The fox leaned back even further on the bed. He glossed over most of the details given too him. Every fortress city, or in this case abbey, had a reputation of fierceness. That was the general point of a fortress, to disgurage attackers with propiganda. He heard tales of a badger run fortress in the heart of a volcano to the west. The fox chuckled at the thought.
But he caught the important details. A fortified place to hide out with good food to boot. Just what he was looking for.
"So a coven of violent pacifists?" He said with a smile as he sat up, wagging his tail happily. "You had me at feasts though. You guys wont mind if I tag along will you?"
Ooc When you guys are ready feel free to pose a time gap ^^ Baro has run out of witty remarks for the moment XD also welcome back soldier.

(OOC: Actually coyote, I left los lobos with my first main character a long time ago man.)
As soon as fernleaf gave him his answer, he went straight to work. He went outside to go set up since its in open air and the smoke from cooking would dissipate faster. He gathered some sticks and stones to make a small campfire, then he proceeded to light a fire. It took a few attempts, but he finally got a small fire going and started getting out some of his utensils. He then set up a small stand and put a pan on top so he could be ready to bake for fernleaf and baro.
A few minutes later from returning from a nearby stream with water, he made the dough he needed and started kneading it. Once finished, he started to sprinkle a few spices onto the dough, then placed it into the pan, and started putting the main ingredients in. A pinch of sugar, a couple of berries, and a bit of fruit to balance it out. Satisfied, he kneaded the dough over and let it bake. The pie cooked slowly a it started to rise ever slightly and a drifting aroma emanated from it as it cooked.

Fernleaf sat back, smelling the delicious baking. This was so good, better than a hermit like him deserved. But it was so good, it would be impossible to resist. And then, to Redwall. If they would have him, ferret that he was. He didn't know he was silly. The goodbeasts there knew of him through those wonderful Dibbuns, and would be ecstatic to have him among them. Redwall never turned away those of good will.

Let me know and ill spoof Baro either enjoying his pie or on the road. Oh and i think any harm done to Baro by the hedgehog is not water under the brige

Ooc ok, ill go ahead and spoof a time gap. I'll just keep the description simple and on the road so as to allow fernleaf to GM important events Ic: It was debatable just how friendly a welcome a beast like Baro would recieve. The brown furred glutton trotted happily down the road, tail wagging happily behind him to the point it churned up dust. He walked with a slight slough to his steps, probibly his natural posture or due to having to break into running from an enemy on all fours, or maybe his belly was just so full it weighed him down. The fox and gorged himself to the point his gut was noticably swollen with pie and drink. "Not too bad Truslo," the fox politely covered his maw with his fist as he belched, "A bit gooey in the center, but not bad at all." As it turned out the way to the fox's friendship was through his stomach. Any annimosity towards the beast was lost. He even almost patted the hedgehog on the shoulders despite the quills. Almost. By the time the pie was baked and then eaten the noon day sun had appeared and gone. There were still a few hours before dusk. The road though was a pleasent travel. Just starting out from the hermits hovel there was not a beast in sight, at least for now. The woods were alive with the friendly chirping of birds which if anyone could understand the bird language they would have probbibly not have found the chirping friendly at all. Birds. Half crazed feathery fiends with a scatterbrained mentality in Baro's opinion. But otherwise the day was rather pleasent. The weather was warm with several clouds gathering to the west. To be honest the fox was actually looking forward to meeting the beasts responsible for providing the hermit with such fine food. "So how far are we from this, 'Redwall' place?" The name still bugged Baro. He could have sworn he heard about a place like it in a story once.

Fernleaf had loved the pie, and told Truslo so. It reminded him of the times he had visited his Guosim friends, who were excellent cooks. "We're on the right road to Redwall, Baro." he said. "We're within sight of it, it's just up there." He pointed with his staff to the red sandstone walls looming up ahead. "We'll be there shortly." His hut wasn't too far from Redwall, which is why he often had visits from those precious Dibbuns. Otherwise, the Abbey Mother wouldn't let them wander so far lest they get lost in the Mossflower woods.

