This is a WIP profile as the father to my large family addition to the Green Isle plot ( cometolora.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=p&action=display&thread=2804&page=1 ). He is WIP because his history must be adjusted and fleshed out with each child as people sign up and contribute.
Name: Eli Galedeep
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Species: Sea Otter
Occupation: Wanderer, Fisher-otter
Physical Appearance:
[General]
Quite an average size and build of a sea otter, making him a bit taller than your typical otter and rather heavier in weight to make way for tolerance of colder waters with all that thicker fur. Regardless he is quite a happy soul that shows in his bright red-purple eyes and a grin that is practically glued on his muzzle. He has white fur for his face that stops just at the base of his neck as it curves to his shoulders, with solid black ears and black nose. From his shoulders, trailing down his torso and arms his fur is a darker gray with white underfur that fades to a light golden hue at his paws. From his torso his fur fades to his foot paws and tail as a solid black. There are small scattered scars that trail along his body that is difficult to see beneath the thick fur, though his golden paws are missing some fur where scars layer over from where he jumped in to defend his son from some shrews.
[Clothing]
While perfectly fine not wearing clothing during times for swimming, when out and about with traveling Eli often wears a blue vest that ties at three points in his front, holding two pockets at the front. About his waist usually is a belt that holds things such as wrapped flint and tinder, fishing line, and a small cutting knife. Though when traveling for long distances he does tend to wear a darker blue cloak for additional pocket purposes (as well as a handy blanket if needed).
Possessions:
[Belt and Vest Pockets] – That hold small things such as wrapped flint and tender, extra fishing wire, and a small cutting knife.
[Sling and Ammunition] – while reserved, a ranged weapon can help in many other non-combative incidents.
[Fishing Spear] – Handy for melee, but primary use is for hunting fish.
[Small Fishing Boat] – Like many otters of Drift Wood, Eli owns a small fishing boat that doubles for traveling purposes as well. Boat holds simple things such as spare rope and netting for fishing.
Personality:
Eli is a very kind and generous sea otter. It is often joked the beast could forgive even the most terrible creature regardless of his crimes and still find love in his heart for said beast. He is a very altruistic beast who is easily torn by his own love for other beasts and what is right. He does have a mindset that justice should be reached out to everyone, regardless of what you are but more to what you have done. He is the first to act out to protect even a stranger, and will give everything he has in assistance to another beast. Because of this, Eli has quite a history of adopting creatures he finds that are orphaned regardless of their species. (He also has gotten around, very easily finding love even if it is not exactly something to stay together over as life-mates, but has fathered children as well from such things and tries to remain responsible about it).
Strengths:
[Open-Minded] Even if Eli does not exactly understand it and may question it, the sea otter is extremely open minded and willing to try anything at least once and very accepting otherwise to others and their points of views in life, even if it is not something he may agree with.
[Compassionate] The drive behind Eli that compels him to aid others and work for the better of other beasts.
[Face Value] What he sees is what he gets. He believes everything if he has absolutely no reason to doubt one's claims. This even goes to something in having friendly conversations with species that are often vermin if they are peaceful about his presence and are not trying to cause him harm.
[Patience] Eli is an extremely patient otter, and quite happy with things. Even when faced with various trials in life, he always has a smile on his face and takes one step at a time to finding a solution.
[Tracking] Despite having started his life aboard Drift Wood, Eli has become an excellent tracker over the years in his times of traveling on land.

Weaknesses:
[Overly-Trusting] Eli will trust anyone. While he understands lying, it just seems rude to assume or think someone to be doing it and finds it better to try and take a beast at their word rather than risk an assumption and act when it very well may have been the truth.
[Overly-Forgiving] If Eli feels sincerity, even if a beast has not learned their lesson, Eli is very quick to forgive and often may dole out a punishment (if any) that other beasts may consider far less than what the crime should have been given.
[Patience] because of his patient nature, Eli often may not take a chance when one may be required if he feels waiting would be a better option. Even then at times, Eli does have a limit (though very difficult to stack to that point) and may suffer a sort of break down if he is ever pushed pass that limitation.
[Children] While a good beast and kind and loving to all, he has a weakness for children, and the younger the worse it is. While Eli does not spoil a child, he does not think abuse or anything of the sort is right and will interfere no matter the case (this includes to other species if he feels what is being dished out is inappropriate).
[Hot Weather] Being that his build, fur, and overall general type is made for cooler waters, Eli does not like hot and dry weather and can become quite sluggish. The longer he is exposed in it, he can actually get sick from the tolerance shift so he tries to find ways to keep cool.
History:
Eli is blood related to the Otters of Green Isle through the Galedeep clan, however the sea otter does not live on the island itself. Instead, about two generations before him, Drift Wood was formed by families of fisher-beasts. At the time initially (about 80 years ago) it was nothing but otters however today other species have been welcomed to join.
Drift Wood is a floating island of boats that when not moving as a fleet from one location to another along the coast or Green Isle itself, it is tied together through various wooden bridges and rope bridge systems. As a mobile village, it is currently at 15 larger vessels and 10 smaller sized ships, not accounting for tiny one or two beast ships that often are pulled along the larger ships when not in use for fishing themselves. Drift Wood has a council of elders (currently the number is 5) who make group decisions on where to go next for a good harvest, as well as which closer locations to visit and barter with. (Those of Drift Wood often do trades this way). Overall the small village are like minded in that they are fairly open-minded and find truce with any beast who means them no harm.

Other:
While Drift Wood is a floating island/city, it is open for anyone who wants to join in, no permission needed (though I'd like a heads up because it would be fun to see!)
