((ooc: Open to all and as such; join in at any time! ^_^))
"Whew..."
A snow-white paw came up to a small head, flicking off specks of sweat from the traveler's brow. Large black eyes gazed up at the looming gates of Redwall in the near distance, coming closer with each step he took. Past dawn, and half a day of traveling through Mossflower...it all brought him here. He had no real purpose going to the Abbey, besides not visiting in seven years...or was it more than that? Eh. He didn't keep track.
"Eatin' me alive, these bugs!" he mumbled under his breath, but the lean creature did not raise his paws against the buzzing bees that had withstanded the autumn's reign. They were good for other beasts; collecting honey and such. Honey was also good with sore jaws. Couldn't harm bees, now could he?
Raising a brown crown to the sky, he checked his time. The traveler would get to there in a few minutes. To the gates and beyond! ...And what came after that? Would anybody remember the uncertain, inexperienced weasel? Not really. Been awhile. But in that previous creature's place was a full Healer. Redwall always welcomed Healers...
But...he was a weasel. Often he had ignored the glares he got from goodbeasts, as he was a goodbeast himself. But others were still wary of him.
"Ouuff!"
Curses. While lost in thought, he had collided head on with the gate door of the Abbey. So it was closer than he had thought. But...that wasn't good! He now had a sore nose. Rubbing it, the weasel bit his tongue to stop himself from crying out in pain. Very sensitive he was to pain.
"Err...Ello up there? I'm Ah-Dol. Ah-Dol, a Healer. Come to seek hospitality in Redwall Abbey"
His call echoed up, but no response. Frowning, he glanced back at the unwelcoming path. A few uncertain steps back; he had to move back so the beasts inside could see him in plain view. But what next...?

"Whuzzat, mate?" A furry white head popped over the battlements, the great snout of an adult wolfess peering down at him. She was a scruffy beast, her long mane of fur tied back in a tail at the nape of her neck. Though she appeared fearsome, a toothy, but well-meaning grin split her sharp-toothed maw almost comically. "Summat about a doll?"

((ooc: Yarrrh. Rper's block.))
"Doll?"
It took awhile for Ah-Dol to get the humor behind the statement. He pondered on wiether the wolf was hard of hearing or just mocking his name. Then he broke out in a small grin. Finally. Flicking his tail behind him in a friendly matter, the weasel called up once more.
"No dolls here, miss. My name is Ah-Dol, a traveling Healer. I'm hoping to seek some shelter in your Abbey...if you'd let me."
For a callin'...his voice was rather soft-spoken, as if he didn't want to raise his tone so much. Ah well. He could still be heard, especially by a wolf. Black eyes peered at the she-wolf's appearance; he didn't remember her from when he visited long ago. She was quite new to him. Then again, many beasts will be once or if he got into the Abbey.

"Ah, that'd be it, now wouldn't it?" She chuckled at her own mistake, "Well, Ah-Dol th' 'ealer, iffens y'don't mean enny 'arm past fizzickin' pore beasts' tongues swollen, I suppose we might as well let ye in, eh?" Aeorys' head disappeared as she descended the stairs, "Sit tight thar, shipmate, I'm comin'--"
A surprised yelp, followed by a dull thud, could be heard as the bumbling wolf tripped and tumbled down the final few steps. Dibbuns giggled as she rose, and she glared at the babes with a feigned sense of hatred. Breaking into a sudden grin - she was a favorite amongst the little ones for her affability - the seafaring creature lifted the heavy bolt, shoving one of the heavy gates open to admit the healer.
"Welcome t'Redwall, mate!"

"Oh no, you found me out" the weasel raised both paws above his head in mock despair. "I'm here to cause tummy aches, not prevent them, and slip herbs into all your ale to give you a deadly diease that render you lot coughing up your inners."
He once again pondered. This time over the meaning of 'shipmate'. Ship...there was no ships here. 'Specially not in a woodland of all places. But he didn't have much time; the gates swung open to accept him. Jumping back to let them pass, he peered inside then looked at the she-wolf.
"Welcome back to Redwall" he softly corrected her with a weak smile. "I was here long ago, when only an apprentice. This place hasn't changed...save for the creatures inside."
A few uncertain steps. Those broke into stronger ones soon enough. He passed by the gates and walked up to the she-wolf, gazing sheepishly at the many Abbeybabes that seemed to come and go as if vanishing. He could be dogpiled, then the Dibbuns would vanish after a second. It was nerving.
"I didn't catch your name, friend..." he added, tearing his gaze away from the welcoming Abbey. First kindly introductions.

