"Fine..." she replied moving slightly away from William as she put her paw to her side. Then, she stood up straight looking at William with a somewhat less smiling face as she looked away after a moment. "...Just a minor injury..." she said after a moment as she seemingly looked at nothing, and walked forward toward the table. Her claw lightly touched it as she looked at the beautiful craftmenship. "...They have children here..." she whisphered quietly as she walked past for a moment to look at the tapestry. She stared at it, her eyes fixed on the eyes of Martin the Warrior. "Is this the Warrior... Martin the Warrior?"

Will was surprised that she looked at him a bit darkly after she got up. What had he done. Maybe she didn't like help, perhaps to her it was a sign of weakness? Shrugging as he turned away he watched her run her paw over the table. "Indeed we do, allot actually, its just to early for them all to be out of bed yet." As they kept walking more dibbuns clambered around them. Chuckling Will set one on his shoulder as some ran around Eris, saying many things at once as they looked at this new beast in the abbey. Looking up at Eris's next question he nodded. "Aye Eris, the warrior that started this abbey, it's good that you've heard of him."

"I've 'eard of him..." replied Eris as she looked at the mythic image of Martin the Warrior. She stared for a long moment. "...In fact... I idolized him...I loved hearin' the stories that my muder' and fader' would tell 'bout him. They said he was the purest, the noblest, the most selfless mouse ta' ever try ta' fight for freedom... I loved hearin' those stories...absolutely loved it..." Eris felt terrible pain in her heart, not because of guilt, but anger and hatred. It wasn't toward anyone but herself. A mouse... a weakling creature was able to defeat a master... Yet I couldn't?! If only I were stronger... But I am stronger... I am Serapht... I am stronger then anyone of these weakings. I am not worthless and I will prove it to the mast... To them... Eris looked at William, smiling in a nice way as she bowed. "Sorry for my snappin'... before... I am very proud... I don't want help... but thank ya' for ya' kindness... Now, If I may get somethin' to eat, I shall be most happy."

Will smiled as she spoke of Martin. It was good to see that creatures outside this abbey had heard of Martin. Even better if they idolized the brave warrior. Looking over at her as she spoke again he nodded. "No need to bow her Eris, but if food is what you need we have plenty of that." Turning on his heel he walked toward a slightly larger door where wondrous smells greeted their senses. Smiling at Eris he opened the door with a slight flourish of his paw as the beautiful aromas of the kitchen washed over them both....

Eris showed no emotion as she smelt the numerous smells of the air around her. Her eyes betrayed nothing as she seemed to zone out again.
"It must be nice ta' be surrounded by such lovely thin's..." said Eris calmly as she seemed to be hidding something that was trying to claw its way out. "...At home, these place would be heaven on earth... at home, all beasts would marval at these mythic-like halls..." By the way she spoke of home, it sounded like where ever it was, was long gone. She walked forward again looking around curiously at the place before looking at the stained window glass, her eyes gleaming as the sun seemed to hit them just right. They looked heavy with some sort of burden attached.
"You're blessed...Truelly blessed... You never had ta' bow down ta' anyone who didn't deserve it..." Eris said, not even looking at William as she leaned against the wall, half looking outside. "...Must have been nice to be able to run about a courtyard, listen to elders speak of there friends, look down into the reflection of the ponds freely, ta' not need ta' fight... Must be nice."
Foolish...That's all it is... childish games. I bet none of these beasts really grow up... Never... so sheltered, so blindly tied down to dibbin-ideas... and they except it... At home... you died if you were to weak. You had to be strong, you had to not cry with they hit you or touched you. You couldn't wimper... If you did, you were going to see true pain. These abbey-beasts... No... They wouldn't handle a minute without their nice abbey, clean clothes, optimistic-personalities, playing, and sheltered life. They are weak and that's why I feel any sympathy...They don't deserve it... If they know... If they knew any of what they did to me... They would call me a freak... Why should I care? I am a freak.
Eris zoned back in as she looked at William. "This is the kitchen... What are they cookin'?"

Will listened as she spoke of her old home, to him it sounded like her home was a very bad place. Where most people would suffer daily. But that was one of the reasons of this abbey, so people didn't have to suffer under tyrants or warlords. Looking up slightly as Eris spoke of how lucky they were he shrugged. "We weren't always like this, before this abbey was founded we had to do all those old things to the vermin tyrants that ruled over us....And I've had to do all those things, I used to be a slave in a mine. For days without food, the only water was that that you found. Watching your friends die right next to you, and watching the vermin just crack their whips and say to keep working..." His eyes seemed to take on a harder look as he stared off into space. He kept starring for awhile until Eris spoke again. "Hum? Oh, they are cooking pretty much everything that will be needed for the meals, and some things just to make sure that our larders are full."

