Darkhawk was quiet as smiled slightly. "I would love to see the world threw your eyes...To see heroes of my past...Alas, I find it hard." Darkhawk stood up, and started to walk, each step looking heavy and pain stricken. He stretched his arms for a moment, as they became slightly stiff from working out. "Hay Ashstripe....Do you mind...uh..." muttered Darkhawk, slightly still scare as he scrached his head. He might get upset if I asked... "...What is it like to have a real family?"

Ashstripe stood silent for a moment, a grin was there but it was weak and hollow. He sighed deeply and eventually chuckled, though contrary to the grin it was genuine. It was as if he had remembered all the pain and loss that came with his past, but that was quickly destroyed with the wave of positive memories that he had, memories of wrestling with his many siblings, memories of his first pup of his own, his mate; 'Bonnie' he had dubbed her..Yes..Those were happy times whilst they lasted.
He smiled again, "'Tis...Hard to describe...It be something we take for granted...Only when it be gone do we look back and realize how happy we truly were." He muttered slightly. It would appear that Darkhawk wasn't the only one making revelations about himself.

Darkhawk was quiet as he listened to Ashstripe. "Sounds like those are good memories." replied Darkhawk as he began to walk away, looking down, staring at his feet. "I wish I knew how it was like..." muttered Darkhawk as walked towards the door.

Ashstripe shook his head, that did more harm then good. But he quickly found a solution for the little situation as a grin formed once more on his aged features, "Family dunnae require blood tae be bound." He smiled again, his northern accent making a rare appearance despite his efforts at repressing it in order to be more understandable for the hare's. As in the past, it had lead to misunderstandings with rather violent results.

Darkhawk turned to look at Ashstripe, pausing for a long moment. He was quiet looking away as he yeowned, a sudden wave of tireness comming over him. "Ashstripe...Will you lend me your strength? The stength to do what I have to?"

Ashstripe grinned recklessly once more and placed a rough hewed paw on Darkhawk's shoulder once more, "Tis' always been there, ye simply never took the effort t'recieve it lad." He replied rather sternly, his strength was everyone's, so long as they shared similar intentions; which was one of the reasons he became the Badger Lord, contrary to Breeze's belief that he signed up for the ale.

Darkhawk tried to smile but found it extremely hard as worry still clouded his mind. He closed his eyes for a moment. He held back his tears as he looked away. Soon...Soon the day approaches, my destiny is soon being forfilled...oh so much do I wish that it wasn't so...I'm sorry Freya...I'm sorry, everyone. "When the days comes...You will be ready to do what needs to be done..." asked Darkhawk quietly as he stopped dead in his tracks, "...Are you willing to do anything for the enemy to finally fall?"

Ashstripe frowned, what sort of question is that? Obviously Darkhawk wasn't letting on the complete story, of course Ashstripe was willing to sacrifice nearly everything for the fall of the enemy, it was unconditional to him, as he had already lost some of his kin to the war; himself was the next step.
He nodded uneasily, still unsure of what 'anything' meant. His instinct didn't like it and neither did he.

Darkhawk closed his eyes for a moment as he returned a nod. He was silent for a moment before placing his claws on the stone wall. "That's good..." he replied in a hollow, almost melancholy way. His face seemed drained of emotion, or at least and happy emotion, as uncertainy and a sence of sadness. "...Promise me this...That no matter what happens, you will do what is nessissary..."

Ashstripe folded his arms and gave a stern, uneasy look, "Tell me, what is it that be necessary?" He dodged the question, he didn't like the direction it was going in the least. His brow furrowed and his lips pursed, would this be worth it?

Darkhawk turned away walking a few steps away, grabbing his sword. He spun it slightly as he sheathed it. He turned to look at Ashstripe. "....Just promise me...." said Darkhawk trying to dodge answering it. He looked at Ashstripe, almost pleadingly.

"Anything comes in many forms..." Quarrel responded from the doorway to the room. He had been there a while, listeningto their conversation. "The value of 'Anything' can mean from the worth of the lives within Salamandastron to the lives of the earth. If the world were to slay itself than it would profit no one. Thus, it would not be worth it, would it?"

Ashstripe had nearly given his reply only to nearly leap back in sheer surprise at Quarrels interruption, he frowned uneasily, as was his natural reaction to an awkward situation. "Salamandastron's very existence is for the protection of Mossflower.."He muttered, "We cannot lose our purpose.." He knew it wouldn't come to the destruction of Mossflower...At least he hoped it wouldn't come to that. He was still unsure of what to make of the comment made by Quarrel, he did have a point there after all.

Darkhawk was quiet as he used the confuson to start to leave. He paused for a momeny, his head down as he paused for a moment seeing his reflection. Quietly, Darkhawk looked away as he walked past Freya, who glanced at him. She paused for a moment, just sighing slightly. "Hey, Ashstripe." Said Freya as she walked into the training room glancing over to see Quarrel. She leaned against the wall and glanced at Ashstripe again. "Is Darky being diffecult again?" She asked Ashstripe, taking a deep breath as if she was frusterated.

Quarrel, who was feeling slightly frustrated himself, mauttered under his breath. -That didn't go well- He thought in the back of his mind. -Still, I may get a more convenient chance to talk to him- Turning to Ashstripe, he apologized for his interuption of their private conversation. "I am sorry, sir. I did not mean to make things difficult. My intentions were only for the better." It was then that Freya antered, inquiring about her companian. Deciding that he had done enough damage already, he allowed Ashstripe to asnswer.

Ashstripe smiled at Quarrel's apology, in all honesty he really didn't see the need for such a thing. But then again he was never one for apologies and other formalities such as that. He winced noticeably as Freya questioned their conversation, "No more then usual." He replied uneasily, if he could help it he didn't want to further strengthen the tension that was already in existence.

"I see..." she said sighing slightly to herself. "...Anyway, I sent a letter to my home in the northern part of the country...So...my allies there should be replying soon enough." Freya smiled slightly to try and lighten the mood. "So...Ashy...You seem to be up rather early...you to...um...You name is?" said Freya as her attention to Quarrel.

"That be of good news." Ashstripe nodded approvingly with a grin to compliment, the more beasts dragged into this conflict on his side the better. "Nay more early then the norm." He replied slowly, as if the words had finally entered his head; despite the fact that this was the most sleep he had attained in a long period of time it still wasn't a healthy amount.

Freya nodded as she tried to smile. She walked over to the window staring out to the blue sky that streched on as far as she could see. Their was a icy chill in the air as she closed her eyes for a moment, forcing back tears. "I worry about him...You know?" she said quietly as she turned to look at Ashstripe. "He takes on a burden that no beast should ever bare, alone anyways... Now with Rosethorn back in his life...I fear that he will run away again...and this time...he'll never come back."

Ashstripe stroked his chin somewhat in thought, reflecting upon past events. True, he did bear a heavy burden but most of it seemed self-inflicted. He gave a slight 'hmph' at his own thoughts, the mental metaphor reminded him of himself, too stubborn to accept help, but like he was going to admit that anytime soon.
"Tis' would appear t'be self-inflicted somewhat..Aye, a weight can be shared, but he dubs being crushed tae be preferable." He replied after finishing with his reflection.
