(Its ok.)
Hawk did his best to steady his bow, but as the humming behind him started he knew he had lost...again. Sighing he lowered his bow and dropping it to the ground. Looking up at the otter with his piercing blue eyes he locked eyes with her before he looked back down. He didn't reply to her question, just looked at the ground between his foot paws, like a dubbin caught trying to steal a candied chestnut. But a breeze knocked his hood off, reveling strange looking tattoos on the back of his head. A small green circle surrounded by swirling blue and red jagged lines. Hawk didn't seem to care that his juska tattoos were showing to the otter, he was going to die anyway, whats the point...

Steelfur relaxed a little at the sight of Tori and Bilge besting the weasel. He folded his staff and put it away in the pouch behind him. He was glad that he didn't have to do anything, and a little perturbed. He came to try and protect his captain's sister, and he failed miserably. Sighing he turned to go back to the ship, but before he did, he turned to Tori. "Whatever you're going to do, Tori, try and hurry up. Toriphess would seriously go after you if you aren't on the ship when he gets back from foraging, and I highly doubt that would prove benificial to anybody." Thus being said, he started back towords The Swiftraider

The tattoos caught the ottermaidens interest. She could tell they were tribql. Holding up a paw she signaled for the Rat to stop. Which he did, almost instantly, he had no inkling to harm anybeast. "Hand over the bow. I'll put it somewhere you can find it, just make sure you don't start following me again. I swear this is not a raiding mission." No this was a casing mission. She wished to test the waters, and see how well defended this place was. Looking at the mess her dress had become she sighed.
Whne Silverfur walked away she offeredd up a cheeky comment. "If he does, tell him I always won at hide and seek." Of course since most of her youth had been aboard the pirate ship the oly reason she won was because her brother had been chained to a oar, and couldn't really go looking for her. Of course she had still been good at the game. "i won't be back..give me four or five days, and have them stock up on some nice rich food whilst you wait." They weren't going anywhere productive without any maps anyhow. Supposedly this Redwall had a library, and in that library was doubltessly a few more charts se could have baggy shirted Bilge smuggle out.

Looked very depressed Hawk kicked the bow closer to the otter. He was surprised that he wasn't dead, well not yet at least, but after two attempts on bringing her in he doubted she would let him live again. Yet his ears perked up when she said it wasn't a raiding mission, that was certainly something different. Finally looking up he looked quizzically at her. "What is it then?"

Picking up the bow Tori unhooked the string, wrapped the around her paw, and tossed the mostrous weapon over her , rather short shoulder, it made a few sickening noises as it ground to a halt in the bows of a tree. "A indulgence of my curiosity." She was really to softhearted. Ansswering questions now!? What the hell was wrong with her these days? It was jus that curiousity, she wanted to see how thse filthy little woodlanders lived. Tori felt bad for her fried Bilge, the rat who was crammed against a tree trunk, rather uncomfortably mind you. She couldn't let him down just yet, who knew what other weapons this weasel was hiding on himself. No chances. Rubbing a paw across her black eyes she let out a yawn, then turned on her heekl, and started to walk off. Then waited, no doubt he had one more question she could answer without allowing him to stalk her all the way to Redwall! Answering questions made her feel intellectaul.

Sighing as his newly repaired bow was broken again Hawk looked back at the ground. He was still trying to think what she could mean by indulgencing her curiosity. What would she be interested in. Questions ran rampart in his mind as she turned and started to walk away. What else could he say? He had lost twice, and he knew if he tried to follow her again it would be third time unlucky, for him. sighing he didn't even reach for the sword at his waist as she walked away. He wasn't sure what he could say now, he just stayed silent, letting the incident play itself over and over in his mind. What had he done to fail again?

A pierce whistle ripped the air, shattering the silence. It was of course a whistle from the brassy ottermiaden. Seconds later a sound was heard off to Hawkeye's right followed by the rustling of branches, and as if by magic the little rat, once again covered in forest debris was standing by his mistress. "Tori. My name is Tori. I am disappointed that you have no questions." Much like a teacher admonishing a bad student she showed her disappointment with the weasel. She wanted curiosity, and she wanted to feel smart.
The small, younger rat, began tugging at her skkirt, trying to tell her to get moving. They had a long way to go.

