Rorgus was running for his life. He raced along the path dodging back and forth as arrows and spears pelted the ground around him. One scraped his paw. He chanced a glance back, and saw the vermin chasing him. He saw a front-runner was catching up with him. Then it fell pierced by an arrow from its own companion. The fastest runners were in the back with bows, they would run forward shoot then pause reload, and shoot again. Rorgus kept running with all his might. He dodged off into the woods hoping to lose them. He dodged behind trees and back out. He was starting to slow down. He forced himself onward. He saw something glitter up ahead, all the sudden he knew what it was, water! If he could just get to the water he would be safe. Then something struck his paw, and he fell to the ground with a groan. One hundred feet to the water! He tried to drag himself to it. He was ten feet from the water when he blacked out. Rorgus woke with a head splitting headache. He looked around at his surroundings; he was tied with his back to a tree. He could not move an inch. Those vermin sure know how to tie a beast up. Thought Rorgus, he looked at the guard standing near him. It was a weasel; he looked big and strong but rather stupid. He looked over at the camp, with the glowing campfires. He saw a tent in the middle of the camp, and he thought it must be the leaders tent. The leader was a fox; he was tall and not very big. What he lost in size he gained in cleverness. He carried three throwing knives, and could use them very well. Rorgus discovered that they had taken his dirk away. The fox came over to Rorgus seeing him awake. “ What is your name? And where is it?” “ What are you talking about? I don’t see why I should tell you my name,” said Rorgus. “ You know what I am talking about. The stone” said the fox. What he meant by the stone was an Emerald that his father had passed down to Rorgus when he died. It had strange powers, and Rorgus treasured it because it was the only thing of his fathers. It was the reason the fox had killed his father, to get the stone, and he never got it, thus he is back again to get it. Rorgus kept it in his sling pouch, and he had colored the other rocks green so as to fool any beast trying to find the emerald. It was smooth like the others, and Rorgus had put a red dot on it so he could tell it apart but it was hard to find, and it would take a lot of looking if they didn’t know where to look. The fox began to search him, soon he came to the stone pouch and saw all the “Emeralds” He knew it was a trick and began looking through them. Rorgus had so skillfully painted them that you could not tell which were which. The foxes name was Saigon. “You’ll never find it Saigon.” Said Rorgus, Saigon knew that Rorgus could find out which one it was so he said. “ If you do not tell me which one it is I shall slowly boil you in that cauldron over there.” He pointed to a big cauldron full of water over a fire. “ You’ll never get it Saigon! I would sooner die than tell you which one it is. And you would never break it because then it would lose its power.” Saigon knew he spoke the truth, if he tested to see which on it is by breaking it then the emerald would lose its power. And that is why he wanted the emerald, he was trying to get a set of stones so that he could combine them and get power. The only one left was the emerald and he was going to get it! (If he could) Untie him from the tree and tie him up again. A rat and a stoat came forward and started untying him from the tree. They tied a rope around his waist and ran the rope over a tree branch that was hanging over the cauldron of boiling water. So that he was hanging over the pot so they could lower him into the water. “ You still have a chance!” Saigon shouted “ Tell me and I will spare your life” “ I will never tell you!” “Brave words, start lowering him” He said to the rat with the rope. The rat slowly started lowering him. Rorgus felt the hot steam rising from the cauldron. He was about two feet away from the cauldron when something hit him hard. He felt himself falling, he saw what had hit him it was an otter!

