((I'm sure that Ashstripe will give you a more complete answer momentarily, but the short version is that it's too late to join round one because the killer has already been assigned, so we'd know that you were lawful. However there will probably be several rounds, and you're free to join then. Since there are only five suspects, we only need to kill a maximum of 3 people, preferably fewer, so the game will be over soon. I look forward to playing with you ^_^))

((Yves is correct. The way the game currently is, you would undoubtedly be a lawful citizen.
Course you could always wait until the next round, I'm going to refine the game a bit to increase the pace and such. You could say this is the Beta. And with 7 I think I could slot in another witch or role =). Since the amount of players is a bit lower than anticipated.
Odds are I'll be inactive over the next three odd days anyways, carry on as normal. The Monk has nothing to contribute so far.
After the first night phase I'm going to have to speed things up a bit in the interests of other members, i.e kick off those who are AWL. And if they happen to be a witch, I'll kill for them. ))

(Well, it looks like 'Retchen's days are numbered...*ulp* time to write mah final soliloquay...if I spelt that right.
Mind if I borrow some gallows?)
Just as 'Retchen was about to respond, the gallows were rolled up from behind him. Gulping nervously, a villager grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and dragged him to the gallows, before him and his squirrel flunky put a noose around his neck. "It...it looks like you have...chosen...me." said 'Retchen lamely. "KILL 'IM!" yelled some villager. "Tough crowd," mumbled 'Retchen. "Well...I have one last thing to say. Well, a few. Several." He coughed slightly. "The first: What did Lord Ashellious mean by myself being not trustworthy? This does not necessarily mean I am a witch, I could just have been doing something under the table, or something. We must not jump to conclusions when dealing with the enemy! The second: What have I done to the community? Nothing negative, surely. I have been productive, very much so. I may not own land, and yet I have helped each of you. Why, you there, in the back! But three days ago, I saw you haggling with a merchant, as you could not easily afford his prices for his chalky, but vital, bread. I bought the bread, and gave it to you. What did I have to gain? Nothing, but the satisfaction of another good deed amongst many. And the third...well: If none of you change your vote quickly, the murders will continue. More innocents will die. I am not the one you seek." He gulped, and nodded faintly at the executioners, and the squirrel put his paw on the lever that, unless something drastic happened, would send the ferret to his death.

((You power-played mah GALLOWS! =P))
The crowd broke into a cheer, justice had been done and Lord Ashellius's warning had been heeded. No more had they to fear from the threat of witches poisoning their water supply or shrivelling their cattle. No more did they huddle in the shadows of their homes at night praying for the night of dawn.
And that was how they saluted the fall of one of the supposedly most outstanding citizens within the community, the one that many had held so dear collapsed without so much as a single tear, even as the executioner and the robed grave-diggers dragged 'Retchen's corpse away, indeed they spat and jeered and cheered as the demise of their member had come to pass.
The Monk smiled contentedly and quickly took control of the drunk celebration, perched upon the gallows he raised his arms wide and addressed his people as their new de facto leader;
"Rejoice! For the witch has been hung! But yet, be wary mine people, for Lord Ashellius is still at large," The crowd immediately died down, the Monk was correct, their Lord Mayor was still missing and they weren't 100% certain about 'Retchen being a witch.
"Anow, let us rejuvenate us in what hath been taken from us, for 'Retchen has likely shadowed some charm, ritual or symbol within his household among many other, let us break the curse!" The Monk cheered loudly, his cries being echoed loudly the urge to celebrate was suppressed for the time being.
And so, 'Retchen's household was broken, smashed and defiled as the looters anxiously 'searched' for any evidence of his tainted evil...
They found nothing. 'Retchen had lied about his ownership of land, there was evidence that he had owned some at some stage, a rather large area near the river, rich with timber and game - yet the deed to this property was no where to be found.
'Tis not of import, mused the Monk, had his killing been out of greed? Or had the witch manipulated everyone to the shadow?
The town was silent, they had most definitely killed an innocent member of their township - and for what purpose? The Witch was still at large and would likely seek revenge tonight...
"Let us pray for poor 'Retchen...But the day grows late and I fear that one of us shall not see the sun rise...Should anyone see anyone ambling in the shadows, do not fear to alert the guard."
And pray that the morning comes.
The Night-Phase begins - turns out 'Retchen wasn't a witch after all. Deary me, he was a pretty wealthy land owner though.
Three remain, all of them killers - one of them cold blooded.
Citizen Griffin is now non-existent, I apologise but you simply are not active enough to participate - it isn't fair on the other members.
I already have the witch's target and am proceeding to kill them about nowish. In the next post. Yes, this means the Witch has won.

Loud screams echoed throughout the night, yet not a soul stirred, out of fear for the possibility of being murdered as well. The Village is a cowardly lot when there is no noose behind them, as Citizen Yves soon found out.
The next morning was a sombre one, Citizen Rocky awoke to find the closest thing he had left to a true ally had fallen, the Monk simply shook his head. He had failed, failed Lord Ashellius and the township. They all had. As they gazed upon Yves' mutilated body, the deed to Citizen 'Retchen's land clasped tightly in the cold dead fingers, murdered out of cold blood, perhaps for the accusation against 'Retchen. But the Monk knew better - no one left such deep burns and cuts without the use of black magic, it simply could not be done.
The Village turned to face Citizen Dirgecallers, whom only grinned sadistically, the blue sparks of the arcane dancing around his finger tips, his eyes were no longer a gentle brown hue - they radiated confidence, power...And blood lust.
The township turned against the witch, all bearing their pitch forks and axes. But a lone witch, with their back against the wall, is something more akin to a force of nature - as the villagers soon found out.
Let us forever remember those who failed.
Well played Dirge and Yves! Dirge has won the game and Yves accomplished one of his goals =). Everyone else was an innocent citizen.
Anyone who wants to join in the next round, say so. I'll put it in another thread.
Sorry if the posts seem a bit abrupt, but I've got to get my sorry butt to work in about 30 minutes.
This thread will be locked and archived next time I come on, so probably this Sunday-ish, feel free to discuss what went well, what didn't and how well played the game was.

You know, in retrospect, it was actually impossible for me to win. Being the Greedy Farmer, if we killed the witch on day 1, I would never have had an opportunity to take down 'Retchen... but, even if we did kill 'Retchen, and Dirge did not kill me, there would not be enough citizens for the game to continue...
Outrage!! D=<
Nah, I'm kidding, it was fun, and if Griffin had remained I would have had a chance. Thanks for playing all, and congratz Dirge ^^ You had me fooled--I was something like 100% sure Skipper was the killer o.o

Same here on Skipper's guilt, or, lack or such. I could've accused Yves just before my death, but, that would've just protracted a losing case and caused a deadlock, so...I pretty much just took the opportunity to write my own probable-death scene
