to me, so frell off"
" Yer absolutely rig't dere matey." Renny added as a side comment. He didn't like this outspoken ferret one bit. Rogg had stuck his arm out so Renny draped the bandage across his arm and watched as Rogg winced as Renny wrapped the bandage tightly around his arm. " It'll stin' fur a bit mate but at least it'll stop da blood flow." Renny said as he finished off the knot.
"Shut up."
Renny, greatly disliking this ferret, decided to have fun with her and replied. "Says w'o?"
"Well, mates. You should all know I'm not a goodbeast. SoI hope you thought she wasn't dying."
Renny rolled his eyes. He was expecting something like this. He still had enough energy to fight on his injured leg, but he really wanted Rogg to be ready when they would have to finish it off. Renny hoped he was ready now...
"No healing!""Now this is a fair fight. Two on two. One of each side wounded. If you'd be so kind as to drop your arm, otter, we can do a nice fair fight. Or would you prefer to cheat?"
Renny growled. "Fair? Ye t'ink dis is fair matey? Yer 'ead's screwed on da bowsprit den. A real t'inkin' beast would see ye made a big mistake matey..."
"Cheating's the same as forefeiting, with all the consequences of losing!"
Renny stood favoring his wounded leg, slowly bringing his Katana out of it's sheath. "Dat matey," Renny said with a sneer "may 'ave been da smartest t'ing ye've said all day! Ah'm a t'inkin' ye knaw da meanin' o' t'ose words. Ye must be un nasty cheater.."
"You can go first!" "Frell you."
Rogg charged the monitor, which left Renny with Takeru. Renny brought his blade into a sparing stance and said tauntingly at the ferret." Nay me gad matey. Please. Ye ga first. If ye 'ave da gut."

Well, great. I'm glad your here now. But you know what? I'm sick and tired of random things happening to me, so frell off.
Takeru smirked. "An unavoidable part of living out in Mossflower is you're going to encounter vermin. So get used to it, unless you want to move into that little red abbey full of gullible woodlanders."
It's still not a fair fight. To you.
Suddenly, the otter strode forward and began slashing at Azalea. Displaying her lightning reflexes, the monitor dodged all but one of the slices, which barely made a dent on her thick scales. Both the monitor and the ferret weren't paying attention to Renny until he made his new comment;
Dat matey, may 'ave been da smartest t'ing ye've said all day! Ah'm a t'inkin' ye knaw da meanin' o' t'ose words. Ye must be un nasty cheater...
"Ooh!" Takeru laughed. "Coming from someone who thinks two against one isn't cheating?"
Nay me gad matey. Please. Ye ga first. If ye 'ave da gut.
"All right."
Takeru twirled her blade and lunged at Rogg, slashing at his neck, arms, and legs; the parts that, when injured, could cause the opponent a disadvantage in battle.
Azalea, however, was facing down Renny. With a swift movement, she raised her katanas and slashed at the otter.

OOC: so I guess I will fight Takeru insted of Azalea lol
Rogg was becoming exhausted from the prolonged battle and loss of blood. He could not stand another fight with the monitor, and the ferret just made things worse. The mercenary otter was a skilled warrior and assassin, but he was still young, and still susceptible to inconvenient sword cuts. He had not lots many fights before, but this one might be an exception. He could not keep up the constant attack and defense much longer. How the lizard had not given up yet was a mystery to the young otter as he tried to stave off the monitor's attacks.
Rogg was slowly moving the fight to the river, hoping to either push the monitor in, or escape by swimming. Most warriors would cringe at a cowedly retreat, but Rogg Streambattle was not most warriors, he was a mercenary, and winning the battle was not always everything. If the battle did not end very soon, he would have to use the flowing water as a lifeline, and maybe get Renny to follow.
"Dat matey, may 'ave been da smartest t'ing ye've said all day! Ah'm a t'inkin' ye knaw da meanin' o' t'ose words. Ye must be un nasty cheater..."
The mercenary otter was about to jump in to the river when Renny started talking. What a time for chit-chat. There was a small let up of the intense fighting and Rogg used it to it's fullest extent. Backing up away from the monitor, he raised his webbed paws placativly, still breathing hard. "Okay. can we just stop? There's no need for us to fight each-" He was cut off mid-sentence with the ferret unexpectedly attacking his. She was full of fresh energy and it was all the otter could do to barely block the first two slashes. But the third blow was so powerful that even though he held his sword in it's path, it still smashed his own blade into his shoulder, jolting him to one side and stunning him for a moment. The next attack was so fast that the otter could not even bring his blade to block it, he gasped as the ferret's sword sliced into the otter's flesh like a hot knife through butter. The big otter grabbed at his leg and fell on his side to the ground. He berated himself for ever taking his armor off, if had not, it might have been better off for him. But if wishes were fishes, there would be no room in the sea for water.
The mercenary lay there, holding his blade up, hoping that the ferret would not attack again. Rogg cursed under his breath. How did a little ferret defeat a big otter like himself? The mercenary knew that he had made mistakes and was now paying for them with defeat. But luckily, the otter was not the most prideful creature, and was not adverse to swimming away to save his skin. He started edging twords the water which was only about six feet away.
If the ferret tried to finish him off, Rogg would slip into the water and be gone in a few moments. But if she let him live, well, there would be no need for escape.....

