"I dont think anyone lives here Skip...." Blade, second mate in the Skipper's crew, said to the Skipper of sea otters. He knocked again. "Somebody's gotta live here...Look...pawprints..." he said pointing to the ground. Blade looked down. "Those are ours Skipper..." He said putting his paw next to the prints. "I see...well were gonna keep knocking till someone answers and If no-one answers we scale the walls..." The skipper says pounding on the door. "We've been knocking for over ten minutes Skip! Er....Skip...maybe we should just take a little break eh?" Blade says leaning against the gate doors. "Good idea! You keep knocking and I'll take a break!"
Being so far away from thier home this group of sea otters had no knowledge of any settlement on land. They knew of every island, every landmark, and every bay, but had know knowledge of land. They had seen Salamandastron many times. But to come across a big Red Abbey...not something these otter had planned on seeing...

((Minor Minor MINOR G-Mod... Hope ya don't mind.))
Melroch had finally found the abbey. Then there were voices. He snuck around so he was behind Irvine and Blade. Making sure his hood was up and his species was unidentifiable, Melroch unsheathed his dagger and walked up behind Blade, clamped a paw over Blade's mouth then held the dagger at Blade's throat, "Nobody move! Or I'll slit his throat!" Stepping back slowly and dragging Blade with him, Melroch hissed defiantly at Irvine. "Move and I'll kill him" THunder crashed harmlessly over head and lightning made the world everybody knew turn white as it flashed around everybody. Rain started to pour down and pelt everybeast's face and body. Snarling, Melroch whispered in Blade's ear, "Do you want to die slowly and painfully? Or fast and unpainfully?"
Odd. Melroch usually never gave his 'victims' a choice. Maybe he was feeling charitable today.

Kicking bad-temperedly at some of the scrub near her paws, Oaklea glared in the direction she was taking. A day's rest? What a stupid idea! Yes, it had iproved her health vitally, but she'd lost the tracks of that wildcat... Then, she heard what sounded like the gruff voices of otters, and she brightened. Otters! Maybe they'd seen something...She hurried out of the trees, stood, and gaped. Whistling softly, she muttered to herself, "Now THAT'S what I call a castle. Abbey. Whatever." She was about to take a step forward when a hooded figure darted out... The cat! ((Hi agian. ))

Within monuments about 20 otters appeared and all held their blades at Melroch's neck. The Skipper turned around with a what do you think your doing? look. "Now Ya'v either gotta be suicidal or jump plain lump brained matey to pull sumthin as stupid as that...." he drew his massive longsword form his back and also held it at Melroch's neck. "Now unlike you I dont give beast a choice on how they want to die. I just gut em and hope time cleans up the mess! However ima' fellin' extra merciful. So you just put that there dagger down and walk away and we'll act as if we gave ye head start....Before me' matey Blades runs ya' through...."

Snarling at the otter, Melroch took a step back, only to feel a blade pirck his neck. Melroch was a vermin, but he wasn't dumb. He knew what to do. He let go of Blade and held his arm above his head.
The signal.
A large hooded beast came running over, pushing through the otters and stood next to Melroch, staring at the Skipper. "Would you dare put harm to Melroch? Melroch will kill you one day. Melroch never forgets someone. Melroch is almighty. Melroch is better than some stupid riverdog." Letting his hands drop to his side, Melroch just stared at Blade. Why had he let one of his victims go? Even though Melroch had pushed Blade away, Melroch never let his victim go, even when outnumbered. Putting an arm on Melroch's shoulder, the large hooded beast started growling. Blood trickled down his mouth and started to stain his cloak. More growling came from the hooded beast, and soon, more blood. Those growls soon turned to snarls, then the snarls eventually died down. The hooded beast beside Melroch sure was odd, for lack of a better word. "Melroch will kill you. Melroch kills all. Melroch never forgets." More growls and snarls came from the hooded beast, as the beast's site never strayed from the Skipper. Melroch then asked the obvious, "You wondering who this beast is?"

