Name: Arawolf Rainclaw
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Species: River Otter
Occupation: Vermin Hunter/Slayer
Physical Appearance:
Arawolf Rainclaw is a slim otter, but she still manages to be quite strong, her limbs toughened from years of hunting vermin, and many have fallen to her blade. Her creamy light brown fur is the color of milk chocolate, and her eyes are a bright blue-grey with a small section of brown in the left eye. A white diamond of fur is perched betwixt her triangular ears, running down to the tip of her moist black nose, and on either side of her face are lines of red warpaint, which is actually ground berries. Her long ivory fangs are sharp as spikes, and her whiskers also have a tendency to be the sharpness of thistles.
Her paws are wrapped in gloves made of leaves and fastened together with vine, concealing the small scars dotted across the back and palm of her paws. Her footpaws are bare, only because she doesn't think you need anything covering your feet. Her arms are tattooed with red and blue swirl-like patterns.
Her chest has a patch of bright white fur on it, and she has a snakeskin belt around her waist that usually contains her flamberge, which translates to 'flame-bladed sword'. It is a large, two inch thick metal blade with wavy edges, and a short metal hilt.
Possessions
Arawolf posesses a flamberge, or a flame-bladed sword. It is a two inch thick metal blade with wavy edges and a short metal hilt.
Personality:
Arawolf Rainclaw is a two-sided personality. One side deals with the average woodlander. This side of her, she is very kind, especially to young ones, and will defend them with her life. She may get mildly annoyed when another beast's opinion is unreasonable, but other than that, her personality is of the average woodlander.
But give her vermin to deal with, and it's a whole different story. Arawolf is a trained vermin hunter and killer and will stop at nothing to end their lives. She loves to fight, and the fact that she's ridding the world of vermin is a good enough reason to her to fight. She doesn't like to torture, but just kill, unlike many of the other vermin hunters.
Strengths:
Arawolf is a great fighter, and is a master with the art of the blade; not so much with any other weapon, although she can shoot a bow. She has an excellent senses of smell, sight, and hearing from her training.
Weaknesses:
She can't really fight with anything besides a sword. Also, she thinks all vermin are her enemies, and will not spare vermin unless they have a good reason to live. She can't stand it if others are stronger than her.
History:
Arawolf Rainclaw was born in Mossflower, like many other beasts, but she had nothing like a normal childhood. Her parents were slaves to a vermin horde that had originated from the lands of Ice and Snow, so when the vermin were done raiding and fighting in Mossflower, and only a few remained, they left the shores for the lands of Ice and Snow again, taking Arawolf Rainclaw with them.
So, that's where she was raised. Her father died there when she turned ten from the cold and the working all day combined, and her mother also died shortly after. How this happened, no one knows, but this is part of why Arawolf is sworn to kill all of the vermin she finds. Anyway, at fifteen she decided she'd had enough and escaped. She couldn't really go far without a boat, as all the ones that existed were heavily protected and there was no lumber to make new ones. But Arawolf was an otter, so, after a month of searching, she decided to swim back to Mossflower.
Of course, this wasn't a very bright idea, and she'd only gone about a mile before the cold forced her to stop. She might have died out there, except for the fact a returning vermin boat came by. She managed to climb some loose rigging up onto the boat, where she found that the crew and captain combined numbered only a score. She had no weapons, so she couldn't really do a thing about it; when the boat docked back at the land of Ice and Snow, she waited out the three days it took before the boat was sent out again to Mossflower.
Arawolf had to get food and water, however. Every so often, at the break of dawn, she would sneak out from her hiding place under a pile of timbers and loose mast and pinch the cheese and fish the vermin had brought with them, as well as pawfuls of the fresh water the crew kept in large barrels next to the food.
By the time the boat landed in Mossflower, the air had warmed and the crew, unaccustomed to the heat, was cooling off in the shallow parts of the sea while the captain made sure the boat wouldn't float back into the water. While this was going on, Arawolf jumped off the boat into the water and, avoiding the vermin, made it onto shore and into the woods.
She traveled west for a ways until she came upon the badger mountain of Salamandastron, where they let her stay until she continued up into Mossflower. It was at this point that a hare, to help her on her journey, presented her with a flamberge sword as a gift. She stayed there for one month, after which time the hares of the Long Patrol were called out to fight a war. She came with them, and after they'd defeated the enemy, none other then the pirates she had sailed with to Mossflower, she decided that she would be a vermin hunter.
She headed out into Mossflower, headed nowhere in particular. Sure, she'd heard of the famous Redwall Abbey, but she didn't really think that was the life for a vermin hunter, and ever since then, she's lived in Mossflower.
