Alright, folks, so here's the basic story we've got for the Redwall plot.
The abbot of Redwall, Father Rommel, is actually Romulus, warlord, horde leader, and schizophrenic psychopath. He's hellbent on taking the abbey down from the inside, and all he has to do is give his horde the signal.
But first, he has to get rid of the current Champion, Broden Spikediggle. How does he do it? Well, first, he kills the younger brother of Shad Streamdog (using Broden's dagger, of course) and then he frames Broden. It's hard for every beast to believe at first, but the evidence is there. Broden is branded a murderer and is kept (in a secure, as-of-yet undecided location [Mossguard?]) to await punishment from 'Father Rommel'.
Then, oh, Great Seasons, THEN, the horde takes over. Of course it's an easy conquest for them, since the abbey dwellers don't put up much resistance. Romulus is now in control as the smartest beast ever to take down Redwall from within its very walls. The abbey dwellers are now prisoners within their own homes.
But all is not lost. Timaeus Nightwing, and his brother Daedalus Nightwing, two bat couriers, alert Salamandastron and the Mossguard of the plight at Redwall. However, Daedalus is delayed in alerting the Long Patrol, so Redwall and the Mossguard are on their own. Tobias and Jaroah, two master thieves, are working to smuggle beasts out of the abbey to safety. Of course, not every mission is successful. Romulus is much more clever than the abbey beasts have ever given him credit for.
He's done away with Martin's sword. The incessant ringing of the blade had continued to pound in his ears (I added this part) so, annoyed as he was with this ringing, but unable to properly destroy the blade, Romulus has it thrown into the River Moss. Now Redwall is really in deep crud. Their champion is still held prisoner (for a crime he didn't commit, but Romulus ain't sayin' nothin') and now the sword is gone. If they ever needed Martin, it's now. Not even the Salamandastron forces know of their plight, and Mossguard is having trouble beating Romulus' horde beasts.
Rook Dare, a good friend of Broden's, is led to the fallen sword by Martin, who comes to the hare in a dream. With the help of Tobias and Jaroah (and whoever else wants to help retrieve the sword), Rook races against the clock to get the blade back. The day of Broden's execution is nearing, and they haven't much time.
Perhaps we could get more forces involved, but perhaps this may be it. It has to be big enough so everyone who wants to join can join, but too many big, elite forces against Romulus' horde, and I think this may be over too quickly. Feel free to chime in on things I got wrong or things I left out. I was trying to get the basic outline written out so Prank could approve this thing.
EDIT: Fixed the part with the Sali folks. We agreed that it was too much for the plot. Thanks, y'all.
Also, I plan to have part of the Guosim involved, as well. Since someone suggested this all begin at the Autumn feast, perhaps the Guosim were invited to come, but only Nik and a small group of warriors were able to make it. They get trapped inside Redwall when Romulus' horde takes over and help smuggle the abbey dwellers out to the Guosim camp, perhaps? The Guerilla Union is slightly short on fighters at the moment, so even if they did join with the Mossguard, they may not be of much help. Their main concern would be to keep the abbey dwellers safe.
So, here's a list of characters thusly involved in this plot so far:
((in no particular order))
Father Rommel/Lord Romulus
Broden Spikediggle
Rook Dare
Timaeus Nightwing
Tobias and Jaroah
Nik Lagdo and (part of) the Guosim*
Rewhane and the Mossguard*
Felix Ferroux*
Skidd and Shad Streamdog
Coor*
*Characters marked with asterisks indicate that I have not heard back from their owners, or their owners are undecided on the character's involvement. Thank you for your time. Please let me know if anyone is missing from this list.
