Physical Appearance:
General--Possessions:
Ripclaw is a fearsome sight. He is short and squat, but he packs a lot of muscle into his smallish frame. He has a dark brown eye and the other is covered by a mussel shell patch with an eye painted on it to give the illusion that he never stops watching. He has dark brown fur with tinges of grey mixed in. The endurance he once had is slowly being depleted as he ages. He has a long scar on his left hand, from a fight where he grabbed a blade. His name is derived from that marking.
Attire--
Ripclaw wears a short black silk tunic with a v-neck which can be tightened up with attached strings. He wears white silk breeches and a dark green silk sash that hides a dagger. On his ship, he wears seaboots, but when he is on land, silken slippers. He also has a regal purple robe that is belted with a white silk cord. He wears this in his victory ceremony.
The aforementioned clothes; a short scimitar made of tempered steel found in a meteorite with a onxy pommel stone; A small dagger with an onxy colored pommel. A ships log that he keeps all records of his ship's voyages, stores, and plunder.Personality:
Ripclaw wants to get rich without much risk. He raids small coastal villages, and other undefended settlements. He is calculating too. He never enters a battle that he doesn't think he can't win. He doesn't say much unless it is in his favor to say it. He keeps a cool head, even in dire situations. He thinks he is a king and his crew is beneath him. He is racist toward all creatures who are not rats. He tolerates other vermin, because he needs them to help him get rich.Strengths:
Fighting prowess; navigation; cool-headednessWeaknesses:
Trust; statue phobia;lust for moneyHistory/Background:
Ripclaw was born to Maria, a rat prostitute, and a passing searat. He never knew his father, being raised by his mother. He grew up scrounging for food on the docks, his mother didn't care much about him. He grew up mean and developed his fighting skills on the streets. In the evenings he would sit and watch the ships coming in to dock for the night. He longed to be making money out there. He saved his coins and hoarded them. One night his mother found his stash, and demanded that he give them to her as payment for raising him. He punched his mother in the nose, and ran off, with only his coins and the clothes on his back.Relationships:
He rushed down to the docks and slipped onto a ship. He had no idea, but it was a pirate ship called the black death. He was discovered the next morning, but due to the fact he knocked two burly ferrets unconcious, the captain let him join the crew. He grew up on the crew and learned about sailing from the captain, Risku Danpor. He had an apptitude for navigating, and was promoted to Bosun when he was twenty three seasons old. He fought in many a battle, sustaining a few injuries, but making a lot of money in plunder. This he put under the floorboards beneath his hammock, for theivery was a way of life on the ship. He once bit a stoat's ear off for stealing a gold bracelet from him.
One battle about twelve seasons ago was particularly rough. It was against a bunch of mangy otters from some colored island. They had seemed like easy pickings, but the captain had made a mistake. By the end the black death's captain had been killed and the crew driven back to the deep water. There was now a power vaccuum, Ripclaw put his name into contention and said anyone who didn't like it could challenge him for the right to the captaincy. One beast stood up, a fox named Barque. Ripclaw fought tooth and nail, never letting the fox gain any advantage. Once his position was secured he led the crew on many successful raids, but was determined to kill those otters, who killed his mentor. They were also led by a female. That fact stung Ripclaw's pride. He normally wouldn't let that affect him, but for some reason it did.

Wasn't sure how many seasons had passed when the battle took place.
