Flit had followed the river for a few days in hope of finding his companion, without avail as Maris was nowhere to be seen. He had hoped his companion would have had enough sense to follow the river, but he was beginning to doubt it. In time he was on his way through the woods, hoping to follow his comrade’s trail. The weather had been decent, cold but decent, he was comparing them to the stormy day that had recently passed. Through and through Flit pushed onward finding half excuses for vittles along the way, not great food but good enough to survive on.
Soon the Squirrel approached a rocky lift in the ground, it was not too high but was enough that Flit could not see over it. He hoped it'd be a field, or some kind of escape from the wretched Mossflower woods. He was so hopelessly lost since he left the river. Taking the butt of the spear, Flit used it to support his way up the rocky uprising. Luckily he still had his weapon, he hated to think how he'd be fairing without it. Once reaching the top, the squirrel sighted a large quarry. "Wretch!" the squirrel shouted, his voice echoing through the deserted place. He further inspected the area deciding that it was not the most friendly looking place. "A tad bit dreary here, half expect some mad beast to jump out from behind one of these rocks." Prodding a large piece of sandstone before he began his decent into the quarry.
