((As I'm fairly new here, and new to my appointment, I'd like to open this to all so that Marian can meet her new 'family'. ^_^ Especially she'd love to meet the Abbess and Champion, if they're available. Thanks!))
Marian's whiskers twitched as she padded heavily down the wide stoors leading into Cavern Hole. All day she had devoted to learning the Abbey. It was nearly lunchtime, and she was already amazed at the beautiful place she had decided to settle down in. The legends of the Abbey she had heard from many along her travels from her home in the valley, but already her eyes were shining with amazement.
"So this is...hmm, I wonder what it's called," said Marian, musing to herself.
The large badger ducked her head as she entered the large room, which had some vestiges of morning tea on the table. She waved to a shy mouse sister that was clearing off a platter.

((ooc: Greetings. -waves- ^^ Abbess at your service. Do you wish to RP Marian getting the job out In Character? 'Cause I can do that. -chuckles- No problem here.))
"It is the Cavern Hole"
Ever alert ears picked up everything...though it was a bother sometimes. Headaches for one, the odd migraine. The ancient fox's long, bat-like ears, drooped slightly with age as she appeared behind the badger. It was very much used to in the Abbey. Such a frail beast could wander unsuspectingly behind all...though it was rather nerving to newcomers.
But Abbess Gale's kindly grey eyes combined with a wide smile plastered on her features forever made others think twice about reproaching the elder.
A badger...so long since I have seen one she glanced up at the regal beast. So Redwall was blessed this nearing winter with a badger's arrival. What news would this traveler bring? So long since the Abbey got news of the outside even.
The thin muzzle of the elder titled side-ways to glance at the table behind the badger. Was this traveler hungry? Though it was nearing noon, she would make a special exception for anybody that had just come a long way to the Abbey.
"You are welcome to go down to the kitchens for some food, if you wish" the Abbess said, paused, then added. "I am Abbess Gale. If we have met before...I am terriblely sorry...I am growing far too old. My memory is just as elderly as I look. Would you care to bestow upon me your name?"

A mouse sat in a corner finishing up a late breakfast they he had just picked up from the kitchen. Looking up at the badger he smiled. Quickly finishing up his meal he set his plate on one paw and walked over to the abbess and the badger. Smileing at both of them he held his paw out to the badger. "Welcome to the abbey friend. I am William, protector and champion of this abbey."
