((Nobody seems to use the Marshlands but me XD))
Alexis had taken so long to prepare for his first trip to the marshlands; studying books about the Marshlands themselves and how to survive if he got stuck. Now he was finally standing at the edge of the marshes, ready to discover what uses this place had for Herbalism . He took a deep breath, hoping he wouldn't forget anything, and looked around.
After quite a bit of looking, he found that there were no sunken stones in the vicinity. How did the old Keeper manage this? he thought to himself.
Eventually he reasoned that the ground here might be stable enough, and that the stones were further into the marsh. With that thought in mind, he placed a sandalled footpaw forward onto the ground before him. The ground seemed solid enough. He brought his other foot forward and placed it on the ground. Solid again.
The lop-eared rabbit continued onwards, getting more nervous as the ground began to get slightly softer with each step. Eventually he stopped to look around, trying to find out if there were any herbs in the area. He looked back down at his sandalled footpaws just in time to see them nearly get swallowed by the thick sand-like muck. Gasping, he tugged on his right footpaw, which came out with a loud plop, sending muddy sand flying in all directions. He placed it on the ground further ahead and tugged on his left footpaw, which eventually came out in the same manner.
He decided to hurry on ahead before he got stuck again, tugging his sandals from the muck each time, but eventually his luck ran out, as his sandalled footpaws plunged right into some incredibly thick and sticky quicksand. He sank right up to his knees in the quicksand, which jiggled in delight at its new meal. He tried to remember what he had read in his book about escaping from quicksand, but his mind blanked. Well that's awfully convenient, he thought, as he kept tugging at his feet, the wobbling quicksand refusing to lose its grasp on his sandals.
((Go on ahead and post here if you want, goodbeast or badbeast.))