Danju Tobias Wildlough was totally oblivious. But that was normal for him. He sat on the bank of a river his hind paws splashing in the water. He giggled to himself was he watched the dying sunlight catch in the splashing water. Today was a good day. He had found lots of yummy berries to eat and he played with a little robin all day! A childish grin lit his face as he played with himself, but then he heard something behind him, check that..alot of somethings...
He turned around to see an otter dash through the trees. He was running from something..And he was running hard toward the water, a determined look on his face, but then what looked like an arrow hit the back of hit foot and he fell hard. Danju stood out of the water. He had to help that otter!
As Danju started toward the otter, a large group of vermin surrounded the down otter. The were binding him with rope and carrying him off. There was also this fox...Danju didn't like him....There were too many vermin for Danju. He knew if he attacked them he would be crushed! So Danju dived into the water. He knew he would be safe there!
From in the water Danju watched the vermin crew carry off the otter to a camp near the river. Danju climbed out of the water, shook himself off and climbed up a tree so he could hear what was going on....
“What is your name? And where is it?” “What are you talking about? I don’t see why I should tell you my name,” “You know what I am talking about. The stone” “You’ll never find it Saigon.” "If you do not tell me which one it is I shall slowly boil you in that cauldron over there.” “ You’ll never get it Saigon! I would sooner die than tell you which one it is. And you would never break it because then it would lose its power.” Untie him from the tree and tie him up again.“ You still have a chance! Tell me and I will spare your life” “ I will never tell you!” “Brave words, start lowering him”
From what Danju could tell. The otter tied to his tree had something that the fox wanted and wouldn't give it to him. Some sort of stone. Then the fox referenced the pot of boiling water. Danju's distracted mine sniffed the air and he quietly thought what kind of soup the fox was making...then he corrected himself. No food! Danju thought to himself. That fox is making otter soup!
The otter was forced to hang over the pot of water and the fox commanded a rat to lower the otter. Danju had to do something..NOW! Danju quickly jumped from tree to tree so that he was of good running distance. The then dropped out of the tree and he was in and sprinted toward the pot. Taking a large jump, Danju crashed into the other otter; shoving him out of the way of the pot. They flew over the edge of the pot and crashed to the ground.
The rat who was holding the other end of the rope was yanked up by the momentum of the falling otters and bonked his head on the branch knocking himself unconscious.
Danju groggily rolled of the other otter. "Ugh" He said. Danju had saved the other otter! But what Danju hadn't counted on was the fact that he tipped the pot over sideways. The boiling liquid rushed out of the pot. Thankfully not toward the other otter, but a bit did touch Danju's rudder. When it did Danju leaped up with a cry. "YAAOWWW!!!!!" Danju began hopping around blowing on his burnt rudder tip. He stopped bouncing around when he realized that he was still surrounded by vermin. His baby blue eyes widened. "Oh hot root..." Danju muttered to himself......

Rorgus felt a little groggy as he got up. He saw vermin running around the fire towards them. Some of the boiling water touched his paw, it jerked him out of his grogginess and burned his paw. He saw who had rescued him, it was an otter, he saw it dancing about holding its rudder. He looked around for his weapons and found them in the paws of a rat captain. He saw the other otter had a dagger, "quick toss me that dagger, hurry!" He was going to get his twin swords back!

Danju let go of his rudder vermin moved all around him. His ADHD focused him on save the other otter, and made him totally oblivious to how many vermin there really were. Danju backed up a bit. This wasn't going to be good.
Danju looked over to see the other otter get up. At least he was OK, Danju thought. The otter burned it's paw slightly on the still boiling water as it spread on the ground. The otter then looked from Danju to a rat and shouted at Danju....
"quick toss me that dagger, hurry!"
Danju looked down at belt. He had more than one dagger tucked away with his dirk. "Oh, all rightly then!" Danju said with a cheery smile. He took out two daggers. Looked at them, finally decided on the one in his right paw, and gently tossed it over to the other otter.
The toss was a light toss. It would gently land either in the otter's out stretched paw or right near it. After the otter would have caught the blade. Danju then pulled his own dirk to accompany the blade in his left paw. He then backed up toward the other otter. Wave his blade around, eying any vermin that decided to get ancy and try to get near them.

Rorgus caught the dagger as the other otter tossed it to him. Once he had it he dashed forward towards the rat with his weapons. He threw the dagger and killed the rat. He reached the dead rat and found his weapons, when he had fallen one of the swords had run the rat through so Rorgus had to pull it out. As he was pulling it out he saw a stoat running at him with sword in paw. Rorgus jerked his sword out of the dead rat and ran forward rolling beside the stoat and killing him with a slash as he rolled. He jumped up and stood back-to-back with tho other otter. " So how do you propose we get out of this one? Have you seen my bow anywhere? Those vermin seem to have taken it."