"An unavoidable part of living out in Mossflower is you're going to encounter vermin. So get used to it, unless you want to move into that little red abbey full of gullible woodlanders."
"Ye waold be suprized at 'ow ungullable t'oes Abbeybeasts are w'en dey 'ave ta face wit' jet-scum like ye! Come wit' me t'ere Ah'll let ye meat a matey o' mine. Naw doubt in little time ye'll be a runnin' back ta yer mummy!" Renny rapped out. He didn't like vermin insulting Redwall. No matter who they were.
"Ooh! Coming from someone who thinks two against one isn't cheating?"
"Nay me 'eatry." Renny replied curtly. " Da lizard be a attackin' bot' o' us! T'ould only be unfair if it only attack un o' us."
"Okay. can we just stop? There's no need for us to fight each-"
Rogg tried to call a parlay when Takeru lunged at him, and bared down hard upon him. Rogg took so much damage that he fell to the ground a little ways from the water, his blade up to defend himself. Renny so dearly wanted to help him, but he was charged at by the Lizard. Why they decided to switch opponents, Renny didn't know, but he bought his Katana up with both paws to catch the blades that were baring down upon him. His blade caught the lizard's, but the strength of the beast was pushing down on him. Renny tried his best to hold the blades off while his mind ran at 90 mile an hour, figuring a plan.
Renny tried to twist his blade to release the three blade from their lock. He wold have to remember how they got the upper hand on the lizard before, then he had Rogg, but he would have to do this on he own. He remembered that although powerful, the lizard still had it's week spots and didn't have the best reaction time with speed. So Renny kept light on his toes as he tried to come at the lizard with a barrage of attacks. His blade spinning toward the Lizard's wounded paw, the cut on it's ribs, gash on it's side, and it's cut neck. He had to end this quickly incase Rogg need back up to help escape.....

[[Without further ado...]]
Okay. can we just stop? There's no need for us to fight each-
The remark went unheeded by the two vermin, who had begun the attack. Takeru Stormston raised her scimitar to swing angrily down at Rogg, who had fallen as a result of her attacks as Azalea kept up her attacks on Renny.
Renny attacked Azalea's weak points, the places where she had been injured before. She backed off, hissing furiously and slowly circling her unfortunate prey until the low voice filtered into her ears.
"Stop."
Takeru and Azalea both turned to the source of the new voice. A tall weasel was standing there, surveying both with his black eyes. He was lazily twirling his long broadsword in circles with one paw while toying with a rather vicious looking knife in the other.
"Nah, ah dinnae know what ye be doin' 'ere, but ye' don' 'ave any business aroun' th'se parts, da ye'? 'ither way, ye' can leave d' otters 'lone now, exit's t'ru those bushes." the strange creature snarled in a thick accent, pointing towards the nearest clump of foliage.
Azalea hissed and charged at the newcomer, who lifted his longsword backward as if it was light as a tree branch and swung it at the oncoming lizard. The force with which the flat side of the blade met with the other creature's armor stung the weasel's paw and sent Azalea flying backwards and crashing into the bushes with a sharp crack.
Takeru simply looked fearfully up at the beast and fled. Two otters-maybe. Two armed and angry otters and a heavily armored weasel with a massive sword was a different matter.
Spike Lothus smirked. Those two had been somewhat easy. He arched an eyebrow at the two otters and strode forward to the smoldering remains of the fire. Bending forth, he examined the damp, warm ashes and looked up at the otters.
"Wha'd y' 'ave t' ga' an' put d' f're out fer?" he asked, shivering. "Tain't t' n'cest day 's been inna wh'le. Contrary t' pop'lar belief, ah'm nat p'rtial t' tae cold."
"M' name's Spike Lothus." he added after a pause, then went back to staring at the fire.

Rogg lay there, his battle-scared blade upraised to soften the blow of the ferret's scimitar, hoping that he could wriggle into the river fast enough to escape certain death. The young otter felt so foolish that he had been defeated by a ferret; him, the most deadly assassin east of the River Moss. But then again, they were on the west side of the bank. Faster now, the big otter was moving to the cooling flow, when he saw the capable looking weasel.
"Stop"
The otter realized that the fight was now over, a surprised look stamped itself on his whiskery face. He jumped up, momentarily forgetting his gruesome wounds and spoke in a sarcastic voice. "I had the situation under control my friend" He of course, was not serious, Rogg was extremely grateful that the weasel had appeared, almost on cue to save the mercenary otter a long swim, and possibly his life. He did not get an answer before the monitor advanced toward the broadsword wielding creature. The otter felt an icy paw grip his heart and he started forward, blade ready to attack the lizard from behind. But it was not necessary for him to go one step further; the weasel brought his sword crashing into the lizard and she went flying into the bushes around the clearing. This certainly was a strong vermin, and that fact made Rogg uncomfortable. If the newcomer decided not to be too friendly, well, the two otters would be in far above their heads . The mercenary otter knew that he could not stand another fight with a fresh opponent, so he started to back away from the weasel, and toward the river.
"Wha'd y' 'ave t' ga' an' put d' f're out fer?" "Tain't t' n'cest day 's been inna wh'le. Contrary t' pop'lar belief, ah'm nat p'rtial t' tae cold.""M' name's Spike Lothus."
Rogg stared at the weasel, mouth open slightly. What had he just said? The otter always seemed to have a hard time understanding strong accents, first Renny, now this weasel. He did not even really know what Spike had said, but he did catch the part about the creature's name; Spike Lothus. What a strange name... The otter decided that since Spike had just saved them another fight, that he would be cordial to the newcomer. "I'm Rogg, and this river walloper over here" he pointed at Renny, "Is Renaud. I'm kind of sorry, but I don't really have any idea what you just said, so could you please repeat?" After he had done, he moved over to Renny and whispered to him. "Let's not get into a fight with this one, I can't handle another battle. Just bandage my arm up please"....