Hawk continued to look at the floor as the otter spoke to him again. Now he knew a name. "Hawkeye." He said simply, the otter had told him her name, it was only fair that he told her his. But there was no need for her to know his real name. Why should he? She had beaten him twice....but still, she was a otter, the species that caused all his suffering. Pushing the thought from his mind he looked back at the otter. "What questions would I have Tori? 'Please don't go on the raiding mission?' 'Can I come with you to this mystery destination?' " He asked as he stared at the otter, see what she would do, would she scoff and walk away? Would she punish him for his failure? Or something else....? (Heh, I just noticed that both our characters have the same first name )

If she hadn't heard that name before, then she was a old otterwife. Of course sh had never heard it used on a vermin before. Odd. Hearing his next string of mumblings, she blinked, and wrinkled her snout, offended. This weasel was being lippy! "Liek I would know what you want to ask..and as to the answer to the second question...you's follow me anyway." Even if he hadn't really been asking the second question couldn't be ignored. Looking up at the blue eyed weasel she gave a final sneer and began to walk away. Bilge in front of her, glad that the path to Redwall was clear even in this dank light. It was the middle of the night after all, and holding his weapon had made him tired, eventaully his lady would have to stop and make camp.

Still glaring as Tori walked off Hawk waited until she was out of sight before he walked over to where she had thrown his bow. Picking up the three pieces he sighed and he sat cross legged on the ground and tried to see if he could put it back together. After a few minutes of fertilely fiddling he could see that it was beyond repair. Mumbling under his breath he threw the useless pieces away he started to root around for a tree with suitable wood for a new bow. Unaware that he was walking the same way as Tori and her rat companion were going.

Bilge turned his head over his shoulder, looking up at Tori as soon as he realized tha they were being followed. All his mistress showed for his display of concern was a sharky, if not cheeky smile. She had been expecting this. Pulling the larger bts of leaf litter out of his light colored fur he continued walking, Tori strolling along right beside him. It seemed she really didn;t care if they were followed. "So you ever been here before Tor'?" The rat inquired, waiting for a answer, and being very careful not to be too specific.
Tori let a giggle pass through her fingers, the serious co captain was gone for the moment, replaced with a overly curious female otter. "Course nt silly. Why woul' I be curious if I had." As much as she hated to admit it they had made hardly any progress at all, and it was obvious Bilge's short legs were getting tired. Not that she would admit thath ers felt measurably worse, she was only a little bit taller then her petite companion after all. But walk on she did.

Hawk was just far enough away to not hear Tori and the small rat, that and the fact that his mind was searching for just the right tree, his own mind talking in his ears, made it so he didn't hear Tori or the rat at all. Grumbling under his breath as he took hold of a branch and pull. To springy, he though to himself as he kept going. Bloody otter, why did she have to break his bow again. She knew that he wouldn't be stupid enough to follow her again. Pushing that thought from his mind he kept up his search. The wood was getting closer, but not close enough to make a strong enough bow.

What was that accursed weasel doing/ It sounded like he was trying to bring a tree to the ground. sounds of whistling branches could be heard as the branches whistled back into place. Tori knew what he was doing, and the thought of his fixing the bow caused her glittering dark-gray eyes to narrow in annoyance. Did he have any idea hwo hard it was to break that thing without breaking her paws? Tail swishing behind her she felt herself fall over the vine before she even realized it. Unlike Bilge she was never clumsy, it was obvious she was tired. "Let's camp here Bilge." Well here was a nice sized clearing about 100 yards away.
The little rat floped down on the ground, his 'bag' or baggy tunic jingled as he sat down. Both were to tired to make a fire right about now. They would have plenty to worry about tomorrow, they needed to save their energy for acting. Hopefully the chain scars on Tori's wrist were enough to draw a lot from the well of sympathy.