Drecas watched with curiosity and maybe even a bit of timidity as the gates opened and the weasel walked in. Noting the backpack and various pouches the weasel posessed, as well as the fact he carried no weapons, the squirrel figured the newcomer was safe and meant no harm to anyone. He approached the two cautiously, waiting to see if they were busy greeting each other first, before he decided to introduce himself to the newcomer.

[ Lavender - You may have up to 4 profiles on one account. Feel free to make any number (so long as you don't go inactive on them) of alt accounts as you wish.] "Ah, back it'd be then! I'd shake yer paw, but ye look fair shaken enough, eh?" A soft chuckle accompanied these words as she closed the gate, fastening the bar securely back in place. "Jes' joshin', mate. I'm Aeorys, though ye kin call me Aeo iffens ye wish it - might've missed ye when ye were 'ere - lotsa seafarin' is wot I do! I'm sure yore probably 'ungered - most beasts are - an' iffens ye've been t'Redwall before, I'm sure ye 'aven't forgotten th' grand vittles we've got 'ere, eh!" She took a casual pace, stooping to swing a giggling Dibbun aloft and onto her broad shoulders. "Come on, then - I'm sure somebeast's bound t'know ye."

Drecas had missed a lot of the conversation between the two, and so was hesitant about how he should introduce himself. Suddenly his nose caught the mild scent of herbs coming from the newcomer's pouches. Could this beast have an interest in herbalism too?, Drecas thought to himself.
Noticing himself staring at the weasel's pouches, he quickly shook his head and snapped back to reality. "H-hello there," the squirrel stammered, never good at meeting new people, "My name is Drecas 'Rehvis. I happen to be the infirmary keeper around here." He smiled, slightly more confident now, and curious as to what response this might elicit from the weasel.

((ooc: Yeah! ^^ When you make your character; come on in, Lavender. -nods- We'll be happy to have you.))
Ah-Dol gave a weak smile to the she-wolf. "Actually...didn't have time to eat on me last visit. Busy with stuff" he explained, though the mention of good food made his mouth water. Been awhile since he last ate, travelin' as long as he did. He blinked, tilting his slender neck in puzzlement. "aye...maybe, but...I don't think I'd remember them. I was stuck inside for two days with me paws full. No time to stop and make friends. Oh...it'll be embarrassing if they knew me and I didn't them..."
The weasel looked positively horrified at the thought of such a thing, almost shameful. He bowed his head, shaking it. It was then he caught a sniff of a squirrel nearby. Fresh. Frowning, Ah-Dol raised his head, about to question Aeorys when another beast suddenly strode up, the squirrel, and started to speak.
Oh my...I'm not used to so much attention... his black eyes darted anywhere but where the squirrel and she-wolf where. One beast was fine. Two and more was company. He didn't like so many.
"O-Oh, really?" he replied after a silence, scratching a spot of fur on his chest in awkwardness. The weasel was rather relieved that the squirrel introduced himself; atleast he didn't remember his visit from long ago. Fhew. "Er. I'm Ah-Dol the Healer. Nice to meet you, Master Drecas the Infirmary Keeper and Miss Aeorys whom likes to be called Aeo." he ducked his head in a short bow. He gazed around, half wondering if more beasts were prone to gather.

Drecas nodded his head when he heard Ah-Dol's introduction. "I guessed as much," He said, smiling, "It's good to meet you. I'm actually quite new to the position of Infirmary Keeper, so there's a few beasts here and there that I don't know yet."
Drecas hesitated, unsure how to touch on the subject of the weasel's profession. "So... you said you were a healer, is that correct? Am I right in assuming you have an interest in herbs?" He smiled genuinely as he asked this question. The squirrel was always eager to discuss his herbal discoveries with like-minded beasts.

