Name: Larkspur “Lark” Elderberry Foxglove Twayblade Bigbones and Raspberry “Rasp” Ivy Thrift Elm Bigbones Gender: Males Age: 15 Species: Mountain Hares Occupation: Long Patrol Cadets/Outcasts (and will complain about getting 'exiled' as often as people will let them caterwaul).
Physical Appearance: Tall for their age, the twins often are mistaken for being older than what they truly are (usually about 18-20 rather than their usual 15 and they enjoy abusing this). They both wear common brown tunics each and enjoy looking like one another. They have brawn builds, toning from years of horse play and fighting one another (and any other in the clan when not doing hard labor for punishment). Both are covered in dark gray fur, making them entirely identical save for that Lark has a cream colored spot on his muzzle that only covers the left side, where in a mirrored location Rasp has it on the right side of his muzzle (and the two are not afraid to take coal to their fur to hide the spots and really mess with people). They have striking light brown eyes that truly hint to a spark they have (sadly it often twinkles when ideas hit for trouble). A leather belt is across each waist, holding a hunting knife to each, pack for their stones for their slings, and a halberd each across the shoulders.
Possessions: Sling and ammunition: Both twins carry a steady set as at least one ranged projectile is good no matter a situation. Both are fairly good quick-shots with how many years of pranks they have played as well as many games that help pass the time.
Hunting Knife: A close melee weapon is always good for traveling! It also helps should they need to do anything while they travel about.
Halberd: A parting gift from their father as well as a means to give the boys additional protection. While the twins have a basic understanding of how to use it, they are by no means even intermediate. They insist however they make excellent walking-sticks.
Personality: [General] The twins often are so alike it is rather difficult for beasts to tell them apart who don't get to know them or are not particularly observant. From a young age they have been trouble makers; often making up stories to try and get out of trouble (though usually they will either contradict one another, or not agree with the on-the-fly story and as such get found out, let alone the tale will be quite tall), thieving food from storage, and being just overall nuisances all around. Neither of the two like being bored too long, and even chores or punishments are still something better than nothing (and idle paws between these two can get dangerous).
[Lark] What separates Lark in the twin set is he is the more down-to-Earth hare. A reason he often fights with Rasp is because usually something Rasp says does not make logical sense (such as a small bird carrying something easily ten times its size and weight). Being more of the critical thinker, he seems to be the ring-leader of the two when it comes to thinking up plans and pranks against others. While it is not often someone may catch them, even when Rasp seems to be in the lead of something it usually is by Lark's planning for it to be so.
[Rasp] Rasp is the more imaginative twin. Fairy-tales and legends have always been his thing and as such tends to live day to day in his own dream world, as Lark enjoys putting it. Because of this however in the plans it is often because of Rasp's imagination and innate ingenuity that things can get accomplished. One would not think a miniature catapult could be built in a day between two brothers but with the proper materials and drive and blackmail/manipulation of fellows...
Strengths: Brawling (Both) : The twin set both due to years of chasing one another around as well as other kinsmen and clan members that they are quite hardy with a lot of endurance. Of course a good fight is a great way to spend the afternoon among friends and they both fully believe this to the extent they are not afraid to walk up to someone and just punch them in greeting (even if it means they will get pummeled for it).
Hand-Eye Coordination (Both) : With years of practice with their slings and usually in competition with one another over who can hit what, the duo have a fairly mean aim with. This of course has moved on to other things in their youth, and while still probably can be bested, it is still a talent for them at their own age.
Ingenuity (Rasp Only) : With his daydream state, Rasp some how finds odd links between things and managed to dream up interesting schematics (as well as the ideas how to build them, though he does not always get it right on the first go and trial and error is needed).
Tactician (Lark Only) : Being more clever in the ways of things around him than what to think up out of thin air, Lark has always been better suited in applying what they have to make it work to the goal they want.