"I certainly am."
Oaklea's paw snapped forward, the long cord flicking through the air. The long, thin dagger attached to it landed between the massive, growlign creatures paws, and with andother flick of her wrist, the weapons came sailign back to her. She twirled it through the air expertly, swaggering as it started to hum. Grinning coyly, she adressed Melroch. "'ello, mate. Remember me? Who's your friend?" Then, to the big otter who was obviously the Skipper, "Greetings, boyo." All in all, very trivial speakings. But she wanted information, and that came first.

((Funny how that big o' beast reminds me of somebody....eh rocky?))
"I was actually wondering how I was gonna kill em....Either a slice to neck or perhaps a gash to that empty skull of his..." He said with a grin crossing his arms. Blade walked over to Melroch and grabbed him by the hood of his cloak ignoring the big guy. "Listen matey...You can make all the threats you want....but know this...So long as were here... on this Gate forsaken place they call land. We'll be here to fight you...And we've got one advantage over you.... " He opened up his black tunic revealing countless numbers of scars on his chest. "...Death is something were not afraid of...."
The skipper turned to Oaklea. "Howarya! Mate!" he said turning casually to her giving her a big Hug as if the other two beast didnt exist.

Nodding sagley as Skipper spoke, she tilted her head, her dark eyes running up and down the cloaked figure. The otters seemed to know what they were doing here... And the cat and his companion were outnumbered. Her mind came to the satified conclusion that nothing would happen, but her gut twisted. Nothing was like that long, was it? "Eh? I'm fine, matey, howabout you?" smiling begniedly, she returned the Skipper's hug. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Melroch. Subtly, from the time she had run into him earlier, it seemed his tactics had changed...and where the brute had come form, she had no idea.
Neither did a pair of eyes, watchign everything with slitted interest. The eyes switched from the otters to the mouse to the cat and the towering, cloaked beast. Very, very interesting, indeed. Commander Tatroo will wanna hear about this...The eyes gleamed, and settled down to watch.

((Who Dannarth? Dont worry... I didn't copy you. I have special plans for this guy... Well not really...XD))
"Silence, riverdog! Melroch will not be spoken to like th--" He was cut short by and arrow that came out of nowhere. It was black fletched at the end and nailed the beast in the heart. A beast came joggin out and pulled off his hood to reveal a heavily tattoed face of a fox. Motioning to the Skipper, the fox asked a question, "Are you with Melroch?" Not wanting the Skipper to be confused, the fox explained. "My name is Zephyr Bladerunner. I have been hunting Melroch." Walking over to Melroch and pushing Blade's hands away from Melroch, Zephyr yanked the hood down to reveal a wildcat. "Expert Assassin and warrior. Trained to kill... Painfully." Taking a step back, Zephyr called out a warning to everybeast there, "Get back. He'll kill any of you with the exception of big boy Skip and the other otter with..." staring at Blade, he continued, "...Many... Scars..."
Melroch decided to go along with this supposed tracker. He didn't want to lose his life, so Melroch just stood there. Zephyr, ignoring his own warning he just issued, stepped over to Melroch and grabbed his throat, "Don't move... Or you will be silenced." Melroch hissed at the fox in front of him then yanked his head back so he was free of Zephyr's grasp. Taking a step back, Zephyr said to the Skipper, "Ask him anything you want..." Reaching back for an arrow, Zephyr continued, "He'll comply... Don't worry..."

Oaklea stepped forward, blocking the foxes view of the Skipper, no matter that she was shorter than him. SHe was bordering on anger...And having an issue supressing it.
"Oh, what? " she asked irritatedly. "I'M not safe from the kitten? And besides..." She paused, looking for the right word. Finally, she shrugged, and glared the fox striaght in the eye. "...Never mind, but look here, bushy. No offense, but I haven't got the highest opinion of foxes. And if he's so ruthless, would he be heistating? I don't really think so, but whadday I know, eh? And either way..." Her eyes narrowed. "I got a bone to pick with him. Melroch, was it?" Suddenly, her brown eyes flared, and she took a step forward, saying in a loud, proud voice:
"I am Oaklea Wildrun, the Black Wind. I am a warrior! I travel to find the stoat named Tataroo, and recently ran into him. He escaped with only a burned ship, but not the next time we meet! The only thing I have to ask you is whether you know where he may be headed, if you know him personally, and if so..." Her words suddenly dropped to a mencaing whisper, "Where is he? Where is Tataroo Raketail, the Stoat with Red Claws?"
The eyes in the shrubbery widened, backed up, deeper into the concealing shadows. The mouse! It was the black mouse! Now, all he needed to do was find out if the white one was with her and report back to Commander Tataroo...A thin tounge swiped thin lips, and the mouth leered. Oooh, yes, so interesting indeed!
((the eyes are random eyes of a random stoat in Tataroo's crew...the white mouse spoken of is Mapel, Oaklea's siter, who I have no bio for yet. yeah. XD))