# OOC: riiighto -- so I'm crashing in... ^^ #
Three beasts weren't the only ones making their way to the Redwall. A little bit farther behind them two paws stepped lightly on the tamped road. And now and then they were making small jumps and whirls according to the melody which played through the air.
Steck Vennet was dancing, whistling and playing merry tunes from his lute while making his way forward. His green, large brimmed hat bobbed in his head, bright red plume swinging side to side as the bard sang, while beating the rhythm with his dancing steps and tail.
"What a beautiful day, in each and every way All the birds are singing The flowers bloom, if not now, then very soon Oh what a joy they are bringing"
In sunny days like this it surely was good to be a traveler. A warm feather and clear skies, smell of middle summer's flowers in the air... Moreover he was on his way to the legendary Redwall Abbey! Kind residents of the Mossflower had pointed him to the right direction and at last he had arrived to the road which would guide him right to the gates. Steck's soul was ablaze with excitement. Finally his travle had taken him to the place where all the greatest legends came from. No wonder he felt like dancing and bursting into a song.
"I have heard the stories of old While traveling across the land About the heroes, so true and bold But none of those tales so grand
As the adventures, the heroic deed Of the warriors of Redwall How they fought, how they freed The evil they forestall
So that's the place I have to see The begining of legends of all That's where it has to be In the Abbey of Redwall!
'Needs a bit working on', Steck thought.

(OOC: lolz, so random)
Truslo did not hear Baro comment on his pie when he heard music and singing not that far behind them. He took a quick glance back and saw a beast dancing as he walked and played his instrument. What a sight to see for the young hedgehog, especially the large green brimmed hat with large red plume."Hey, Mister fernleaf, theres a strange dressed mouse not far behind us. I think he might be a traveling bard, heading to Redwall like us to." He said to Fernleaf.

"Sounds great, another companion." said Fernleaf, who was tapping his footpaw to the music. "I'm inclined to wait for him to catch up, he sounds like somebody good to talk with." He was pleased to wait before entering the abbey, as he had just developed a foreboding to entering, as if he felt when he did, his life would change forever, similar to when he had entered Salamandastron.

The fox however has stopped in step. His ears are standing on edge along with the rest of his fur. His tail has poofed out slightly. "I know that off key voice anywhere..."
The fox whines very loudly, "No...not him. ANYbeast but him..." rubbing his eyes the fox finally turns to the ferret, "Listen, don't let the mouse know I was here. If anyone asks, tell him the hedgehog ate me!" He says in a slightly paniced voice before dashing off the side, leaping into a pair of bushes. His golden eyes can be seen glancing out onto the road for the offending bard.

Fernleaf was surprised at the fox's sudden disappearance. "Now what was that all about?" he said, looking at Truslo. "They must know each other, but how, I haven't a clue."
He was still listening to the bard's song.

"Umm...what?" Truslo just dumbfounded at Baro's behavior. He was confused and could not understand why he did it in the first place. It was just a bard, playing a song and dancing, what could possibly be wrong with that? He thought to himself as he looked back to the approaching bard coming from behind them.

After reaching the end of the song, Steck didn't sing anymore but his fingers continued playing the lute's strings. The composition of song's lyrics might only been a second-rate, created right on the spot, but he really liked the melody he had succeeded to create. Tunes were coming out quite nicely, so they would be worth of remembering: he wanted play until his fingers and ears had memorized every note. Then this new found melody would be save in his memory until he got time to sit down and craft it into a masterpiece...
It was all by chance Steck momentary lifted his eyes from his instrument and then realized he wasn't the only one using the road: up ahead of him stood three beast watching him.
One of them was clearly a hedgehog but the figure standing next to him was more difficult to identify, namely because the beast was wearing a grey cloak which hood hid his face. And he had a staff.
The third beast was a fox but before Steck could get a good look at him, the vulpine disappeared -- wait a minute, did the fox actually just jump into pushes like swarm of angry beetles on his tail?
Steck lifted his other eyebrow. He couldn't help but feel puzzled about that kind of behavior. Usually the vermin he encountered jumped out of the bushes as an ambush, not other way around.... But he really didn't believe this was soon-to-be-encounter with bandits. Well, maybe he would get an explanation for this odd behavior as he was walking right towards two remaining beast. Steck didn't hurry - there really wasn't need as distance between them wasn't so far that lively walking wouldn't get him there in few short moments. And after arriving to the earshot, Steck flashed out one of his friendly smiles and made a small bow. It seemed proper to do so as they had stopped waiting for him. "Greetings, good sirs. What a marvelous day meet company on the road" Steck tossed his lute over his shoulders. "...I surely hope it wasn't my singing that forced your friend take sanctuary behind the bushes", he then said, peering to the direction the fox had vanished. "I agree it wasn't my greatest piece, but I wouldn't ever dare to think it was that horrible."

"Fox? What fox? There is no fox here!" Shouts a beast from inside the bushes. Blast he has been spotted! What to do what to do what to do?
"Um...don't mind me! Just checking the bushes for uh, ambushes! Yes!" The fox face palms. He is so doomed. The mouse already proved he could kick his tail thrice over and after their...departure from the warlords base up north well...
Baro decides to stay in the realitive safety of the bush he is in.
Ooc (you have permision to interact with baro anyway you want to cat ^^ feel free to beat him up if you want.)
