(((Onyxwing here! New account )))
Name: Turegk Harath Aigianon (The Grim Reaper)
Gender: M
Age: 25
Species: Golden Eagle
Occupation: Aerial Combat Specialist
Physical Appearance: Strikingly fierce, Turegk has eyes that could cause just as much damage as the sword-like talons and razor sharp beak that they guide to their target. He is covered in brown plumage with amounts of golden brown throughout his feathers. The under sides of his wings are strikingly white with brown tufts weaving throughout. On the tips of his yellow talons rest large, black claws that purposely betray their use to all. Turegk keeps his feathers extremely clean, all the better to chase his prey with.
Possessions
Although he is a bird, Turegk wears a harness that leaves his wings and talons free, but provides extra ammunition (Spears, stones, hot coals, hollow dried “Bread loaves” of mud and sharp rocks that shatter on impact. He also carries a long black ribbon that he ties around his left talon as his mark “The Grim Reaper”. The only advanced gear he carries is the avian equivalent of a sword, a pair of metal claws held together by adder skin straps. They are specially tempered for his feet and when he is not using them, they are carried in his harness or held by the straps in his talons. The claws are primarily used for combat with other, large animals, or with armored foes (A cracked talon hurts and loses its effectiveness).
Personality:Although a force to be reckoned with in battle, Turegk is usually quite relaxed. He enjoys life to its fullest and prefers to avoid conflict in day to day life. He can normally be found basking in the sunlight, or preening in some high nook. Turegk can find it hard to let anything go, most notably grudges, and vermin. Turegk hates most beasts that stay on the side of evil because of his past with them as employers. Turegk enjoys meat more than any kind of food, but, he prefers to eat vermin and birds, eating any good beasts would be wrong in his book (Well maybe most of the time)
Strengths:
Flight: Unrivaled in the skies is the Bird of Prey
Eyesight: Turegk can see much farther than most beasts
Combat Minded: Turegk can assess a combat situation from afar, and know what to do
Terrifying Presence: A double edged sword that continually makes itself known. In battle Turegk is feared up and down the ranks, his very presence can lead to the instant routing of troops. After all, Eagles are good!
Weaknesses:
Farsighted: Along with being able to see distant objects clearly, Turegk has problems seeing things up close
Eating: His tastes are a bit... Frightening for most beasts.
Using most objects: When you have talons, using things meant for paws isn’t easy!
Terrifying Presence: A double edged sword that continually makes itself known. Most beasts absolutely lose their wits whenever he is near. After all, Eagles are evil!
History: On a harsh island in the Northern Seas, with its sparse resources the only food was located to the south in a small bay, the only fertile soil on the desolate wasteland. Armies fought for control over the fields, the victors thriving, the defeated succumbing to the cold. The method that had so far been employed to seize this soil was to hire to mercenaries. Not just any mercenaries, but those who ruled the sky.
Turegk was born into one such clan of mercenaries, numbering in the fifties, they were a smaller group, but the only of their kind, Eagles. As soon as he could fly, Turegk was training, his father was a great warrior and Turegk was expected to be the best around. He rapidly excelled at his training and flew his first sortie at age 17. He continued flying missions until age twenty when a mission went horribly wrong…
Turegk was free, he never felt free unless he was in the skies. He enjoyed the thrill for a brief moment and then returned to the task at hand. He was leading a group of twenty falcons on a strafing (Air to ground) attack on a movement of troops through a pass. If those troops made it through it would doom their current employer’s army. As he approached the mass of troops, something fluttered out of their ranks. A large black mass made their way towards Turegk’s attack formation cawing loudly. “Stay together!” Turegk shouted to his group. The larger birds were quickly overrun by the smaller nimble crows, which sent several falcons down. Turegk managed to break free and drop his hindering load, swatting three crows to earth before more mobbed him. They had been ambushed! Turegk fought his way out of the cloud with the pitiful remnants of his team, only four falcons had survived.
As he arrived at the clan’s eyrie, shamed by his father he fell into a fitful sleep before waking up early in the morning and leaving the island for the Mainland. He took only his equipment and knowledge of warfare.
After hitching a ride on a good beast’s ship, and sinking a vermin ship, Turegk finally arrived at the lands of Mossflower. He quickly established himself as an honorable mercenary, and soon made his way to Salamandastron, where he helped to fight a small vermin band off. As his reputation grew he soon found himself traveling more and more (Hey, when you can make it to Redwall from Salamandastron in a day, why waste it?)Soon everyone knew him by the name of “The Grim Reaper” or “The Eagle” or sometimes “Don’t eat me!”
Turegk will show up nearly anywhere there’s a fight. He will usually offer his skills to the side he deems in the right.
Relationships:
Father- Unknown
Mother-Unknown
Clan-Alive
Goodbeasts-alive
Other
I plan to keep Turegk somewhat away from the Mossguard (A badger and an eagle fighting for the same team isn’t really fair). I plan on using him mainly in the Salamandastron region or perhaps up north or near the coast. He may visit Redwall, but probably not during any battles.