Renny heard the clean whoosh of his blade as he struck out at the Lizard. It backed off snarling; trying to circle him to take him down. Renny followed the Lizard's movements, but being just a step ahead. He peaked a glance out to Rogg who was trying to slide to the water. This was not going to end well. But then somebeast spoke....
"Stop."
Renny watched as his opponents spun around to see the newcomer. Renny did not. Turned a bit, but kept his front facing his attacker, just in case this was about to get even worse...
"Nah, ah dinnae know what ye be doin' 'ere, but ye' don' 'ave any business aroun' th'se parts, da ye'? 'ither way, ye' can leave d' otters 'lone now, exit's t'ru those bushes."
Renny almost smirked. So this creature was in our side huh? The accent was a thick Northern cut, not unlike Renny's. The Lizard charged the new creature and was sent backward by a crushing blow. Then as Renny had said, Takeru ran for her life like a coward trying to save her own life. It was now that Renny, still blade drawn, turned to see this new creature. This creature that the look of a berserker on him with his black eyes, red-brown fur, and metal plates strapped to various parts of his body. Yet, Renny felt a calm sense to him. Like he was the opposite of his looks, but could deliver the rage if it was desired. Renny calmed his breath down, but kept his blade at the ready, he wasn't sure what to expect. Then Rogg,(though how he was doing this with his injuries Renny would never know) lept up and barked out.
"I had the situation under control my friend"
Renny rolled his eyes. Really? He thought to him self. Rogg, you really had to say THAT!
Wha'd y' 'ave t' ga' an' put d' f're out fer? Tain't t' n'cest day 's been inna wh'le. Contrary t' pop'lar belief, ah'm nat p'rtial t' tae cold.M' name's Spike Lothus."
Renny brought down his blade. Very slowly he cleaned it on the grass and put it back in it's sheath. His leg now burned with pain, but he would not let it show.
"I'm Rogg, and this river walloper over here....Is Renaud. I'm kind of sorry, but I don't really have any idea what you just said, so could you please repeat?"
"Ah'll answa' da mate if ye ar' 'avein' troubles matey." Renny calmly said to Rogg. "Da fire be out fur cover fig'tin' dat lizard aw'ile back." Renny gingerly picked up his pack again and limped over to Rogg to catch the whisper that was passed to him...
"Let's not get into a fight with this one, I can't handle another battle. Just bandage my arm up please"....
Renny began taking out more bandages and a small vile of ointment and whispered back...."Ah want fig't if he dain't. Naw lay dawn sa Ah can fix ye."
He then began to try and continue to wrap Rogg's arm and apply bandages to his shoulder and leg. With more bandages Renny took out of his pack a small chip of flint and rolled it over to Spike. "If ye want a not'er fire ye'll be a needin' dat. Plus some mare fire woad. Dat stuffs all wet naw."....

I had the situation under control my friend.
"Su'e y' did, matey." Spike said, giving him a broad wink. "Why, 'f I'd thou't y' 'ad 't un'er c'ntrol anymore, I'd h've killed 'm both - or let 'm kill yew."
I'm Rogg, and this river walloper over here....Is Renaud. I'm kind of sorry, but I don't really have any idea what you just said, so could you please repeat?
Ah'll answa' da mate if ye ar' 'avein' troubles matey. Da fire be out fur cover fig'tin' dat lizard aw'ile back.
Spike smirked, seeing a cleaner solution to this then putting out the fire. "Well, y' could'a pushed t' lizard in'ta t' f're an' had a meal o' roas'ed reptile." At this, he let out a laugh, making it clear he was joking about eating the lizard.
If ye want a not'er fire ye'll be a needin' dat. Plus some mare fire woad. Dat stuffs all wet naw.
The weasel raised an eyebrow. "Re'ly? Take a' l'k a' dis." Picking up a nearby rock, he struck the flint a few times, checking to see if it would work. "A'l ri't." Spike said and struck the flint over the remains of the fire with a strong stroke. A flurry of sparks danced through the air and landed on the ruins, starting up a small flame.
He strode off, chopping down a dead-looking sapling with his longsword before returning to cut it up into logs before adding it into the fire.