Danju watched as the other otter caught the blade and killed the rat that was holding two swords that looked like they weren't his. And when he did that he also took one of his swords out of the dead rat and killed an oncoming stoat. Danju whistled quietly to himself. Wow! This mate is good! Danju thought. Then his mind was brought back to reality as a weasel swiped at his head with a broken cutlass.
"Oy!" Danju said to the weasel as he slashed at him in the neck killing him. "That wasn't nice!" He continued to fight off the on coming vermin as the other otter came over and they fought back-to-back. Danju grumbled to himself...Why did every otter he meet have to be taller than him?
" So how do you propose we get out of this one?"
"Hum..." Danju said as he kicked out at a large rat. "That matey... is an interesting perdicament....." Danju looked up as he said this. he could easily get out of here by whiffling off through the trees, but he wasn't sure this otter could.."So matey, of who's-name-I-know-not-yet, How good are ye at treewhifflin'....."
"Have you seen my bow anywhere? Those vermin seem to have taken it."
"Bow?" Danju repeated. "Oh yeah! I got it! Keep your back to the tree!" Danju then did one of the most craziest things anybeast could possibly do, he put this other knife away, keeping dirk in paw, and charged the front line.
The very confused vermin watched as Danju leaped over the front rat and scurried among the vermin every now and then stabbing one and creating ciaos while saying.." Move it! Hey! Stop that! Coming through!"
"Ha!" He cried out. Jumping up to the trees. He caught one of the lower branches and pulled himself up. " I got it!" He shouted to the other otter, holding the bow in paw. Danju then scurried through the branches and dropped back down besides the otter. "Here you go!" Danju said triumphantly.
Danju then pulled out the dagger again and continued fighting like that whole thing never happened. "So matey.." Danju said absent minded. " Where did that fox you were arguing with go?" He said looking out over the croud of vermin...

Rorgus took the bow and strung it"Thank you. I don't know where that fox has gotten to." Rorgus looked around for the fox. "Wherever he is he won't get away! He's got my stone pouch. I must get it back." He saw the fox vanish behind a tree off in the woods. "Get out of here, you go up a tree, I have to catch Saigon!" With that he dashed off into the woods after the fox. He kept catching glimpses of the Saigon's tail as he dodged back and forth. Rorgus put on an extra spurt of speed, he was catching up with the fox. Soon he was able to see all of the fox then, he suddenly dissapeared. When Rorgus got to the place where the fox had dissapeared he found no traces of him. He looked around but found nothing. "Where has he gone?" Rorgus asked mostly talking to himself. But other ears were listening.

"Thank you. I don't know where that fox has gotten to. Wherever he is he won't get away! He's got my stone pouch. I must get it back."
"The pouch? Why?" Danju questioned as he smacked a rat across the face with his rudder. "Is there something special in it?"
"Get out of here, you go up a tree, I have to catch Saigon!"
"O.K.!" Danju said cheerfully as he watched the other otter run off into the forest. He then turned and waved to the vermin with a childish grin on is face. "Bye now mateys! I have to go now!"
And with that, Danju put his blades back into his belt and ran up the tree into the foliage. The stunned vermin looked up into the leaves trying to figure out why an otter would act like a squirrel.
Danju skimmed through the bows of the trees with lightning speed, not missing a step. Flashes of green and brown whisked by his as he raced along. He was picking up a good speed when he stopped. He saw a sparkle of green upon the ground! Leaping down from the tree, he walked over to pick it up.
The shiny object was a curious green stone. Danju liked the way it sparkled in the sun and placed it in his belt pouch. He then grabbed a lower branch and went back to following his new friend, when he was stopped again. Another one!
Danju dropped to the ground again to pick up another green stone just like the first. Strange, Danju thought to himself, but he didn't think much more about it when he spotted another under a bush.
Climbing back into the trees once again Danju whisked on for a second or two to find his otter friend standing in a little glade taking to himself...
"Where has he gone?"
Danju wrapped his hind legs around the branch he was on and he let his torso fall downward so he hung right next to the otter.
"Well," Danju said, his scarf falling into his face as he was upside down. "From what I can see up here, he's over a that way," Danju explained, pointed off to the east. "But he must be in a real hurry, cause he keeps a dropping these shiny stones..Ooo Lookie! Another one!"
Danju swung himself upward and then dropped to the grown on all fours. Then he walked over to a small clump of grasses and picked up yet another green stone. "He dropped three others a while back..." Danju said as he watched the stone sparkle in the sun; his eyes dazzling with the light "They are rather pretty though....."

"Stones? Where? What color are they?" He followed the way the other otter pointed. He found another stone a little further along. He picked it up and examined it carefully then muttered to himself. "Nope not this one. Can I see those stones you picked up." Then he began to tell the story about the Emerald
When he finished he started walking along, following the trail of the fox. " So whats your name? Huh we haven't even introduced our self's. My name is Rorgus. Oh by the way thanks for saving me! I'm just a wanderer, I lived with my mother and sister for 18 years, then I went off wandering. And I ended up here, thanks to you. I am a pretty good tracker so we should be able to follow his trail easily enough with out chasing him. He will wear out and camp for the night, then we can catch up with him and get my stone pouch back. Rorgus kept glancing down at the ground as they walked.