Weaknesses: Habitual Liar (Both) : It is not that they cannot control themselves, they are more curious if you are simple-minded enough to fall for their tall tales or whatever reason they see it fit to lie about. (Though they are often caught due to their own arguing). Lies can range as something believable to outlandishly absurd, depending on day and mood. (A day they tell the truth is a day one needs to be concerned if they are sick, or they respect you and the situation enough not to do it). They rarely lie about others, however (though they may exaggerate).
Impish Nature (Both) : No one is quite sure where this demeanor comes from but the urge to prank and annoy other beasts is very strong within them. They very often go too far, but honestly are not aware that what they are doing is considered a bad thing as they do believe this is a form of affection.
Society (Both ) : Because of their roguish nature, their punishments growing up has caused them to become a bit confused in what is to be expected of good beasts. While they never mean any real harm (unless, you know, harm needs to be brought down), then rough housing with anyone to any extent is considered good fun and a way to tell someone you like their company. For the twins themselves, the same goes for their pranking (as their pranks are only set up to harm someone if they had done harm to another beast, after all. Unless it backfires but Rasp has learned to test his inventions first after the broken arm incident, honest!). Because of this, they think any form of physical discipline is a sign they are liked and do not handle tears or being ignored very well at all.
Vanity (Both) : They are the most handsome hares around, you cannot tell them otherwise without breaking into a fight. They are both extremely proud of their names as well and mocking such will also ask for a fight. However this becomes a problem to one another because they each think they are more handsome than their twin.
Vengeful (Lark) : Lark seems to be the one who holds grudges longer than his brother and is rather protective over what is his (friends and family in particular since making friends has never been easy for the two). Because of this once he views you in a negative light, he holds nothing back and can be rather cruel in choice of words as well as actions depending on what he feels someone deserves.
Naive (Rasp) : Rasp seems to believe there is a good in everyone and a silver lining to every cloud. Because of this he does have a bit of a naive outlook to the world when it comes to other beasts and so more easily to be tricked by deception out of the two.
History: Born to Bearberry Dillworthy-Bigbones and Laburnum Elder Thistle, Bearberry the clan leader of 'Northern Branch' of mountain hares and their father a simple warrior of the clan. The only children to the couple as their mother often joked that anymore with the mix of their blood would make her fur turn gray well before her seasons. The twins were a handful right from the beginning and grew quickly to enjoying pranks and roughhousing. Because their father was a rough house type himself, it was how he played with the children (which spurred on their belief that being violent in a non-destructive way is a good thing).
As the twins grew they quickly became the little demons of the clan and were often dreaded from time to time. Big gluttons the both of them, not to mention easily able to rouse up any of their fellows to get into fights with them by either words or pranks; though is all just seemed to be in good fun to the twins. To try and dissuade them from destructive behavior, their mother had them learn many chores and laborious duties around the clan – from growing to harvesting to leather working to crafting with woods and metals. All of this only seemed to serve the twins with more fuel for their pranks when they did end up with free time.
Finally with them at a age that seemed to both be their most destructive and safe for them to travel, their mother has sent out a notice to their uncle, Saxifrage Dillworthy-Bigbones, as a plea take the twins on and have the Long Patrol teach them some discipline (not necessarily join but if they are found useful it would be welcomed). Of course the twins dramatically felt this was a form of exile, and will dramatize the story there in. With satchels for rations, and a halberd gifted to each of them from their father, the duo set off with the directions to Salamandastron to meet this uncle neither could really remember they had.
Relationships: Bearberry Dillworthy-Bigbones – Mother – A spoilsport of a hare maid but they respect her position and know she loves them dearly – even when they weave atrocious tails of how she tried to cut off their tails for soup. [Age 40] Laburnum Elder Thistle – Father – Who they most admire growing up. The closest relative they had in the clan at home and who they felt most connection with (even if messages got crossed back and forth from time to time). [Age 42]
Other: Lark is right handed, while Rasp is left handed. (It is joked at home it happened because they like to mirror one another so much). Already have Nikki's permission for the twins to be related to her Sax.