"Watch...Friends die...." she muttered quietly, thinking to herself. She looked down for a moment before before looking at William. "Well... seems you have recovered from it... Mr. Warrior." she said in a tease, trying to no think about the Abbey-beasts as anything close to what she was. She was stronger then the, yeah, that's right, she was stronger then any of them. She had to be. Weakness was death. Only the strongest of the children could live, only the ones who were chosen to live...lived. I was strong... I had to be... no no....Why am I think about those children? I'm Serapht.... not Reaver... Eris rubbed her head as if feeling a headache. She looked at William for a moment. "I would just like an apple... some water...That's all." The sound in her stomach showed that she was probably hungry for something more then just an apple and water.

Because of the old memories welling up inside his brain Will didn't hear Eris's quiet muttering about friends. Finally bringing himself back to the present he smiles slightly. "For the most part yeh I did, but as you can see it's still a hard thing to think about." Looking at her Will could see that she was thinking about something, and whatever it is it seemed to be something that pained her to. Shrugging as he placed the food and drink on a tray, if she wanted to talk to him about it then all she need is to talk. Handing her the tray with a small smile he nodded. "If you need some more food later just come down and the cooks can make you something."

Eris stared at the sickenly clean and fresh food. It was revolting to her. She stared at the food for a long moment, her gaze and face showing no emotion at all. She took a single bit out of the food. The tough looking exterior seemed to soften slightly as she closed her eyes preforming perfect control over her emotions. "Please... Lead me to the infirmary..." said Eris in a manner that showed she was holding her emotions back. To do so required much trainning, or something that made her incapible of showing them.

Will raised his eyebrows as Eris just stared at the food. But he didn't speak. But he couldn't see why she was, it was just food, nothing special about it. Maybe she hadn't had food in awhile. From what she had said it sounds like she had had a pretty hard life. Pushing it from his mind he nodded as he walked out of the kitchen. "Alright Eris, then you can have a good sleep, looks like you could use one. He said with a slight smile as he mounted the stairs toward the infirmary.

Eris stood and followed William, saying nothing as she though quietly for a moment. Her thoughts were not on where she was or anything, but where she had been. "At home... Well... home was alot like here." said Eris as she walked with William to the infirmary. She looked up after a moment as she looked at the sunlight that came threw the stained glass as the day started to not be so early. "It was big, with gray stones, instead... Walls... I remember it still as if it were yesterday...but I was six when they came..." Eris looked back down as she flashed back slightly, imagining the entire area was home, except where it was dark, and peices of walling were missing, with flames and screaming loud and clear in her memories. "...Our leaders gave up, not even wanting to fight... my parents didn't want to..." Eris shook her head after a moment, trying to get those memories out of her head. "...Why am I talking about that? My parents were traitors..." She closed her eyes after a moment before regaining some control. "...Doesn't matter anyways..."

William kept walking as Eris talked about her home. But he slowed down a little when she spat out the word they. His smile disappeared as she talked about what happened to their home. But he stopped dead when she said that her parents were traitors. Spinning around Eris could tell that rage was behind his green eyes. "You speak of these invaders as if they are the worst thing in the world. Yet you then say your parents are traitors for opposing them?! Your parents are the most important thing in the world, they are the reason you are here today." He stopped awhile as he took a few deeps breaths, then added again in a low whisper as he kept walking. "Seems like these invaders made you think otherwise about your parents, shame that your life can be turned around like that."

"No... they're not..." she replied looking away from William as she looked outside. Her eyes were heavy with pain, and maybe even confusion. She didn't look at William.
"The invaders were monsters... but they were willing to no harm our people... I hate both sides... When my family resisted, the invaders decided that we were vermin worth only of extermination... They marched and burned my homeland. I survived because I was only a child... I was taken from my resting spot and dragged out with 10 others... and we watched as they burned the already burnt rubble to powder." Eris showed no emotion of being sad, just a small annoyance in her voice.
Never show emotion, never fear... they see it for a moment, and you will be cast away. The mercenary frowned after a moment as she turned and walked forward past, William.
"You don't know what they did to me... What they did to me for half my life... Who gave you the right to judge me!" she hissed angerly keeping her arms crossed around her as she walked past, not looking back at William. She had been a prisoner in her own mind for more then half her life, trying to escape the reality that she had seen, and suffered threw. She hated it all. All the 'good' beasts, all the 'bad' beasts. She now, with a vengance, hated William.
Shame how your life could be turned around like that? WHAT!? Is he insulting me!? He doesn't know anything that happened, he never felt the pain I did, wipes and starvation...HAHA! Child's play... SHAME on him for judging me... Soon, that little tinket of yours will be mine.