"Stones? Where? What color are they?"
Danju showed the otter the stone he had found. "They are a pretty green color! See how they sparkle in the light?..Shiny...." Danju said as he spun the smooth stone in his paw.
"Nope not this one. Can I see those stones you picked up."
"Hum?" Danju said as he looked up from the sparking stone. "Oh! The others! They're right here in my pouch!" Danju picked the other three stones out of his little belt pouch and handed them over to the otter.
Danju tried to listen to the story as well as his ADHD mind would allow him too. Every now and then his mind would fade in and out, but he got the jest of the story the otter told. Apparently these pretty stones were fake Emeralds and the real one had a special power and the fox wanted that power so he was trying to steel the real one.
When the otter was done with the story he began to walk in the direction of the fox, still keeping conversation...
"So whats your name? Huh we haven't even introduced our self's. My name is Rorgus. Oh by the way thanks for saving me! I'm just a wanderer, I lived with my mother and sister for 18 years, then I went off wandering. And I ended up here, thanks to you. He will wear out and camp for the night, then we can catch up with him and get my stone pouch back."
Danju watched the ground with Rorgus then looked up as he responded. "Aw, silly of me, I should have introduced myself too! Danju Tobias Wildlough, Prince of Thieves at yer service!" He said with a sweeping bow, a childish grin upon his face.
"No need to thank me for anything, I only hope you would have done the same for me!" Danju's smile faded off his face as the thought about how to respond to Rorgus. "I really don't know where I'm going either. I really want to home back to my parents on Green Isle, but I don't know how to get back." Danju looked sad as he continued to talk, fingering his mother's charm around his neck; thinking about how he ad gotten here, the ship, the storm, the wildcat.......
Danju shook his head to get rid of the sad thoughts. He didn't want them now, not now..."Anyways," Danju said perking up a bit. "That sound like a good plan! But how are we going to get the pouch back? Surround him or something?"

"That sound like a good plan! But how are we going to get the pouch back? Surround him or something?"
"I've been thinking about that and I have a plan that should work. Now if we catch him sleeping then we can sneak up to him and take the pouch back. But I have a feeling it wont be that easy, so what we'll do is we'll make a fire and spread it around. So when he wakes up he will think the whole place is on fire, and I have a feeling he will forget about the pouch in his panic to get out of here. So, once he's gone we will come in and take it back. And when he comes to find it, he will have a little surprise!"
After Rorgus had finished telling Danju his plan they stopped to wait for it to get dark. Because it needed to be dark for his plan to work. Rorgus got up after a while and scouted ahead to see if he could find Saigon, he did find him. He was camped next to the water, and he had a small fire going! He was sitting at it roasting a wood pigeon. So Rorgus' job would be a lot easier. Because they didn't have to light one them self's and spread it about. Of course's they would make sure it wouldn't start a real forest fire.
Rorgus came back to where Danju was and explained the situation to him. " We will wait till he is asleep to start. In the mean time we should get some sleep too. I'll take the first watch, then you can when I wake you up. Goodnight Danju!"

"Hum..." Danju said as he tried to listen to all of Rorgus's plan."Sound pretty, good, but we'll want to contain that fire if we have to use one...Don't want to be starting a forest fire!"
Rorgus and Danju followed the fox's trail for a bit and then stopped in a little glade to wait for dark. As they waited Danju voiced his thoughts to Rorgus about the plan. "So Rorgus. I was thinking. If he grabs the pouch with him, what are we going to do?" he asked. " I was thinking..If he grabs the pouch, I could "relieve" him of the pouch while he is trying to escape the flames!"
Rorgus and Danju stayed there for a bit and Danju, not being able to sit still grabbed a few berries form a bush and started to munch on them. Rorgus eventually got up and wander off to find the exact postilion of the fox and left Danju in the glade. Danju entertained his ADHD mind by scaling all the trees in the glade. Hopping back and forth form maple to birch and back again.
Eventually Rorgus came back and Danju dropped down from a large birch and tried again to listen to all that Rorgus was telling him about the fox's position...
" We will wait till he is asleep to start. In the mean time we should get some sleep too. I'll take the first watch, then you can when I wake you up. Goodnight Danju!"
"Ok!" Danju said eagerly. Danju then proceeded to climb into a Maple tree on to one of the lower exposed branches. Danju snuggled himself on the branch with his gray cloak. Oh, if only he was back in his mother's arms again....Danju looked up at the stars that were beginning to peek out as the sun set. He secretly wondered if his mother and father were watching these same stars wondering where he was....Danju stretched out on the branch and said down to Rorgus, " Night matey!" Then he slowly drifted off in to slumber, remembering the comforting grip of his father; the sweet smell of his mother.........

