Name: Aloyoshenka Vasiliev
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Species: Pine Marten
Occupation: Wanderer
Physical Appearance: He is short and stocky with a broad nose and a very muscular form. He has deep green eyes that show so much expression at one time it could almost make you cry. He has a dark reddish coat for a pine marten. His thick paws can be almost noiseless when he walks. His fur is very dense and fairly short. A large white patch covers his neck. He has a large red and black tattoo of a snake covered by two pine marten paw prints, it starts near the top left side of his chest and winds around and down to end up on his lower left back. He has a long scar on his face that starts up at his left ear and stops at the right left of his mouth narrowly missing his eye. Again, emphasis on the fact that he is muscular; this is one of the first things you notice when you look at him. He has very thick and dark whiskers on his snout and a dark round black nose. All in all he’s a very handsome pine marten eh? (Lol!)
Possessions: On his left arm is a crude metal armband, perhaps steel or something similar. This is engraved with a rough outline of the same paw prints that appear in his tattoo. His only clothes are a pair of light tan tattered breeches belted on at the waist with a ragged strip of yellowish cloth. A rapier he inherited from his father is his only weapon.
Personality: He is selfless and ready to lay down his life for others. A stalwart and devoted creature yet sometimes seen as a loner. After the death of his brother, Stefan Vasiliev, his somewhat inconsolable fits of silence seem odd to others. His only times of happiness seemed to have been his younger stages of childhood. He is not the stern and cold type with no love for otherbeasts but his disposition was drastically changed by his life’s events. His thoughtful and caring side he inherited from his mother and his strong, stern, rough side he obviously got from his father. Whether this was all inherited or is some was taught to him by following his parent’s example it is hard to say.
Strengths: He is very good at detecting treachery… If an enemy lays a trap he will most likely find it and find some way around it. Constantly being aware and ready to fight without notice is another advantage of his… He is always ready for a battle and never taken by surprise. He can easily multitask, a trait that not many people can do efficiently and effortlessly. He is also considered a talented leader, this strength he possessed since early childhood. He has great physical strength also. (That’s 4 Strengths)
Weaknesses: He isn't very agile. (You never heard of a muscleman tightrope walker have you! ) He is stubborn and hardheaded and always has to win his arguments. He hates anything to do with Salamandastron. Badgers, Hares, Smithing, and even a slight dislike of fire. (3 Weaknesses)
History: His father was a mariner given to bouts of drunkenness. He would come home late at night and leave early in the morning. He met Margarita Petrova in the summer when he was 23 and she was 21. Well, obviously they fell in love… They got married in the heart of Mossflower Wood. (You never hear about vermin or non-vermin marriages in The Books so we can skip that.)
After eight months they had their first child. It was easy to tell Aloyoshenka Vasiliev had a quiet reserved sort of strength about him. Three years after Aloyoshenka was born Stefan their 2nd child came. Stefan and Aloyoshenka were very close as brothers and spent much of their time together.
By the age of 13 Aloyoshenka had gathered quiet a formidable group of friends about him. Of these 7 or so friends one was to become his closest and most treacherous companion. Brendan Channing was 14 years old and as wild and bold as a weasel can be. He fell in with Aloyoshenka’s lot mainly out of respect for the leader. They soon became fast friends and were not easily separated.
Around age 15 Aloyoshenka went with his father to help with repairing the ships. His father, Anatolii Vasiliev, worked with a group of other creatures, vermin and otherwise, to sail ships or to keep them seaworthy. (They would also rob people in a minor way, like not so dangerous Vikings.) Aloyoshenka would get paid only a miniscule amount for his labor even though he was one of their best workers.
After his 17th birthday Anatolii went out to sea late with some of his closest friends, they planed to go near to Salamandastron and then return back. They had heard of a vermin band that lurked there and wanted to investigate. They left without warning and never returned. Needless to say Margarita Vasiliev started to struggle with bouts of depression.
After this event Brendan became interested in the areas around Salamandastron. Once again the sailors (with the exception of Anatolii and the rest who went with him) decided to journey to the coast near the mountain. This time Brendan begged to go with them. The agreed and at once set out. When the got to the coast the vermin were waiting.
A large assortment of vermin beasts were standing on the beach. Relentlessly they fell upon the sailor and attacked. Some were killed before they sailors lifted anchor and set sail again.
Brendan was left on the shore where he stumbled into Stefan who had stowed away. In the dark the vermin ran into the two beasts. One of the vermin reached for Brendan in the dark. Brendan panicked and shoved Stefan towards the vermin and ran away. One of the vermin ran Stefan through and Brendan saw him fall. Brendan ran and hid never telling anyone what happened.
When Margarita found out her 2nd son was lost she again went into depression and a year later died. Aloyoshenka was left on his own to wander.
