Name: Bryce Stoneclaw
Nickname(s): Blade
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Species: Rat
Occupation: Warlord
Physical Appearance:
Bryce is built somewhat like a rail; tall and thin. He stands at about six feet, more than your average rat, and most of that six feet is covered by creamy brown fur. His long tan-brown tail is ringed with black instead of being bare and light peach-pink like other rats. His muzzle is slightly more blunt than usual, tipped with a moist black nose, his mouth filled with short, sharp white teeth. His green eyes are strong and confident, and are usually have a dangerous undertone in their depths.
Long, lanky arms and legs are the rat's primary weapons; their claws are sharp and strong and stained slightly red. Even more dangerous than the claws are Bryce's saber and knife. The saber is thin and pointed like a needle, made of sparkly silver-gray metal and a corded rope handle. It isn't even slightly stained with blood because of the rat's frequent cleaning of it; just because he's a warlord doesn't mean his blade has to appear like he's just hacked through waves of foebeasts. The knife, on the other hand, is made from black iron and inlaid with a ornately carved emerald.
His furred torso is crisscrossed with scars and patterned with only a few dots of abyss black, the broken off head of an arrow is buried in the flesh of his chest as it has been for years.
Possessions:
Bryce owns a saber and a knife, coupled with an adderskin belt. Not much, but that's all he needs.
Personality:
Bryce isn't the insane type like so many other warlords. He isn't crazy or anything; he's suprisingly smart for a warlord who relies so much on his power. That doesn't mean he's a nice creature; he's one of the most ruthless beasts you could be unlucky enough to meet. Bryce might have always had a dream to take over Redwall; he's not stupid enough to try, however. That would be suicide; the fact is backed up by his strange seer, who confirms his claim.
He's pretty good with sword, dagger and bow, but mostly sword, and isn't one of the cowardly vermin leaders who kills all before him but, when it comes their time to die, begs for mercy. Bryce is too proud for that. He isn't good with talking, and prefers combat over it. He isn't given to fits of insanity either, and is quite a rational creature. When Bryce makes a decision, he sees what Magus and his ferret captains have to say about it before putting the plan in action.
Strengths:
Bryce is really good with the sword, and isn't weak like others, but will fight to the death. He's a good rock climber, but is scared of heights, so it doesn't get him far.
Weaknesses:
Bryce is pretty scared of heights and attempts to avoid them, but he'll still fight on a cliff if he needs to. He also doesn't like swimming, but if swimming will save his life he'll do it.
History:
Bryce was born into a vermin horde as the son of a very low ranking warrior. As a result, no one paid attention to him until he was about twelve, which was when he begun to train with the sword. He challenged the captain of the horde to a fight, and lost. At that moment in his life, he left the horde to become a better warrior. He traveled miles and practiced with his sword, killing for food and killing for practice; having cold blood on his hands didn't bother him at all. Eventually, he amassed a band of followers which was comprised mostly of rats, ferrets, weasels, stoats and foxes, with the occasional goodbeast turned bad.
One of the beasts he recruited was called Fang Bluefur, a weasel with blue streaks in his fur. Fang was one of the best fighters in his army until his seer Magus told him their army would be destroyed by a blue weasel. Instantly, he banished Fang in the hopes that he would be killed by others, but a day later he realized the smart thing would have been to kill Fang himself. He now hopes that Fang's forgotten him, and lives in the shadow of what Magus prophicised; that a blue weasel would destroy his army.
Relationships:
His seer/strategist/supposed mage who calls himself Magus.
His two ferret captains, Dart and Claw.
His foe, a powerful weasel warrior called Fang Bluefur.
A lot of foebeasts that he's killed.
