Duty and Friendship

Freya nodded slightly. She tried to get her mind off of the depressing subject. She had known Darkhawk for a long time and knew that he had his stages of being extremely pesimistic and at some intances optimistic.
"Speaking of tea...I could go for some...would you wish to join me?"

Ashstripe scratched his head in thought, tea? Who spoke of tea? He shrugged internally, he could sure use a drink though. He gazed out onto the Horizon, the sun was rising, not too early for a drink of his kind then.
"Tea? Nay, but I be willin' to hae a drink with ye." He smiled devilishly, any excuse to have a drink to drown out reality was fine by him.

Freya merely smiled, knowing that she had successfully changed the topic. She nodded after a moment.
"That would be good...What type of drink do you have?" asked Freya curiously.

[Ashstripe]

"Ales. Fine October Ale, fine color and scent, brewed many a season ago.." Ashstripe sighed contentedly as he pictured his favorite drink, funny he had never even tried the stuff before he became Lord of the Mountain; then again ever since he became Badger Lord he had been gradually adapting many obsessions and addictions, small wonder with the company he keeps.

"October Ale... At home, we had some something that would pretty much knock you into next week...Strong stuff..." said Freya as she walked down the hall.
"I think I would like to try some of the, October Ale...Is it good?"

Is it any good? Those words stunned Ashstripe as if Freya had just hit him in the jaw; hard. The very notion that his favorite brew could be anything short of perfection was absurd in his eyes, the very notion that anyone could question such a statement was even more absurd,
"Any good? Lass, I'll have to educate ye in such matters.." He ushered Freya quickly down the hall, eager to enlighten her of the glory of his favored drink; not too mention he was running a bit thirsty himself.

Freya laughed slightly as she felt herself usered quickly into the hall.
"I suppose that this October Ale is perfection in a cup then..." she said as she walked faster, slightly curious to what delight that the beverage could bring.

Ashstripe nodded briskly, perfection in a cup and nothing short of it. Though many failed to share his sentiments. He motioned to Freya to have a seat and quickly moved out to pour himself and Freya a mug each; it was quite obvious to tell that he hadn't drunk any in a fair amount of time.

A few moments later he returned brandishing two simple mugs both containing the sparkling brown liquid which Ashstripe cherished so much, he plopped himself down with the beverages. It was one of his unwritten laws to let the guest drink first especially in a situation such as this where enlightenment was at hand.

Freya smiled as she saw the sparkling brown liquid in the mud. She stared at it for a moment before grabbing the handle. Then, after a moment, she drank some of the liquid. She was at first suprised at the taste, never really had tasted anything in her life quiet like it.
"...It's...It's...Wonderful!" she said as she drank more October Ale.

Ashstripe grinned, another beast has seen the light.
"Aye tis' is as ye say, perfection in a cup." He replied heartily and quickly took a long gulp from his mug, this was his first drink of the day and hopefully not his last.