Rorgus watched as Danju climbed up a tree and went to sleep. Rorgus was never a very at climbing trees. He sat by the fire for a while then went off into the trees to see if Saigon was asleep. He wasn't apparently he was trying to stay awake but wasn't doing a very good job of it. Rorgus waited a couple of hours and then went to wake up Danju. He got to the tree and started climbing as best he could. It took him quit a while to do this. Finally he got up to the branch that Danju was on. Then when he tried to crawl out onto it it started lowering when Rorgus got out to Danju and shook him the branch gave way. They landed in a heap next to the fire. Danju was on top of Rorgus, he groaned "its your turn to take watch Danju."

(Mind if I join? If you don't want me here, just ask me to leave. )
It's your turn to take watch Danju.
The eyebrows above the Fox's gray orbs rose incredulously as the duo tumbled unceremonously out of the tree. The very one he was in himself. Finally, some woodlanders had come up with the idea to keep watch. Very smart. Still, looking down on the otter who had been sleeping, he could swear he'd seen him somewhere. No matter, the canid decided. It would be but a simple matter to take both out.
Of course, he didn't have any real quarrel with them. The only thing he did know was that one of his employers - Saigon - had been tracking them, and he'd seen the other fox asleep at a fire a bit back. Looking around, he remembered he'd seen the otter who was finishing its watch before. Yes, at that very campfire.
He shrugged, balancing precariously on the branch. If the woodlanders were adverse to the idea of having another fox accompany them, he'd shoot them both dead here and now. Allowing a small smile to crawl across his face, he took out his bow and a single arrow. Notching the pointed projectile to the string of the bow, he pulled back far enough that he could complete the draw and fire in merely the space of a second.
"I believe you have been tracking a Fox by the name of Saigon." he said quietly, but loud enough that the two otters would hear him. "I'm here to offer my help. Quite a simple choice. My help - or your death." He twitched his paws to bring attention to the dangerous bow held tightly in them. "I can pull this back and fire at you in merely a second. So...you decide."
He scanned the two otters with a practiced eye. If they had any smarts, they'd know better than to refuse his offer. After all...he was starting to hate otters.

(( Ooc: I, personally don't have a problem as long as you don't go arrow crazy like you were in the "Net" thread , but you'll have to ask Rorgus. It's is his thread after all.)) Danju was having a comforting dream. ____________________________________________________ Once again he was at Green Isle.....
Him and his father were playing on a log in the middle of a calm little lake.......
He giggled and laughed along with hie father as they tried to balance on the log...........
His mother swam near by and splashed his father, making his father fall off the log........
Danju sat laughing on the log as his father resurfaced, spurting water from his mouth.........
All was well and happy again......
But then Danju felt the log tip backwards.....This never happened before!!! Danju felt himself falling off the log away from his parents...down down down, never hitting the water, but falling... ____________________________________________________ *SNAP* Danju awoke with a start as he felt the branch bellow him give way and fall to the ground. "Umph!" Danju exclaimed as he hit the ground. Groggily he sat up; his eyes spinning from the sudden drop. It wasn't until Rorgus spoke that he realized he was sitting on top of his fellow otter.... "Its your turn to take watch Danju."Danju rolled off Rorgus, offering him a paw to help him up. "Ok, mate..What a way to wake some beast up! You could have just shouted at me you know.." Danju tried to rub the sleepy-sand (as his mother used to call it) Out of his eyes when he heard a voice from the tree he was just been sleeping in.... "I believe you have been tracking a Fox by the name of Saigon. I'm here to offer my help. Quite a simple choice. My help - or your death. I can pull this back and fire at you in merely a second. So...you decide."Looking up into the tree, Danju saw a fox with a bow...The dust colored fox..that bow..that bow....The speaker's voice raised something up inside Danju. Uncontrollable hate. he remembered that the fox as a traitor and a killer! If he really killed anybeast, Danju couldn't quite remember..but the traitor feeling was enough... While the fox talked, Danju took out his dirk, gripped it between his teeth and sprinted toward the tree. Latching on to the tree with all four paws, Danju raced up the tree with stunning speed for an otter in a tree, until he was on the branch right next to the fox. Taking the dirk out of mouth, Danju stood firm on the branch, too close for the fox to use his bow, even if he tried. "We don't need your help TRAITOR!!!" Danju roared as he swiped his dirk at the fox's bow, trying to cut the bowstring before he fired at Rorgus and hopefully catching the fox off guard enough to make him possibly even fall out of the tree. But Danju never was really that lucky with these sort of things........