"Theres no need Zephyr...then again..." the Skipper started turning to Melroch. "If you want to fight me...you do it on the sea...." he reached into his Haversack and pulled out a small red bag, just big enough to fit into his paw. "Zeph...you may want to stand back a bit..." he said tossing the small red bag at the two beast. As soon as it hit the bag exploding expelling a fine red dust over the two.

The seer through the eyes hissed in agitation. They couldn't see anything! What had the saltdog done? He had to SEE!
Coughing and snarling in agitation, the stoat hiding in the bushes clamped a paw over his mouth hurridly. He couldn't see the mouse, saltdogs, fox, cat, or the cat's huge friend through the fog.
He pounded a paw agains teh dirt and scowled. Blast!
Snapping her head around, Oaklea glared hard at the fog, the anger suddenly clearing from her eyes. Turning to the Skipper, she asked him hastily, "What is that? What does it do, mate?"

The Skipper stood back putting the lower part of the cloak over his face. "Step back a bit matey...Dont breath it in or get it on yer fur." he said. The rest of his crew did the same. "If ye breath it in it makes it hard to breath....ya get it on yer fur you'll be feelin' a very painful burning sensation for the next few hours...."

Immiedately, Oaklea glanced down at her paws. Her crimson red paws... BLAST! Hastily making an attempt to wipe the stuff off, she shielded her nose with a clean part of her cut-off-sleeves. The point of her daggord left a thin line in the ground as it trailed alongside her, as she was swuinting her eyes and trying to see through the dust... "Skip, mate, what's this stuff made off?" she asked suddenly, bringing her sleeve away from her nose and mouth. Cautiously, she took a whiff, made a face. "It's very...strange..." The eyes blinked, squinted. What was that? That strange feeling creeping and crawling over his skin... Then he realized. His fur was on fire. His eyes were burning! He was suffocating! With a terrifing schreech, mindless of potential discovery, the stoat leapt up, howling bloody murder, and, smacking at his fur and tail and clawing at his eyes, ran off. Blundering through the woods, the thought of a much worse punishment when Tataroo found out he'd fled too early did not yet cross his mind.

((Mind waiting for me? Lol))
Zephyr growled menacingly at Oaklea, "Back off, or do you want an arrow through your head?" When Oaklea turned to Melroch and said she was a warrior, he simply laughed, "You? A warrior? Ha! I've eaten things tougher than you!" Then Melroch hissed painfully as the red dust coated him. He stood as still as he could, trying to act like he wasn't in pain. Melroch couldn't hold it in anymore, he burst past Zephyr and threw himself at the Skipper, not caring if he was killed or not. Zephyr shot another arrow into Melroch's 'friend' and he fell over dead. Never to arise. Then Zephyr put his bow on his back and slammed into Melroch like a crazed bull, knocking him to the ground. Then Zephyr Pinned Melroch to the ground and kept a tight hold, "Eh Skip, help me. I want to keep this beast down but then again, I want 'im to rip her..." He turned his head and pointed at Oaklea with one hand, "... apart and leaving nothing left." Then he bared his teeth at Oaklea, "I'll kill you one day."