William didn't say anything more as Eris spoke. She says these things, yet they obviously haunt her, why doesn't she move on. Tsch, you speak of whips and starvation and beatings like you are the only one in the land that has suffered it...Litte do you know how long you are, the years I had to suffer those things. But at least I'm not a crazed lunatic not willing to let the past be past...Stopping at a open door he only nodded to her before disappearing off down the corridor to his own room, he knew that he wouldn't get to sleep easy tonight. (Yay, out characters hate each other )

((Yep... YEAH DRAMA!!!)) Eris said nothing to William, and merely eyed his sword. Maybe she could take it now. Take it and plung it into the foolish heart of the Warrior. She reached for a moment, but pulled back when he turned. She didn't gesture or anything and merely walked along the path to the Infirmary. Little dibbuns ran about playing happily with each other. Eris stared for a moment standing put straight as she walked a few steps. A loud ringing came to her head as she swallowed hard as she put her hands to her head.
Come on... What are you scared of? HEHE... Are you crying? Don't worry... It will be over, little squirrel... A cold touch came at her shoulders. Slowly it seemed to grow around her as she felt someone behind her that wasn't there. A jeering laugh came, harsh and cruel as what looked to be a fox came behind her. Scared? You have a job to do, Slave. The paws came around Eris, making her shut her eyes as she seemingly prayed to herself. LEAVE HER ALONE!
Eris gasped for air as she dropped to her knees. Her paw was over her mouth as she gasped for air unable to seemingly get any air. It sounded like she was going to cry, but didn't. The Dibbuns stared for a moment before running off, scared of the newcomer, and her strange ways. She clawed the dirt, grabbing and fulls of it, then pounding her fists on the ground. Though, despritely she wanted to cry, she couldn't. Only anger and rage came out as she screamed angerly beating her fists into the ground.

(YAY? ) Looking back as Will heard the dibbuns squeal he saw Eris fall to the floor. He was surprised at himself for what he did next. Nothing. Turning around again he walked down the hallway, leaving Eris with her problems. Opening the door to his room he sighed as he set his sword on the small table next to his bed and layed down. But as he thought earlier he just couldn't get to sleep, his mind still full of the squirrel. So he just lay on the bed, his head away from the door as he tried to sleep....

((William is trying to sleep when it is early in the morning.)) "Curse you, abbey-beast... Curse you all to Hellgates... may you burn for all eternity for you arrogents and you bind ideas... Curse you...CURSE YOU!" She screamed as she held her throat as it seemed to feel like a pain was there as she seemingly gasped for air. He paws clinched the dirt as she put her face to the ground. Suddenly she calmed as she stopped moving and seemingly convalsing on the ground. Why do I care? I don't really... They are nothing like me... They have done nothing to even be called close to me... They scorn me for things they don't understand. I don't care... let them judge me... Her clawed gloves released the ground as she looked at them. She was a mercenary, her job was to steal the Sword of Martin. Slowly she put her claw near her throat, right at the vital artery and pushed on it slightly. The squirrels eyes opened slightly as as stared at the sky. So...you are giving up now? You are going to give up and die... Is that your plan? How 'bout you spit on my grave... Huh? Do it... I dare you... You won't... cause I know you. The black squirrels claw moved away from the vital spot as she stood up. She turned walking slowly toward the Infirmary, past a few Dibbuns that moved away from her in terror. She didn't like that they were afraid of her... but then again, she never let it show. That sword will be mine... and then I will get what I want...I garentee that.

(Opps...I thought it was night >.<)
Finally giving up trying to take a nap he picked up his sword again and walked out of his room. Walking down the hall his mind was still full of this squirrel. Who was she really, why did she come here, what did she hope to gain by telling him all these things. Passing the infirmary he noticed that she was finally getting help. About bloody time, instead of just moping and complaining. Walking down to the tapestry of Martin He stood there, letting all his thoughts slow down so he could ponder over each one in turn. His eyes never leaving the fabled mouse...

"I'm sorry..." a quiet voice said behind William. It was Eris with a bandage over her injury. Even though the Infirmary Maid had tried to keep Eris to stay do to her broken rib. However, Eris refused, easily able to get up and leave even with the protest of the Maid. She was acting like a dibbun, at least according to some of the maids. The squirrel looked at the tapestry and at they eyes of Martin the Warrior. For a moment, it seemed haunting, as if the warrior would come out and send her away. The black pelted Squirrel couldn't remove her gaze. "...If I offended you... I appologize..."

Looking to the side as he heard a voice he nodded slightly as he looked back at Martin. He just kept looking deep into Martins eyes as Eris spoke. Her words sounded believable enough, and she did sound sorry. But that still didn't excuse they way she had been acting. But this was Redwall, where every beast got a chance. Looking back at Eris he smiled. "Its alright, no harm done, forgive and forget right?" He said as he held out his paw. Even though I still don't trust you, I'll have my eye on you...