OOC: Ok sure Dyrisk just as long as you dont do anything unheard of. BIC: You could have just shouted at me you know..""Well the reason I didn't is because Saigon would have heard me. So I tried to climb up there and wake you up." "I believe you have been tracking a Fox by the name of Saigon. I'm here to offer my help. Quite a simple choice. My help - or your death. I can pull this back and fire at you in merely a second. So...you decide." Rorgus looked up at the tree he just fell from. He recognized that voice ((Do you mind if your fox is the one that killed Rorgus' father and take the emerald Dyrisk?)) he tried to remember where he had heard it. Then like a thunder bolt the scene came back to him. He saw his father, and the fox, he saw the fox standing over his father with a dagger. He had run forward and tried to stop the fox from killing his father but only got slashed across his chest. Then the dagger fell....... Rorgus came out of it with a jolt. He saw Danju streak up the tree. "No Danju he will kill you!" Rorgus did a backwards somersault to get out of the way. He tripped as he landed and fell to the ground thinking he would be killed as the fox shot his arrow of death. Painful memories kept coming back to him as he watched the fox and Danju.

(...I am not arrow crazy. It is entirely possible to fire five arrows in a minute. Have you ever tried? Even I, inexperienced with a bow as I am, have fired as much as ten arrows in a minute. So I'm going for realism here...
...And sure, Rorgus. As 'arrow happy' as I am... -glares at Prankster- I'd be glad to.)
Ignorant of the small talk being traded betwixt the duo of otters - at first, at least - the canid watched, rather amused, as the otter who had been sleeping grasped its dirk betwixt its fangs and sprinted at the tree. Calmly, Anubis put the dangerous bow away and drew his saber as the otter reached his branch on the tree.
We don't need your help TRAITOR!!!
The dusty canine flicked out his saber, letting the dirk rebound on it in a shower of sparks. "You are but a fool too. I've killed plenty of your kind and I will do it again." Reaching up to another, higher branch, Anubis kicked the one he had been on with his paws as hard as he could and clambered up to the next branch. The branch Danju was now on snapped and began to fall - it would be up to the otter to save its own skin somehow.
No Danju he will kill you!
The canid turned his uncaring gray orbs to Rorgus and examined him for a moment. "Do I remember you?" he asked, touching a fingertip to the point of his saber. "Ah yes...weren't you the child of that otter I killed? You bear a striking resemblance to him." He smiled ruthlessly. "I believe the time is now to finish the job. I will have the emerald either way."
Tensing his body, the canine glared straight at Rorgus. "I believe Saigon has it now? No matter. Employers are as easily killed as they are worked for."

((Ooc: -holds paws up in surrender- Sorry, I'm sure you could! I wasn't commenting on the speed, more of the constant use of them, but if you wish I shall keep my mouth shut. -comically zips mouth with over sized zipper- ))
"Well the reason I didn't is because Saigon would have heard me. So I tried to climb up there and wake you up."
"Well, you sure did that matey!" Danju said rubbing his head..... ___________________________________________________
"You are but a fool too. I've killed plenty of your kind and I will do it again."
Danju's dirk rebounded off the fox's saber in a burst of sparks. Danju quickly flicked his dirk around his wrist and tried to slash at the fox again, but the fox, lept upward jouncing the limb. It was then that Danju realized that his branch was breaking!
Danju shoved his dirk back between his teeth and jumped for the trunk of the tree. Latching on to the trunk Danju watched as his branch snapped completely from the tree and fell to the ground. It was these types of moments that Danju really hated dead tree limbs.
"No Danju he will kill you!"

