Name: Violet Rowan
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Species: Mouse
Occupation: No current occupation
Physical Appearance:
Violet has light brown fur which, on the back of her head, she ties in a ponytail with a red band. Her eyes are bluish with a purpley tint. She wears a purple knee-length tunic and a brown leather belt around the waist.
Possessions:
Violet's main form of defense is a pouch of stones and a sling, but she carries a small knife with her just to be safe. Her most defining possession is a haversack that she keeps random things in, earning her the nickname "Havvy", given to her by the dibbuns.
Personality:
Violet is quick-minded and headstrong. In any situation she can figure a solution in no time. Sometimes she doesn't figure in the ramifications for her actions, but still does them. One of her main attributes is that she has a strong maternal instinct, meaning that if a young creature is in harms way she will do anything in her power to help, but in normal combat situations she's never at the front. Every night she has the same dream of a village burning and assorted creatures screaming and being chased and murdered by vermin, but she doesn't know it's meaning and the thought of it occasionally gets in the way of her duties.
Strengths:
Very fast and agile, smart, good at puzzles and riddles.
Weaknesses:
Not courageous, little ability in combat, often blanks out, no inhibitions.
History:
Violet was born in a village in the Northlands who's inhabitants were all related in some way, so much that they all lived in one great hall. She lived a carefree life and spent her time playing with her best friend Furnin, a small mousebabe the same age as Violet.
When Violet was less than a season old, her village was raided by a group of villains led by a black rat named Obsidius Bane. Everybeast was slain except Violet and her mother (and unbeknownst to Violet Furnin survived as well). Her mother ran for days being chased by Obsidius' creatures, still holding her baby, when eventually one of the vermin shot an arrow at her back and killed her instantly. Violet was thrown from her mother's arms and rolled into a bush. The vermin found the body of her mother and brought it back to Obsidius to verify that he had wiped them out.
For the next few days Violet crawled around in the forest until she reached the River Moss. She leaned over the edge of the bank and then fell in and began to cry as a large pike came swimming towards her. Luckily for her the chieftain, Fat Daddy Rowan, of a squirrel tribe nearby who heard the splash and the cries and rescued Violet from the incoming pike. He took her into his tribe as his daughter and his own son Ash, who was three seasons old, became very fond of the mousebabe.
After the tribe was wiped out and Fat Daddy had his fatal accident, Ash and Violet wandered through Mossflower for four seasons, going on many adventures, and were eventually told of Redwall Abbey, a safe-haven where they could live in peace. On their way they found a harebabe named Shara (SHAY-ra) and she became attached to Violet so that she was the only creature she ever spoke to.
