Gender: Female
Age: 17
Species: River Otter
Occupation: Redwaller
Physical Appearance:
Loralye is a black river otter, with golden amber eyes. The fur on her belly, and underneath her chin, is a shade of grey. The fur on her head is always very scruffy and almost covers her eyes (but she clips it out of the way while working). She has quite broad shoulders and tail, but is still quite lean with only a little fat on her.
She usually wears a traditional Redwall Abbey green tunic, with flowers and leaves tucked into her belt all year round, but she usually goes shoeless, prefering the feel off the ground beneath her feet.
Possessions:
She is never seen without her necklace, a shining blue gemstone hanging from a silver chain. It was passed down to her through the generations, and is always given to the first born of each previous owner.
Personality:
Loralye is generally a happy, sweet natured girl, but is very day-dreamy and ditzy. As a result of this, she is pretty clumsy, and is not usually trusted with any task that is considered important in the Abbey. She is quite silly and playful, and enjoys to play with the dibbuns. Looking after them is one of the only things she is trusted with, as she seems to keep her wits about her when doing so. (She does also enjoy working in the kitchen, although what she makes while 70% of the time turn out a disaster).
Despite her usually clumsy nature with literally everything, she has always seemed to have a nack for dancing. From a young age she enjoyed to just dance around randomly, picturing herself as some beautiful princess, or dainty fairy. Somehow she wouldn't crash into everything in sight, even with her arms and legs going around her in all directions. It's been jokingly suggested to her that she should dance everything she does, that way she would break less things.
Strengths:
- She is pretty good at dancing (But useless at other forms of entertainment)
- She is approachable and easy to talk to
-Very strong swimmer (Well, she is an otter )
Weaknesses:
- Very very clumsy
- She cannot use weapons to save her life
- She is very naive
History:
Loralye was born and raised in Redwall Abbey, despite the fact that her parents were not. They had lived happily together in Mossflower as nomads, up until they found that they were to have a baby. They decided that they didn't feel it was safe enough in the forests to raise a child, and so planned to find somewhere to settle down. They had heard tales of the Abbey, and so they traveled there to see if it was as they had been told. They instantly agreed that the loving, caring attitude of all who dwelled within, and the strangth and protection that the building provided, created a perfect atmosphere for raising a child, and so requested to stay at the Abbey.
As a young dibbun she often got into alot of trouble, though most of the time she hadn't intended to do anything wrong. But her clumsy, day-dreamy nature often meant she would break things or end up where she shouldn't be. Luckily, as she got older, she learnt to pay a little more attention to where she was going, and was more careful around fragile items, but that didn't prevent the occasional accident.
Her father often tried to teach her how to use weapons, so that if the need ever came, she would be able to defend herself. Despite his best efforts, though, she prooved to be completely hopeless at every fighting technique that he tried to teach her. It didn't stop him trying, though, right up until the day he left.
When Loralye was 16, her parents, who missed the nomadic lifestyle that they had previously enjoyed, decided that they would return to the forest to live. They knew, though, how settled Loralye was in the Abbey, so instead of forcing her to come, they gave her the option to stay behind at the Abbey. Initially, she chose to go with them, but after a season or so, she longed to return to the Abbey. She parted ways with her parents, and her father gave her the pendant that his father had given him. She returned to the Abbey, and settled back into her old life, knowing that her parents had promised to come and visit when they could.
Relationships:
- Her parents
- Oliden Has been her childhood friend since, like, forever.
