Physical Appearance:
Ana is around middling size for a hare, with slightly longer ears than most. Her eyes are brown, but with an unusual green ring around the pupil, which is where her name comes from. Her fur is a dappled brown, apart from her ankles. These have no fur, as when she was young, she was held by vermin, and the chains that they used were too small for her.
She wears the tunic of a Long Patrol Assistant Healer with pride and without embellishment, but also wears a small gold bracelet around one of her wrists. This she takes off and leaves in a safe place when she is called on for her work as a healer, or whenever she is called upon in the field.
Possessions:
Ana has her gold bracelet, a reminder of her past before she was taken as a slave, and not much else, besides her sling and rapier. She has a belt pouch with all the items she needs as a Healer, and this stays with her at all times, no matter what she might be doing.
Personality:
Ana is not a fan of male hares. She has a no-nonsense approach to them, and if one steps out of line, she is the one likely to box his ears for it. After watching how they flirt with all the other hare maids, she knew that she didn't want any part of their attention.
With the other hare maids, she's quiet and reserved, unsure of how to act around them. These reservations, however, don't stop her or hold her back-quite the opposite, they make her all the more determined to make it as a Healer, especially as she can't join the Patrol as a scout or runner, thanks to her ankles.
Strengths:
Ana is determined to succeed at her post, no matter what it takes, and she applies this determination to everything she does. Be it to keeping a patient still in the infirmary, or her rapier training with the other fighters, she never gives up.
She may be a little rough, but Ana is also kind to those who manage to get past her tough outer shell, and loyal to a fault, too. One thing she would never do is leave a friend in trouble.
Weaknesses:
Her ankles. Because of the too-small chains the vermin who held her forced her to wear when she was young, her ankles are weaker than most hares. As a result, she was unable to join the Patrol as a scout or runner, and has had to take other routes to becoming a fighter.
She is also incredibly clumsy. Ask her to pick something up, and she is likely to end up on the floor with everything else scattered around her, too.
History:
Ana has a few fleeting memories of a female hare singing to her, but most of her childhood memories are dominated by the time she spent enslaved by a group of vermin that captured her when she was around three years old. During this time, she spent most of her time cleaning and cooking for the vermin that held her captive, giving her a much more adult view of the world than a little one her age should have had.
Ana was found by a Patrol tracking a group of vermin when she was very young. It's thought that the vermin group had killed her family and taken her as a slave to do their dirty work for them. The chains she was being kept in had grown too small for her, and had cut into her skin, killing the fur that grew there and damaging the muscles.
The Patrol in question didn't hesitate to kill the vermin and free Ana, bringing her back to Salamandastron, where she rapidly grew into a pretty young haremaid under the care of the other hares that lived there.
Because her age is unknown, the Patrol that found her made a guess at her age being around six, but it's possible that she's a little older than this age.
When they freed her, she had crawled to one of the vermin's bodies and tugged on a bracelet it was wearing, determined to get it off of the body. The Sergeant had asked if it had belonged to someone she knew, and her only response was 'Mama's bracelet! Mama's!'
Hearing this, the Sergeant himself had removed the bracelet from the vermin's paw and had given it to her, earning a smile, the first of very few he would ever see on her face.
Ana showed an aptitude for all the lessons that she attended at the Long Patrol's school, and on discovering that her old injuries would prevent her from properly joining the Patrol, had taken the academic route instead, deciding to become a Healer despite her reserved nature around others.
Relationships:
No family that are believed to be alive, at least. Ana has a few memories of a female hare with eyes like her own singing to her, but nothing more than that. For all she knows, her family could be alive out there somewhere and still looking for her, even after all this time.