Danju rolled his eyes at Rorgus. No REALLY!!! He thought to himself. Taking the dirk out of his mouth again with his left paw, Danju looked up into the eyes of the fox above him and growled.
"Your the fool this time foxscum! You ain't killing this otter!"
And with that he straddled the tree with three limbs, skillfully scampering up the tree. Hanging directly under the limb that the fox was on, Danju lept for the limb, grasping it with his front paws he yanked on it as hard, jouncing the limb with his entire weight. The fox would have to be part-squirrel like Danju to maintain his balance, or have shier-dumb-luck to even stay on the tree.

Rorgus saw Danju climb higher, he knew he had to help him. He knew the fox was dangerous and fast, his father was the best in the land and the fox had to be better to beat him. He quickly strung his bow and notched an arrow. He was as good as the fox at archery.
" Get out of there Danju NOW!" He was going to fire as soon as Danju got out of his way. He pulled the arrow back even farther. That fox will have to be fast to escape this one. He thought to himself, he saw Danju pull on the branch from below and watched to see what the fox would do. He would have to be good to keep his balance this time. He was ready to shoot the fox at a moments notice.

(-looks to Rorgus- He says he's good with a bow. And I'm arrow happy? -continues to grumble- And Prankster - that's Anubis' only weapon besides saber. He shoots a lot of arrows, mmkay?)
Your the fool this time foxscum! You ain't killing this otter!
"Who says?" he replied quietly, sheathing his saber as he watched Danju come at him again. Expecting that the otter was going to try something, the fox glanced from side to side. There was another thick branch a little above him, but he couldn't quite reach it, even standing.
Then he saw the otter leap for the limb and felt a spark of hope as Danju's paws clamped down hard on the tree limb he was on. With astounding speed, the canid stood and dug his claws into the limb to keep balance.
As the otter began to yank on the limb, Anubis knew he was going to fall if he didn't do something soon. As the branch began its first jolt upwards, the canine jumped as high as he could and was rewarded by his claws sinking into the flesh of the tree. Years of training with the bow had made his arms hard as steel; therefore, it was easy to pull himself up. As he looked down on Danju, it struck him how very high up he was.
The canine smiled wryly. If this otter was a better fighter then he'd barganed for, Anubis would probably end up with a broken leg, arm, and ribs. Readying his long saber, he stabbed sharply down at Danju. Either the otter could stay and get stabbed in the heart, fall from the tree, or, if it was lucky, do some other move that would save its miserable life.
Get out of there Danju NOW!
Sharply, the canine turned, gray orbs examining Rorgus, who was holding a bow with a nocked arrow in his direction. If Danju got lucky, there was almost no way the fox could survive with arrows raining down at him while the squirrel-otter fought him with a blade.
His only hope was to jump out of the tree.
"Damn it." Anubis cursed, annoyed that he'd allowed himself to get into this situation somehow. Rorgus was the bigger threat. He needed to be taken down now before he got any other ideas.
"I gather they think two on one is fair only against 'vermin'." the canine hissed acidly to himself under his breath.
Tensing his muscles, Anubis leapt out into the air with a howl. He had aimed the jump perfectly and grabbed onto a lower hanging branch as he fell. The jolt from the grab was so intense for his fingers that two broke almost instantly, leaving him holding on with one paw and three fingers of the next.
He gave a sharp yelp of pain as he faced the next ten feet he had to drop. There was no way he could catch another branch with his broken fingers...and his bow was out of the question now. Not that that was the worst of his worries in this predicament.
With a deep breath, the canine let go of the branch.
He fell the last ten feet, landing on his feet with a thump. Nothing had broken that time, but the jolts from the landing ran up his legs and he fell, wincing at the pain. A great way to die - defeated by a mere tree.
Just great.
Scrambling up to his feet, the dusty-furred canid faced the two otters who no doubt wanted to lop his head off of his shoulders. And he was not running away. He drew his saber, although his arms were screaming with the pain of grabbing on to the tree branch as he fell. Clenching his paw around it, he faced his enemies.
Two really pissed, perfectly healthy otters (unless Danju had injured himself in the fall) versus an injured Fox with two of his fingers broken, injured arms, and who was hardly able to stand.
The canine's paws seemed to give out then and he dropped to his knees, looking up at the otters.
"Well, this is a right mess I've gotten myself into." he admitted wryly. Completely in the paws of an otter who's father he had killed and one who just hated him.
Fun.
(Yo, I'd appreciate it if you didn't kill Anubis...please? Keep him prisoner or something, instead? ...At least I injured him, better then I can say for your characters so far. No offense meant.)
