Felis is my all-time favorite wildcat. He was awesome.
My favorite "good-guys" would be Martin, Lord Brocktree, and Lord Urthstripe. And my favorite villains would be Cluny the Scourge and Ferahgo the Assassin. I like tons of characters, though.

Ah, Beau..... *stares dreamily off into the distance*. Ahem. Where was I? Oh, yeah. Heh. I love Martin, Song, Martha, all the hares. Also, Girry from High Rhulain. He was pretty cool.

Russa Nodrey. By far my favorite. If I had to pick a second, Dorothea Duckfontein Dillworthy.

My favorite character is secretly Tsarmina... sssshh. Don't tell anyone. I don't even know why. She just... is.
Favorite hare is defiantly Hon Rosie. Dotti comes as a close, close second. Favorite badger lord is Lord Brocktree. Call me terrible, but I love Martin to death, especially in Mossflower. I like his recorded voice on the books on tape, too xD

Blaggut is probably my favorite "villain" character, because he wasn't villainous. It made a nice change, and his hobby was awesome. Boat making is seriously a cool skill.
Rakkety Tam is also one of my favorite characters. His weapon choice was excellent, and he was Scottish; though he didn't have an accent. Scottish peeps rock, FYI.
Also I liked what's-his-name, the hare who fought with the fishing pole. He had a great personality, and his weapon was bizarre and strangely effective. Too bad I can't remember his name...

Meldrum Fallowthorn the Magnificent is you're referring to, I believe, also from the Bellmaker.

Now that I've noticed this thread I must post! I don't believe anyone has posted anything about Slagar! He's probably one of the stand out villains to me in the series because he was actually developed in TWO books! From what I've read of the series so far this is unique.
In his first appearance as Chickenhound in Redwall, he is a selfish, but otherwise not an evil fox. However, his greedy nature gets the best of him, which sends him on his downward spiral into his obsession with revenge and power.
With Mattimeo, Chickenhound has grown into Slagar, a cunning and despicable beast, who manages to sneak into Redwall and capture the dibbuns of the abbey. Already Slagar has managed what most other Redwall villains fail to do, which is enter and escape the abbey. Most other villains are held off long enough to the point that if they make it inside, they are not leaving. Slagar not only managed to escape without a single loss to his band, (minus the one he killed in St. Ninian's XD) but he also captured the young beasts of Redwall.
Overall Slagar was a great and unforgettable villain who really is a standout for me. Not to mention that in the animated series he is voiced by Tim Curry, which fits very very well.
As for my favorite hero of Redwall, the Mask from Mossflower was an excellent one I thought.

My favorite goodbeast of all time is Ranguvar Foeseeker. She's my Redwallian idol, so to speak. My favorite evilbeast is...Cluny the Scourge. He actually conquered Redwall, and would have won, if not for those dastardly shrews and sparrows. Grr... My favorite neutral beast is Argulor. "Hmm...pine marten...I wonder if it tastes like pine...hmm..."

My favorites hands-down were Sunflash, Mariel, and Rakkety Tam. They were just amazing, and my favorite books as well.

Oh I do like Mariel and Sunflash. Though as for Mariel Of Redwall and The Bellmaker, Rosie was my favorite!
Though did you notice that on the hardcover cover art for The Bellmaker, Joseph, Foremole, and Finnbarr were all standing upright and fully clothed, while Rosie was crouched on all fours and wearing only a scarf? That always kind of disturbed me. XD

Minnions. As you stated in the first post the vast majority of character follow a sort of formula and the villains never really stood out to me, nor even the heroes. No, I liked the minions.
They were mostly morally grey with more personalities than most main characters. They were always my favorite characters...and usually died, at random, and with out reason, either brutally murdered by the enviorment, their masters, or even more brutally by the goody two shoe heroes XD

My favorite Character would probably have to be the Taggurung, mostly for his unusual history, closly followed by Romsca, a Vermin with probably the best face-heel-turn in the series, though it was quite unfortunate that Jacques discarded her so quickly.

Yes, I love Taggerung/Deyna as well. I just finished re-reading Taggerung, and it was as good as I remember. One other favorite is Craklyn squirrel, probably the best of the Redwall recorders to my memory.

I also like Skarlath. That kestrel really was a good friend to Sunflash.
