Name: Kailani Lanaya Wavedog
Nickname(s): Kai (to those who know her well) "Rouge" to other redwallers. To others who have just met her or do not yet know what she is like, she is either called Kailani, or Lanaya.
Gender: Female

Species: Sea Otter
Occupation: Redwaller
Appearance:
Physical- Kailani is a tall, skinny, female sea otter. Her body is athletic and stream-lined. Her fur is a sleek, smooth, dark brown. It lays flat along her back and glistens as if it was covered by water. Her hands and footpaws are jet-black till about halfway up her arms and legs. The tip of her tail is also a very dark black. She has a longer rudder than most sea otters, and she stands just slightly taller than an average female sea otter. Her eyes are a light, glittering, turquoise that contrasts with her deep color of fur. She has long black eyelashes and whiskers. Her paws have very light pink pads on them and her claws are white.
Clothing- She wears something that looks a bit like a Redwaller’s habit, but instead of the traditional green her clothes are bright pink. She has a little sky-blue belt, boots, gloves, and a matching blue headband. She always wears a silver tail-ring that was given to her by her mother.
Possessions: Her mother’s silver tail-ring which she promised never to let out of her sight even for a minute. She also keeps little silver dagger she was gifted by her father. In addition to her own clothes she keeps a Redwaller’s habit (which she never wears).
Personality: Kai is fairly emotional and always very kind. She feels a need to help other beasts whenever she can. This was probably influenced by both the Redwallers and by her loving parents. She has a bright personality, and is very energetic. She never seems to grow tired for a minute. She is a very determined beast also. When she gets started on a task she hates to give up and will almost never admit to failure. She also has a very different side to her. She will often take part in pranks involving other Redwallers. Her roughish and wild attitude sometimes gets her in trouble despite her sweet intentions. A loving personality and a rambunctious nature are her most predominant characteristics. She earned the nickname "rouge" when she was still very little. Often in passing she is just hailed as "rouge" instead of Kailani.

Background:
For the longest time Kroova and Leiani were wanderers. They spent most of their time around the shores near Salamandastron. They fished for food and survived off of the land's natural shelters and resources.
When they had their first pup, Kroova the 4th, they continued to live as they had. After all he was a very hardy little otter and was tough enough to live on the wild coast. When they had Kailani though, five years later, they decided they would need a more suitable place to raise the young ottermaid.
They decided to travel to Redwall Abbey. As with many homeless wanderers, they had heard many great things about this massive shelter. When Kailani was still not yet a full season old, her parents and five year old brother reached Redwall safely. They felt greatly attached to the old place, and decided they would settle down there.
Two years later, when Kailani was old enough to talk and play with the other dibbuns, her little sister Lilly was born. Lilly was a quite little otter, and very sweet also. Kailani was a bit more rambunctious, but the sisters still loved eachothers company immensely.