"Then you must have been eating very overcooked meat, bushtail," she snarled, tensing again as something screamed to her left...no. Nothing.
What was much more important at the moment was Melroch hurtling out of the smog and ramming into the Skipper, the fox jumping in, and swearing her death.
She grinned sardoncially, showing her white teeth. "I'll have to put you lower on the list, mate. I've got a few o' more than just you ta deal with." She flicked her wrist. "In other words, mate, get in line." She'd stepped in front of the Skipper, next to the well-scarred otter named Blade. She was glaring hard at Melroch, daggord twirling slowly beside her. "But if you'd like some 'elp there..." She caught the hilt of the knife part of the daggord, twirled most of the cord around her paw, and held the trailing end out to Zephyr, proffering her own weapon to the task of--shall we say, declawing?--Melroch. "...Be my guest." The thought she left unspoken was, ...but take more than I let you and I'll slit your throat.
((Eh, do I think Oaklea's getting on your charries [and possibly your] nerves, Rocky? ^^")) --And the weapon thing? Yeah. She's actually a Norseman (Norsewoman, whatever), so it'd be stupid to paw more of her weapon than she allows.-- *is shot for annoying people* DX

Adimun Snakefang was preoccupied with washing the small patch of firey red dust off of his armfur. He poured lukewarm water from a puddle onto it, ears pricking up at the scream of another...a stoat like him by the sound of it. Poking his head through a bush, the stoat observed his prediction was right; there was, in fact, a stoat coated in the red dust from tailtip to nose, howling like a wolf as he dashed away from the scene. He twitched an ear and flattened himself in the bushes as a mouse tensed at the sound of the scream-one covered in mud and dirt.
Adimun walked out of the bushes and hissed at the fox, on top of the wildcat. The fox was screaming at the mouse. The stoat hadn't missed the introduction-if he was correct, the fox was Zephyr Bladerunner and the wildcat was Melroch.

((Just to let ye all know incase ye dont remember: Habberath reddust is somthing that cannot be washed off by any liquid. It in fact is intensified by water and can only be releaved by a special liquid the skipper carries with him OR by waiting it off.))
The Skipper jumped back brushing as much dust off as possible that got on him. Luckily his cloak shielded a bit of it from his face. The Skipper was more so used to the pain than most beast. It was a game of tag they played at sea. They would throw them at other to get themselves familiar with the pain. It was still painful though even after 70+ games....He took a breath in and gritted his teeth looking at Melroch. "Now I've been merciful to you wildcat..." he said pointing a paw at him. He began extracting all of his razor sharp claws. "But...now...Im gonna rip one across yer face..." he said starting into almost a running sprint with his claws out. as he got to Melroch he left in the air spinning himself and his claws towards Melroch's face.
Before the claws reached him Blade lept infront of him allowing the Skipper's claws to tear through his back. Blade let out a barking shriek as the claws passed through and began to draw blood. "Whada'ya think yer doing!?!?!" the skipper asked. "He's not worth it now sir...." Blade said looking up at Melroch as if to say. I've saved you from pain that you deserve... The Skipper glared at Melroch. "Leave this place!" he shouted. "Just go..." blade said in a whisper to Melroch before dropping to his knees.

In another second a bundle of events took place very fast.
A stoat appeared from the foliage...
Skipper jumped at Melroch and was thwarted by Blade...
Blade dropped to his knees...
Of course, even after dozens of scrapes where sheh ad lost all reason, Oaklea still could not quite tell when it was no longer safe to remain somewhere. Of course, the act that an otter she had taken an immense liking to was bleeding and kneeling might have tipped her off that she was about to become very, very angry.
Then again, the stoat might've had something to do with it, too. Oaklea did not like stoats...not at all. Thus, as she jerked her paw away from offering Zephyr the aid of her daggord and began twirling it inthe air above her head, the deadly hum seemed to seal her temperment, and the first person she lunged at was the fox. "WILLLLDDRRRUNN!!!"

Adimun merely stared as Skip's claws raked down Blade the otter's back instead of Melroch's face. A strange tingling sensation crept up the patch of fur that had been red and burned like flame. The stoat's first impulse was to rub it, but that would've made his other paw sting. He gritted his teeth and ignored the pain. The fox that lay on the ground wasn't aware of it-Adimun whipped out his rapier/cutlass blade and charged. The stoat wasn't very fast even for his size. He was a thin, athletic beast, but he wasn't the fastest of beasts.
The blade of the curving weapon stuck out under the weapon the mouse was throwing, and strangely enough, it was a whip-made out of some sort of material-tied to a dagger. Adimun winced as the whip came down, not visibly.
