Name: Akain Redeyes
Gender: Male
Age: 53
Species:Fox
Occupation: Mercenary
Physical Appearance:
Akain is a tall, well built fox with greying fur. Half of his left ear is missing, and there is a long scar running close to his eye. He usually wears a snow-white tunic and a black bandanna tied across his arm. His namesake eyes have significantly dulled since his youth, although they have gained a much sharper look. In times of war, he wears a steel breastplate over his usual clothes.
Possessions:
He carries a large battle axe, and a light satchel of supplies, and a small bottle of poison his deceased sister made for him. They never got on well, but she was his sister.
Personality:
Akain lives for one thing, and one thing only. War. He longs for the thrill of fighting for his life, the raw rush of surviving. That, and he can't stand peace. He feels so... useless. As if he was an antique weapon placed on a shelf, to gather dust.
Strengths:
Akain has lived for war his entire life, and naturally, he has accumulated a large repertoire of strategies and battle plans.
Weaknesses:
Akain was strong, but he's old now, and like all things, with age comes diminished strength. Nowhere near his youth, but otherwise still strong; although it's becoming harder to swing his axe with each passing season.
His greatest weakness is his desire for war. If there isn't war, he'll either leave in search of it, or start one himself if he thinks it's possible. This desire will likely be the end of him... and that's exactly what he wants.
History:
Raised in tumultuous times in a family of warriors, his lust for battle was seen as normal, and actually nurtured. His father, who was part of a travelling horde wasn't around much so he was raised by his mildly senile grandfather, who taught him how to use a weapon, how to move in armour and general combat techniques.
The duo travelled the world, in search of conflict to quench their thirst. She created poisons, and cures to the plagues she inflicted, and he fought in just about every war they came across. Eventually, she was killed by the poisons she created. Akain wasn't good at reading so he couldn't tell which bottle would cure her, and actually gave her a more fatal dose.
Getting on with his life rather quickly, Akain served with a horde for a small while, until the warlord made the mistake of settling down and forming his own fort. This aggravated the war-loving fox, and he incited a rebellion in, as he put it, revenge. The rebellion failed, and Akain fled.
He, and a small group of other vermin, once encountered a badger; they sustained considerable casualties, and Akain was almost blinded, but they managed to kill him with difficulty. This was not enough for him, and he holds a long-standing grudge against the badger race.
And this is where he finds himself, wandering along, in search of the war that will finally kill him, just like his ancestors.