((Pokes fingers together... Hope y'don't mine if I join, eh?))
Wynn walked out of the Great Hall doors and onto the courtyard, where he saw Drecas, Aeo, and some other beast -a Weasel. He started to walk up to them, wishing he had taken off his weapons and put on something else other than his black tunic and black cloak. He tripped as a molemaid and a squirrelbabe stuck a stick in front of his footpaws and tripped him, and grumbled some curses under his breath as they ran off giggling like crazy beasts. Dusting himself off, he smiled and put on his best behavior, thought it was hard for a beast in thei adolescent years to do so.
"Ah! So there's more beasts comin' ter Redwall I can see." He walked up to beside Drecas and nudged him with his elbow. "Looks like ye got yerself a buddy in the arts of herbilism, eh friend?" He said with a smile. He looked to the weasel and bowed his head in greeting, giving an elegent leg. "'Ello friend. M'name's Wynn Jimpala Simorgh! Short-time Abbey-Dweller, and Wanderer-cum-Vermin Hunter. Or slayer, whichever you would prefer." He said standing back upright again.

((ooc: I'll go look at your new profile soon, Lavender. ^^ Perhaps I can accept it without you changing anything so you can rp your lovely new charrie! And no, Wynn, you can join. -chuckles-))
"More to healing than herbs" Ah-Dol replied with a light shrug. True, there was fixing broken bones, stitching and the likes. Herbs where only a part of it. "err...new, you say? I hope you do well, then." he added, tail flicking behind him.
Vermin...hunter? his black eyes shot toward the fox, fur bristling in uncertainty, light disgust and disapproval. The weasel couldn't understand why any beast would want to take up that job. Leave the other beasts alone. Don't call them vermin; it's degrading. Seperates them from the others. Racism. The likes.
"You don't say? Some beasts think that weasels are vermin, hm?" he muttered, eyes moving up and down the fox's body. The smell of metal was upon him. "and others believe foxes are vermin as well. Take kindly to thought on who you call friend or foe."
He turned back to Drecas and Aeo, mainly the squirrel, whom he sensed had keen interest in talking to him. "Living in this Abbey...you don't get much injuries. I bet it's pretty peaceful. How long have you...studied healing?"

Wynn looked through narrowed emerald eyes at the weasel and curled his lip. "I make wise choices, and I know us weasels and foxes are generally known for being vermin. Lucky for you I was not raised in that way but instead by hedgehogs who knew they way of goodbeasts." He clenched his paws into fists and breathed through his nose heavily, but stopped after a few seconds, realizing he had lost control of himself again. He looked away through half-lidded eyes and pawed at the tail-ring with the emerald embedded in it at the base of his tail.

"Easy, mate. 'e's jes' a liddle 'igh-strung - just got 'ere, eh?" The wolfess winked at the fox, "Too much attention, I'll wager. C'mon then, Wynn - let's gets summat t'eat from me sis an' leave the 'ealer types to their own business, an' ye kin tell me 'ow yore wanderin's were."

Wynn smiled meakly and nodded at Aeorys. "Alright then, I'm famished anyways." He looked back to the weasel and smiled as if nothing had happened. "G-bye! Nice meetin' ya! ... Err, somewhat." He started to walk off again towards the Abbey house and stapped one footpaw in front of the other carefully, all awhile looking to the ground.

[Say, Wynn, mate, want to carry the rest of this topic to the Kitchens?]
Aeorys giggled as they walked off, nudging Wynn playfully, but gently. "Oh ho, mate, didja see 'ow unsettled 'e looked when all of ye walked up? Whoah, I didn't think I'd ever meet anybeast as jumpy an' nervous as Raethiun, but 'ow wrong I was! Guess most 'ealer types're quiet'n'jumpy, eh?"

Wynn chuckled and nodded. "Guess they are like that. Especially Drecas. When you spend most of your time with him, you find out the real personality behind him." He smiled and opened the door to the building.
