Your character's full name: William Slade

A light borwn shirt and a jacket if needed, matching pants, and thick cloth boots that provide good freedom of movment. Before the previous Champion retired Will had trained with a blade that he had taken from the leader of the vermin band that captured him. But once the champion had retired the blade of Martin the warrior was passed down to him.
Job or Position:
Champion and protector of Redwall
Personality:
When he was growing up he was very trusting, and trusted most all creatures he met right away. This led him to his capture of a vermin slave band when he was thirteen.
He had just trusted the wrong vermin, and wandered to far away from his parents. But after his escape on his eighteenth birthday he was much more secluded from his years of solitude. Such was how he found his way to redwall, and was taken in with open arms. Since then he has become a little more open, but still harbors a hatred for all vermin. But with goodbeasts or vermin that have proved themselfs good beasts he is a very nice creature. Eager to help with any problem and to listen to any problems.
Weakness/Strength:
His strength is his brute strength and his skill with a blade from years of training and labor.
His weakness is his lack to trust to all vermin, even if they prove to be good. He also loses control if he sees any good beast hurt, much like the bloodrath.
History/Background:
He was born into a average woodland mouse family, seeing Redwall a few times in his youth, and always being friendly to any beast he met. But one day when he was thirteen he trusted the wrong ferret, and was jumped by larger ferrets when he was just out of hearing range of his family.
He found himself on a slave line, chained to the long line were many other woodland creatures. After a season of marching through the winter Will found himself in a slave mine. Forced to work long into the night every day with little or no food Will soon became very silent, but his resolve could never be stronger.
Finally, one day, on the morning of his eighteenth birthday, he stole a sword from a sleeping guard, and fought his way out. Freeing the other slaves they overpowered the slave masters, and they escaped.
Will searched long and hard, but he could not find his family, so he finally retired to the only other place he had ever known, Redwall Abbey. He was greeted with open arms and smiles, but still never talked much. That is, until he met Martin, both Warrior mice hit it of right away, and Martin started training Will in the way of the sword.
For five years Will trained hard, soon become a extremely good swords beast. He was very surprised when one day Martin presented him with the sword of Martin the Warrior, and told him he was to be the new champion.
Since then he has been protecting the abbey, still fairly new to the job, but doing the best he can to protect those he cared about.
Relations:
His parents and little sister were lost to him when he was taken into slavery and he hasn't seen them since.
