Physical Appearance:
Brownish fur with a little bit longer fur on the head, grayish blue eyes, he's quite thin with broad shoulders. He wears a blue waistcoat with a tan shirt underneath and dark brown pants, and a brown leather belt with a brass buckle. When he's going around normal Abbey life, he wears a dark brown habit.
Possessions:
A gold chain necklace with a small lapis lazuli and garnet sphere. His weapons are a sling with stones, a bow and quiver of arrows, a walking stick or "beating stick" as he calls it, and a dirk.
Personality:
Ash is a shy, adventurous, excitable young squirrel whose main goal is to be accepted. He has a relatively good sense of humor, he's sarcastic, and kind of a smart alec
. He has some trouble controlling his anger, so making him mad is a bad idea. If you get on his good side though, he'll be a loyal friend.
He has a morbid fear of water, because he almost drowned when he was six, and pike fish. It's really easy to confuse him, and it's easy for him to confuse you (confused yet?), so riddles and puzzles are a no. He isn't afraid to lie to save his life.
Strengths:
Excellent marksbeast: He can hit a target accurately from a very long distance.
Very agile: He can climb a tree near-silently and sneak very well.
Can fight without a weapon: He's good in paw-to-paw combat.
Resourceful: If his other weapons aren't at hand, he can just use anything.
Independent: He goes his own way, unless with friends. (not sure if that would be considered a "strength")
Weaknesses:
Easily distracted: He can't pay attention for very long.
O.C.D.: He has to have some things perfectly or else he freaks out.
Afraid of water: If he's in really deep water he starts to panic, the Abbey pond shallows are fine, but places like lakes or the ocean are terrifying.
Headstrong: His independence can get the better of him, he'll sometimes do things without thinking about how they'll affect others.
Lack of endurance: He can't run or do any physical activity for very long.
Not very strong: He can't lift heavy objects.
Anger issues: When gets angry he vents it out in extreme ways.
History:
Ash was born in an rowan tree in Mossflower Woods to Fat Daddy Rowan, chief of a small squirrel tribe. An only child... biologically, that is. Shortly after he was born, his mother was killed by a vermin named Hilte Graypaw. His father vowed to avenge her. Three seasons later, his father rescued a mousebabe named Violet from a pike when he was fishing in the River Moss, and they adopted her.
Ash learned archery from his father, but Violet was never very good at it. At six seasons Ash got pneumonia. Five seasons later, Hilte's band wiped out the entire tribe, except Ash, Fat Daddy, and Violet, and Fat Daddy cut off Hilte's left paw. They found refuge in multiple places e.g: with the Guosim shrews, and multiple other groups. Five seasons after that, Fat Daddy got so overweight that he fell out of a tree and died, leaving 13 season old Ash, and 10 season old Violet to fend for themselves in the vermin infested wilderness. Ash took on his father's vow (and eventually fulfilled it).
They had to cook for themselves, and care for their own injuries. They encountered some vermin from time to time, usually running away at first sight. One specific group was a foraging party of 10 from Ferno Bluefang's ship led by the bosun, Freyg Platil. Ash and Violet were almost overrun, but a small tribe of hedgehogs saved them and Ash knocked out Freyg. They tied him up and left him, nobeast knows what happened to him.
Four season later of traveling, fighting vermin, and overall rough stuff, they were in the North Mountains when they heard of a place of peace where they would be safe called Redwall Abbey. On the way there they came across an orphaned harebabe, whom they named Shara (SHAYR-a). Later that season, they made it to Redwall, where they spent the rest of their lives. But is that all there is? You'll just have to find out!