Hawk continued to look for just the right wood for his bow. He kept walking and testing the branches until he found one that was really close. Reaching up he tested it. It was strong, and he pulled on it harder. Smiling he let go of the branch. But he had underestimated the springiness of the branch. As it sprang back up, the back down right on his head. Yelling in pain he stumbled away from the tree, fell through a bush, and fell unconscious. yet un fortunately he fell right into the clearing that Tori and Bilge were sitting in. (Sorry if its bad, I'm having a little bit or writers block right now. )

When the weasel fell into the clear Bilge didn't yelp, but screamed. Louder then anything Tori had ever done, seconds later found him shivering beside the calm faced Tori. The female otter paws were still clasped around the gourd she had been drinking out of. er black eyes had barely fluttered as the sound of wood on skull reached her ears, followed by the unconscious body of Hawkeye. "Tose trees were putting karma into action; after all the pulling he had done to them." Pushing with all her might she managed to give herself some breathing room. This weasel was a very entertaining loser.

(Did you push Hawk or Bilge away from you?)
Hawk was still on the ground as Bilge freaked out. It was several minutes before he showed any signs of movement. Twitching for about a minute he slowly started to come around. "Ugh, my head." He moaned quietly as he sat up slowly. Looking around he could see trees, bushes, and the otter and the rat. Sighing he lowered his head again. It seemed that everything bad seemed to happen when he was near this otter....

(Bilge) "You have a headache--that tree was angry." Tori replied with a smirk. Now that her main pursuit was gone she decided that starting a fire would be okay. Nothing to eat them after all. Who would want to eat something as smelly as Bilge after all? Definitely nothing civilized. "If the river won't attack you dunking your head in the river would be a nice idea." Lifting a eyebrow at the large lump growing on his head she shrugged. Wh ywas she being so nice? COmpassion? NO! OF COURSE NOT! She needed the practice, if she wanted to fit in at Redwall she needed to act like a nice civilized young maiden. Not a pirate ships co-captain, which also meant she needed to reintutionalize those manners she had never learned.

Grumbling under his breath as the otter spoke Hawk walked off toward the sound of rushing water. He would be very surprised if she would be able to actually lose that arrogance that she had. But Hawk doubted she would ever be able to lose something like that. Finally making it to the water he sighed as he dunked his head under the water. It did feel good to have the cool water rush over his head. After a few more dunkings he stood up and shook his fur mostly dry. Yawning he looked around, no one was anywhere near him. The rat and the otter were back at their clearing. Shrugging he quickly built a small fire and curled into a small ball beside it. Sleep overtaking him instantally....

Tori sat there talking to Bilge for a good twenty minutes. Then putting her paw to her lips she ran off into the forest, towards the glow of the campfire. Then she went past that, straight into the river, where she drifted for a while, ignoring her wet clothes. COming back out, she began to stomp around the weasel's camp, leaving odd footprints, that were covered with slime from leaving the water. Deciding her mischief to be done she headed back towards camp, where Bilge was already sleeping.
Nodding her head , she curled up beside him, and used his paunchy belly for a pillow. The last thing she saw being the bright line of midnight stars, then she fell asleep. Redwall tomorrow--actin' skills here I come.

Only sniffling in his sleep as the otter walked around his camp Tori was to tired to wake up. His dream was filled with the scene from today, yet he was winning instead of losing all the time. Smiling in his sleep he rolled over closer to the fire. The otters mischief not interrupting his sleep.
It was several hours before the sun peaking over the horizon finally woke him up. Yawning he rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he looked around his camp site. Quickly looking down at the footsteps he examined them closely. They seemed familiar. Looking around he could see a much lighter set of footpaws leading out of the river. Again the very faint set of paws were again leading away from his camp. Reaching for his bow he remembered that it was broken. Sighed he set a paw on his broad sword and followed the tracks closely. Finally arriving at the otters camp he sighed. Why couldn't she just leave him alone, she had beaten him twice, wasn't it enough. Taking one last look at the otter he shrugged and walked back to his camp site, it wasn't worth trying to get back at her, like all his other plans against here it would probably fail....
