Well, there's a thread in the Redwall Discussion Forum on everyone's favorite Redwall book. I figure it would be interesting to discuss this xP
I'm going through a Scott Fitzgerald phase at the moment, as pretentious as that sounds xD I don't usually enjoy poetry, but I can enjoy reading his. My favorite book of all time is probably Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo.

Glad someone thought to do this, Kudos!
Aah, Les Miserables. Amazing book. I'd quote from it if I hadn't read it five years ago and lost it while moving to my current place of residence.
Because my daily activities, school, and everything else going on constantly has left no time for recreational reading, I'll settle with saying one of my favorite authors is Terry Goodkind and my current favorite book is Grendel, by John Gardner.

I can never decide on my second favorite book. I think it's the Peter and the Starcatchers series, but I can never make up my mind... DX
Ando nthe genre of mystery, Agatha Christie rules forever an always in the obsessive mystery section of my mind. XD

Blast. I haven't read a decent book in years upon years. Nowadays if I can't finish it in less than a week, it's too much of my time.
The last, impressionable book, that was longer than 300 pages that I read was 'The Stone and the Flute', by Hans Benmmann, around...Five-six years ago. It was roughly 800 pages if I remember right, a very interesting read to say the least, lots of philosophy and follows the entire lifetime of a rather unlucky young man who was irrational in his youth and ignorant in age. But he learns eventually.
The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer are a particularly interesting and fun read too. Original is an understatement.
That's about 10 novels in 6 years. I'm on a roll.

Pratchett, without a doubt. Although David Eddings is pretty good, I....kinda read...everything. Favourite book? 'Thud!' Yes, that's the title of the book. By Pratchett. Heavily focuses on probably my favourite character in literature, Commander Vimes.
...
Just say it! Vimes! *answering mumble of ''Vimes...''...'Retchen continues to stir up crowd.*

A Storm of Swords, the third book in A Song of Ice and Fire, was a spectacular read. Written by George R. R. Martin, one of the modern kings of fantasy.

For me it would have to be the Harry Potter series. True, they weren't written expertly and they aren't the worlds best literature, but they provide fun entertainment for all ages. After that I'd have to go with the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. Definitely. Nicely written, good story, and a really great last line. Loved it the whole way, although my apparent semi-obsession with foreign cultures might have influenced that...

I love a good military adventure book. Tom Clancy and Ken Follet are a few of my favorite authors. I would say right now though, that my favorite book is House by Ted Dekker and Frank Perretti. It's a thriller book, but wonderful despite its genre.

Trailing [kinda far] behind the Redwall tales, most definitely, the Twilight series. I, like most other girls of America or anyplace else, <3 the Twilight books. I'm not a crazy, obsessed fan, but definitely a luver. ^^
Warrior Cats series. First series I've ever finished (well, if you didn't count the ones coming in now), and it marked a part in meh history. x3 I felt so accomplished. =P
Gallagher Girls books. ~<333 Luved 'em as well. I have a fondness for these aweshum spy books. -gigglesnort-
The Clique. A favorite among girls, and I'm one of 'em. =]
Uglies trilogy. <3ed 'em! I can't really say which book I really liked. They were all good. ^^
xoxo, Northie

But other than sir Jacques work... I have read all and enjoyed the Halo books, though various authors have written them. the Cirque Du Freak series was also pretty good. I also enjoy Tom Clancy and J.R.R Tolkien

"The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer are a particularly interesting and fun read too. Original is an understatement."
They are probably my all-time favorite book seris... The other books by Eoin Colfer rule too, but these are exceptional. Eoin Colfer's The Wish List and Airman were pretty good I thought.
*Sigh* Eli.... you also speak words of wisdom. No matter what I say, my mind keeps going back to that entrancing three book trilogy that I have read a total of three times so far. I have always claimed it to be my favorite book from when I was 8 years old to now (being 13). I guess I should just tell people the truth. I'm a Tolkien fan. It would be silly if I said Lord of The Rings wasn't my favorite book of all time. XD okay!

The Artemis Fowl books. Awesomes. Currently reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Good books, long though. Book I finished yesterday was 1443 pages. *Not for the younger readers* I wanna speak like a Scot for weeks after spending time with Claire and Jamie Frasier. WoT series. The ONLY series I’ve ever read that I’ve not started somewhere in the middle. Mainly because it has FOURTEEN books, two not even out yet! Also long, and complicated. But good.
Um. Haven’t read much else this year (read, this school year), but Moby D i c k was good, and I like some of D i c kens’s work. And JRR Tolkien = love. The first serious books I read. I love 'em.
Oh, and the Ugly trilogy is a quartet now. Extras came out a while ago.

^^ It's hard to pick a favorite these days, but the Harry Potter Series definitely reigns king on my "Top Ten" List for quite a while. It just really took my imagination to new heights, those books.
Some other favorites of mine are the Artemis Fowl Series, The Warriors Series, The Inheritance Cycle, The Monstrumologist (Not for those with weak stomaches), the DaVinchi Code (And most of Dan Brown's other books), Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Book of Five Rings, Terry Pratchett's Discworld Novels, and I think that's just about it.
=) I was quite the book devourer in Middle School, and though I've definitely slowed down a bit, I'm still an avid reader. ^^ Working on an interesting book right now called "Blood Oath", about, and I quote, "The President's Vampire".[/font]
