Name: Zego Bluggut
Gender: Male
Age: Forty-eight years
Species: Siberian Weasel
Occupation: Warlord of the Darkplume Horde.
Physical Appearance:
-Physical Appearance-
Zego is no weakling. Even at his age, he has a stout build, heavily muscled, and well tuned. Unfortunately, he is on the short side, ranking about 5'1 in Redwall height. His fur is yellowish, with some gray coming forth, as he nears his later seasons. His fur around his face appears as black, seeming as a mask. The weasel carries a perfectly sported goatee, the edges slightly gray. His dark amber eyes are almond-shape, and usually squinty. Unlike most vermin, his teeth are perfectly cared for, and pearl white. His wrists are scarred from his days as an oarslave.
-Casual Attire-
For casual attire, Zego sports a red and plaid tunic, and kilt. The kilt is held up by a snakeskin belt, with a silver buckle. The buckle is oval shaped, with no design. He sports a good pair of fitted boots, with brass buckles. He wears long gray socks up to his knees.
-Armor-
For his armor, Zego dons a black full body chain-mail suit, including leggings. Over his chain-mail suit, he bears a heavy black breast-plate. He wears black armor shoulder pads, and a heavy helmet, include with a mask, and visor, which can be flipped down. He wears plate leggings over the front of his chain-mail leggings. He sports a heavy pair of plate boots. He wears a heavy belt than his casual one, but with a similar buckle.
Possessions:
For weapons, Sego carries a polearm. This polearm dons a heavy solid iron hammer for its head. As a secondary weapon, which he also dons in casual clothing, he carries a Xiphos. (http://www.lyberty.com/blog/2007/03-mar/xiphos_recreation1.jpg)
Personality:
Zego is no loud speaker, or user of harsh words. That is what his captains are for. He speaks only to the upper ranks, not out of smugness, but to assure a sense of nervousness, and fear into the lower ranks. He is, on the other hand, a beast of superstition. He whole-heartedly believes the omens of his seer. But, should an omen turn out wrong, he will slay his seer on the spot. When an omen is faked, that is the only time he will show his temper, as he hates pretenders.
Zego is a warlord of old. Rather than devise secret plots, he will openly declare war on any beast he wishes to (though if it spares more lives, he is open to espionage) . He does have an honor-code, not killing any any unarmed beast. He will openly accept a challenge, and pending on the rules made before hand, will or will not execute his opponent, when he has won the duel.
Zego is of above average intelligence, and somewhat cunning. He can easily devise a battle plan, which may lead to espionage, at the thought of less lost lives.
Strengths:
-Even in his older age, Zego has maintained a strong figure.
-He is a smart creature.
-Unlike most other vermin leaders, he is not a coward.
Weaknesses:
-In his older age, Zego has begun to have stomach aches, causing him to end battles more abruptly (at least for himself)
-He has some mercy, and if fighting an untrustworthy beast, may drop his guard in his old age.
-He is somewhat slow, because of the old age.
History:
Zego was born in Siberia. Raised from farmers, he tended hard, icy soil for years. By the time he reached adolescence, he was a powerfully built creature. At the age of eighteen, he left his parents, to sail and pursue a career of trades. His father offered him a family heirloom to keep safe, which was the Xiphos, which his ancestor had scavenged long ago.
In his life on the sea, his first position was that of a cook, whereas he used his blade as a knife. It served this purpose quite well. He became quite an ideal cook in the year and a half at sea. The trader vessel occasionally stopped at coastal towns, in which he served as a bodyguard, because of his build. No coast-town bloke dared to confront the powerful looking weasel.
After about a year and seven months at sea, their ship was attacked by corsairs. Zego was captured, and beaten mercilessly. His sword was taken by the captain, and the ship was burned down. Zego was made to oar the ship for a good five months. This only served to strengthen him, but only a little, as the lack of food weaken him as well. One night, Zego chewed through his bonds, and crept into the captains quarters. Strangling him to death, he took back his Xiphos, and slaughtered the crew, most in their sleep. After tossing their bodies off the ship, he freed the oarslaves. The former prisoners took command of the vessel. Rather than assume the role as Captain, Zego simply wanted to become a trader.
After about two years of trading, Zego left his friends, and wished them fair-well. He journeyed the land, meeting up with two ravens. According to the older one, they were seers. Even as a babe, Zego was always superstitious. He accompinied teh two birds, and, with their advice, formed a gang. His greatest ally was the fox, Grommun. Eventually this gang became a hundred beasts. The older raven advised him to attack a fort.
Following its advice, they attacked. Unfortunately, they were defeated and fifty beast were slain that day. Mad at his seer, for the and advice, Zego slew him the next time he saw him. The second raven was the older's apprentice, and appointed as Top Seer. That was Orku. Years later, Orku advised him to attack the same fort again, at midnight, on a summer day. Once again, with a horde ranking of a hundred vermin, Zego followed this advise, though ever wary. Battering the gate, it instantly fell down, rotted termites, all spring. His horde quickly moved in, and captured the fort's occupants. Many would later join his horde.
The horde found an armory of dark, metal suits, and polearms in the fort. Taking these, the horde venture northward. After years of conquering, they reached Mossflower. When Zego conquered a land, he would stay for a few years, and then leave. he would leave the creatures in peace.
Orku, the raven seer, had gathered up a score of carrion birds, as his personal bodyguards over the years. Zego never minded this, as long as his visions were correct. Zego would name the horde the Darkplume Horde because of these blackbirs along with teh darka rmor they bore.
