"Well...I really don't know mister Fernleaf. From what my grandpa said, he usually appears in a beasts dream when they have a important role to play in a certain event. He said any event that involved Redwall always had Martin appearing in a specific beasts dreams to do....something I guess." He said, twiddling his paws nervously. He should've paid more attention to his grandfathers stories, rather then sleep through him without the old hedgehog noticing. But how could he possibly know it would be relevant now of all times?

"I guess that means I may have to visit the Abbey. They know more of these things than I do." said Fernleaf. "I always get nervous when I get close to the place, wondering if they would receive one like me. I've only visited there once or twice." There was a sound outside, a plop, then the sound of giggling and feet running off. "It appears my mysterious benefactors have paid me a visit." he said. He got up and stepped out.
He came back in bearing a large basket. "They seem to know I have visitors." he said. "Here's the usual fresh bread and elderberry wine that is my meal. But here," pulling something else out. "Looks and smells like beetroot and tater deeper'n'ever pie, some kind of pasties, and raspberry tarts, with some October ale. Enough for the both of you. Hungry?" He brought out some utensils and cups from the basket.

The fox's nose twitches at the scent of food. One eye shoots open and scans the area. At the sight of food the fox rises fro his slumber with a stretch and a wide toothed yawn. IT wasn't much of a rest but welcomed none the same.
Baro casts a groggy glance about the room and finally realization dawns on him that there are pastries to be eaten. His face lights up into a big smile. Sitting on his haunches on the bed his tail begins to wag happily. "You kiddin? I havn't eaten since last night! I'm practically starved!" The fox yelps happily. Then he catches the hedgehog out of the corner of his eye and passes him a deep seated scowl.
"I see 'he' is up and about." He says while gesturing his thumb to beast that impaled him with dozens of quills.

"Yes, and please excuse him." said Fernleaf. "He was delerious and was running from me." He grinned. "After all, put yourself in his paws. Being sick, then looking up at a ferret bending over you. You'd scream and run as well. But come on, dig in. It smells good, and there's more than enough for both of you."
He took the bread and elderberry wine and sat down to his own meal.
ooc: I haven't heard from Soldier yet, and have tried to message him. I hope he comes back.

The fox growls softly to himself, not because he knows the ferret is right, but because he knows the ferret is right and he can't think up of a good reply. So instead he picks himself up off the bed, his head still spins slightly from the medication and the ends of his paws are half asleep. It would take more than that though to keep this fox from a decent meal. Grabbing a pastry from the basket the vulpine begins to munch on it, spreading the jelly inside all over his muzzle. "So what are you even doing out here...the both of you? Isn't this a little far from the nearest Woodlander Village...or ferret settlement." He pauses to think about this. "Do ferrets even /have/ settlements?" The image of a village run soley by ferrets takes hold in the vermin vulpine's mind. He shakes the thought away. ooc lol, I'm adjusting still to forum chat myself. I' used to mucks where everyone is at the gaming table all at once. Forum rp does however trade speed for quality. And I do like quality

"It's within sight of Redwall Abbey, but I prefer to stay here." said Fernleaf. "I cannot speak for Truslo, that's the hedgehog here, but I'm perfectly happy here living as a hermit and learning how to be a herbalist and a healer." He thought to himself, but what does that warrior Martin want of me? "Well, I haven't had a settlement. I was part of a horde in a past I want to forget. I don't even remember the name I had back then, but we had no real home, we wandered marauding from place to place. Most of us got what we deserved when those of Salamandastron came for us, and we were scattered. I was with one group of ferrets and stoats, a few searats as well, but they didn't like me, because of my father, and tried to kill me. That's the way vermin treat their own."
He took another drink and another bite of the bread. "Eat up, Truslo, it'll do you nothing but good." Looking over to the fox, he said "And I had no choice but to run for my life. And ended up exhausted at the gates of Salamandastron. I was surprised when they took me in, they treat prisoners better than we did, and I took sanctuary with them for a while, and saw how goodbeasts live. And I wanted what they had. That's what really changed me from vermin to goodbeast. And the rest, was the reason I'm here. How about you, Truslo?"
He picked up his cloak and shook it out, then put it on.
ooc: Yes, I love it! Quality is always better than quanitity. Your turn, soldier!

ooc oh yeah! An idea just struck me. If you want to catch up on what is going on with the other half of the story buildin up to Baro being here and also our possible future plot with Vermillion, read 'Ill scratch your back if you scratch mine..." in the forums. If you can see a place with your vermin npcs to be go for it. And if you want to toss in any vermin npcs as well Soldier, go for it.
Im just handling the more higher ranking npcs so the duty doesn't fall onto the shoulders of one person but that doesnt mean others cant join in on the fun ^^

(OOC: Alright, time to make a post, finally. lol)
He quivered slightly at the foxes scowl. "I'm sorry for whatever happened in my delerium. Just like mister fernleaf said though, it was not on purpose." He cheered up slightly at the sight of the basket full of food. "Wow! Redwall is certainly famous alright for its food, I hope I can cook as well as the Friar does." He shook his slightly when fernleaf said he should eat, "No, its fine, I can cook food anytime I need to. All my utensils and supplies are in my pack...so, if its any help for a apology, I could cook something up." He said, slightly nervous since this is the first time he ever attempted to cook for complete strangers. "Why I'm here? Well...its kinda what my family tradition is...a rite of passage you could say." he said while twiddling his paws.

