Name: Rocky Gender: Male Age: 28 Species: Otter Occupation: Scout/Ranger type
Physical Appearance:
Slightly long, chestnut colored fur cover's his young athletic body. His eyes are a light blue color and his nose has a slight crook in the middle of it due to a breakage that occured when he was younger. His ears are normal except for a slight cut in the tip of his left but it is virtually unnoticable unless you stare right at it. He has a slight gap in his two front teeth and pronounced jawline.
He is of stocky build with a muscular upper body. His shoulders are broad, his chest is defined and his arms are filled with muscle and sinew. He has a flat stomach that, although it has a layer of fat, does not jiggle when he walks or runs. His paws are callused and his knuckles are very pronounced.
He doesnt have any fancy battle scars but usually sports some bruises due to his tendency to stay outdoors and in the wilderness.
Possessions:
- Sleevless shirts and normal pants - Medium Length Hunting Blade - Short Sword - Leather belt - Leather bracers on his wrist - Durable boots that are pretty roughed up
Personality:
Rocky has a tendency to do what he wants and speak his own mind. He has a tendency to over analyze things he can not control. He doesn't like sitting around doing nothing and always strives to complete his current objective. When Rocky doesn't complete his objective, it never sits well with him and always dwells on what could have or should have been done. He has a strong sense of mental toughness and very rarely quits at something.
He enjoys being outside in the wild but doesn't mind being indoors so long as he has something to do. He'll usually be seen carrying objects around, helping out a cook with the food or lending a hand when someone is tidying things up. He is definitely not afraid to get his hands dirty. Rocky doesn't mind being asked to do a certain task, not at all, but he doesn't appreciate when he is made to feel like a servant and will usually speak up if he feels that way.
He has respect for authority and chain of command (like in a militaristic fashion) but he isnt afraid to have a run in with them. Rocky is very hard headed and stubborn and doesnt care what anyone thinks of him. He comes off as a tough guy to most people but he can also be a big softy, especially when around babies and young ones. He has an acute sense of emotion and is able to pick up on how someone is feeling quite easily. He can be very sarcastic and cynical when interacting with people he has no respect for and isnt afraid of physical altercations.
Rocky is a bit of a lone wolf and has a preference for working on his own. Because of this, he doesn't trust a lot of people.
Strengths:
- Excellent in hand to hand combat and grappling - Good at close quarters combat with a short blade - Very Strong and tough - Good at climbing - Good at scouting
Weaknesses:
- Absolutely awful at using a bow and arrow - Does not do well when working in a unit (militaristically) - His mouth has a tendency to get him in trouble - Not good at leading - Has a very tough time trusting someone
History:
Rocky grew up in a rather large village composed of a whole manner of woodland creatures -- there were mice, otters, shrews, a very small group of hares and some water voles. Rocky had a very close relationship with his mother, most likely due to the fact that he had no siblings and he didn't get along very well with his father. When Rocky was younger he would always get into verbal altercations with his father because he did not like the way that his father spoke to his mother. He felt like his dad was very nasty to her and Rocky was never afraid to stick up for her, even if it meant getting a few hits across to the jaw.
Growing up, Rocky never cared to do all the playing around that the other kids his age did and preferred the company of an older hare, Otis. Otis was around 50 years of age and retired from the esteemed Long Patrol but just because he was retired didn't mean that he was lazy. The hare kept himself in remarkable physical shape and Rocky was very, very jealous. When Rocky was 12 he was always seen around either his mother or Otis and the odd looks that the other creatures his age gave him didn't phase him one bit.
Otis practically taught Rocky everything and moulded him into the creature he is today. Each morning, while most of the village was sleeping, Rocky and Otis would be in the wild, running for long durations of time, training their muscles and their lungs. Over time, Rocky developed into a very muscular young otter and was quite the outdoorsman. Otis had taught him basic medical care such as how to set a broken bone or clear and infection. Rocky learned much survival skills, what things in the forest were edible and what were very dangerous, how to create a fire, how to camouflage, etc. While the other animals his age were having fun, Rocky was pushing his body to the limit, constantly evolving and adapting to his surroundings and learning how to live off the land.
When Rocky was 15, Otis deemed him old enough to begin learning combat skills. The old hare taught him how to grapple and apply certain body locks to immobolize an opponent. When Rocky became sufficient in grappling, Otis gradually began teaching hand to hand skills as well, to complement his grappling. By the time Rocky was 19, he was an exceptional grappler and very good at hand to hand combat. He learned not to fear any opponent and to use little mercy on creatures with the intent to harm him or someone he shared a bond with.
At 19, Otis began to teach Rocky how to wield a sword, particularly a blade of short to medium length and with a slight curve. Rocky became profficent in sword play after a couple years of training with the old hare, but he has a strong preference for grappling and hand to hand combat.
Rocky is now 28 and not a day goes by where he doesn't think about his mother or Otis. He left his village when he was around 26 but he still goes back there periodically. He considers himself lucky that he didn't face any tragedy in his life, such as a horde of vermin wiping out his entire village and destroying everything he ever loved. He is thankful for his background, for his mother's love and especially for Otis and everything the older hare taught him. Rocky remembers his roots and is very pleased with the way he has developed, both physically and mentally, over his relatively short life.
Relationships:
His mother, his 'mentor' Otis, and people he knew in his old village.

Looks good! I see nothing here of any real concern.
The only advice I'll give you is try typing your posts into a Word document (or at least copypaste into one) and that will help you catch the little spelling and grammatical errors. Typos are nothing to worry about, but a lot of them can be prevented with a little spellcheck and a glance-over. =)
Anyway, accepted!
