Irontalon didn't like the new 'king'. He made no objection to showing it. He felt the wing tip prod him and he batted him with a wing. "No beast touch Irontalon and live!" He said. "If you our so called "king" then why youum not show up beforeum? Were youum hiding in your momma's nest?" He said. Irontalon put on an extra burst of speed and landed in the nest.

Swasha let out a hiss from her beak and rose into the air again. In the excitement, her leg wound had reopened, and she glared ahead at the new king. What was going to happen now? She got to the loft, and hopped over to her nest, using a wingtip to prode her shiny objects.

Blackbeak watched Irontalon as the sparra warrior flew to its nest. The king made a sound like a growl deep in its throat and flapped his wings. The arrow scraped the ground with a scratching sound.
'Blacksparra been here alla time, watchin' alla sparra. Blacksparra killee alla sparra who not believe it.'
He flapped up to Swasha just in time to see the sparra glare at him. He wasn't sure if it was hatred or something else he saw in the warrior's eyes.
'What sparra want from Blacksparra?'

If youm king, youm must trust alla Sparra! Youum must not hide! Youum king! Ifum you say you were hereum alla time, why youm just decided to show yourself nowum?!" He asked. Irontalon's eyes blazed like fury. "King coward!"

That must have been the breaking for the King Sparra, because he dove upon Irontalon, pecking and scratching in fury, blood spattering Irontalon's body as Blackbeak flapped his injured wing in anger.
'Blacksparra killee you! Killee! Killee! Killeet!'
He punctuated each word with a blow at Irontalon, and repeated what he had just said before saying something else.
'Blacksparra wanna trust alla sparra, youm can't make possible. Killeet!'

Irontalon was surprised at the onslaught. Both were large sparrows. Irontalon got pecked a couple times, but nothing too serious. He wriggled from Blackbeak's grasp and flew away. He then came back from behind and dove on the Sparra King. He packed and scratched. He was furious that another Sparra would attack one of their own kind without challenging them properly. "Youum a bad king!" Irontalon said. He raked and pecked at Blackbeak's injured wing.

Swasha let a hiss from her beak as the fight broke out in front of her. She tried to get between them and break them up, but talons and pecks from...well, she didn't know which one.... hit her, and she felt some more feathers ripped from her, and struggled out.

Blackbeak's wing was pecked once before he withdrew it, holding it out to Irontalon.
'Blacksparra agree work with sparra.'
He turned to Swasha, pecking a feather as he tried to jump into the air but fell, owing to the heavy arrow in his wing.
'You sparra fix Blacksparra's wing?'

Irontalon ignored the wing and stalked off. He was furious. He mumbled incoherently to himself. He still wondered why the Sparra King didn't show up until now. He shook his head. He was generally saddened that the king didn't show up before and that he attacked Irontalon. HE hobbled to his nest and layed down.

'Blacksparra sees Ironsparra and Swashasparra together. Blacksparra wanta leave alla them 'lone.'
He waited for Irontalon's reply, angry and saddened as well.

Irontalon looked up at the king. "Is thatum true?" He asked. "Um... Irontalon sorry... for being mean... and rude." He said while hanging his head low. He said to Blackbeak in a low tone. "Irontalon like SwashaSparra... Irontalon no know what to do..." He said.

Blackbeak's wing clattered on the ground and he looked to Swasha before turning back to Irontalon.
'Blacksparra think Ironsparra tell Swashasparra. Only way Swashasparra know Ironsparra like her.'

Swasha looked at the Sparra king, but then he said how he'd decided to leave them alone, and the two talked with each other. She went to her nest and looked at her leg. Congealed blood was on the wound. She looked around for a scrap of clothe lining her nest. When she found it, she ripped it and bound the wound, wishing she could go to the nice pond and clean it.
She started to settle down, trying to forget the drama of the day.