The fox nods his head, half listening as he gulps down another pastry and a loaf of bread. He pauses to look at Truslo, "You can cook?" Baro rubs at his chin as he thinks about this. Returning to his meal the fox says, "You can bake me a pie later on to make up for it." Leaning back to lick pastry crumbs off of his muzzle the fox says sighs in contentment.
"Call me Baro, Baro Ermile. I can't say I blame you for leaving a horde. I, uh, had some problems with hordes in the past." The fox's ears figit uncomfortably but he doesn't elaberate further on the subject. Scratching at one of his ears with his hind paw he continues, "Redwall, that name sounds familiar..." The fox finishes his task and begins to stand up, "And what's this about a warrior?"

"I'm glad you're a good cook, Truslo. But it's a pity to let this deeper'n'ever pie go to waste. But Baro is right, that would make up for all of what happened."
Looking to Baro, Fernleaf said "I'm afraid what we know of Martin the Warrior is rather sketchy,Baro, but he seems to be an ancient hero of Redwall Abbey. I think we might have to go to the Abbey to find out more. I usually stay away from there, keeping to myself. I've been there once or twice, but never stayed there."

The fox tilts his head to the side the fox gives both ferret and hedgehog currious glances before rubbing at his nose bridge. The name Redwall is of course familiar, he rememebers it mentioned in a story told by either his parrents or prehaps in a tavern once or twice. But Baro didn't pay much attention to stories in his child hood and his memory was usually impared after going to a tavern...so...
The fox the instead focuses on this Marten fellow. Piecing together what he heard while under a daze of the pain relieving tonic he asks, "So...let me get this strait, some long dead mouse warrior came to you, in a /dream/ and told you to go to redwall?" The fox peers closely at the pastry in his paws, "Im sorry but how often do you drink your own medicine?"

"Yes, he seems to be some guardian spirit of Redwall, from what Truslo tells me." said Fernleaf, "And he especially looks over the greatest treasure Redwall has." He laughed at what Baro said. "I have dosed myself when I get sick, but have been healthy for many seasons, and don't need it."
He decided to break tradition of having only bread and elderberry wine, and took a slice of that beetroot and 'tater deeper'n'ever pie that his benefactors had sent for them. "Sure you don't want some, Truslo? It smells very good." Once in a while, he visited those Guosim shrews and gave in and had some of their delicious fare. But it had been at least a season since he had seen them.

Truslo was busy looking through his pack, rummaging through it. He hummed to himself as he did it, and then said, "Mister Fernleaf, is alright I cook inside your home or outside? Either is fine, I got enough flint and tinder for it." He asked politely. "It does seem like a waste, but I could always make my own anyway. I know enough recipes to get by," and a recipe book just in case,"so I could make you the pie if you want Baro." He said, looking to the fox he was no longer strangely frightened of anymore.

"Guardian Spirit?" The fox chuckled dryly, "I would dose yourself a little less with the medicine then."
Tossing another pastry into his greedy maw the pause gulped it down before replying to the hedgehog. In truth he had very little reason to be afraid of the vulpine. Be didn't care how much money he had on him, Baro did't want to have a second brush with his quills.
"I'm not one to refuse a pie when offered." He leaned back and gave his belly a pat while licking crumbs from his muzzle. His stomach was already a little swollen with the food he had taken from the basket.
"So you've been to this Redall place before Truslo? What's it like? Big town? Lot's of guards?"

"Town? No, no, Redwall isn't a town, though it sure sounds like one though. I haven't been there yet though, so I can't really say much about it." Truslo said honestly, since all he heard about it was from stories and rumors from passing beasts. "The only one here thats been there would be Mister Fernleaf. If you want to know more, probably best you ask him yourself." He said as he still waited for Fernleaf to answer his question.
(OOC: Yeah...if I say hes been there or whatever it will contradict whats happened with him so far)

The fox nodded his head, "Ah see. Well then Mr. Ferret. What is redwall like?" Baro took a break from his gluttony to stretch out on the bed. It felt good to be full again. It also helped with his own stress to the situation. He still didnt trust either of them fully yet but he did trust them not to be hostile. Which was also an interesting feeling. One he had not known for a long while. "So one of these small woodlander villages? I take it has a fort or something, you know, being called Redwall and all." Ooc doh! Sorry XD also i cant seem to get the chat room option at the bottom of the screen working...also also, your move on los lobos soldier sorry spam attack there XD but only when you are ready.

"Yes, it looks like a fort." said Fernleaf. "But it is an abbey, run by an Abbot. It is a place where beasts can live in peace. But don't let that fool you. They can defend themselves if attacked. They have defended themselves against the worst of hordes and enemies. It is watched over by the guardian spirit of Martin the Warrior, who founded the Abbey. It is well known for their feasts. The food here was probably made over there." He took a bite of the deeper'n'ever pie. "Truslo, you can cook either here or outside, it doesn't make a bit of difference. I'd like to see a sample of your cooking, though I live simply here."
He looked back to Baro. "And they watch over a great treasure there at Redwall." A dreamy look came to the ferret's eyes."After we're done eating, we may make our way over to the Abbey to meet them."
