Name: Kenzie Conzett (Ken-zee Con-zet)
Gender: Female
Age: 24 Years
Species: Hare
Occupation: Colonel in the Long Patrol
Physical Appearance:
Kenzie is very short and petite by Hare standards, although she isn't quite short as a mouse or your standard woodlander she does cut it rather close. Her fur is very lightly coloured, but not to the extent of resembling the sands as Breeze does; more simply put a few shades above the rest in the colour spectrum. Her under-belly fur is nearly white, but a little on the sandy side; rivaling Breeze in terms of camouflage.
Her eyes are as hazel as the nuts that she craves so much and she has relatively little to no scars contrary to the other senior officers. Whether she is just exceptional at avoiding damage or just lucky that her body never scars is a question frequently asked and forgotten.
She wears a rough old red tunic, something she never seems to grow out of; if anything she's still growing into it somewhat. It is tied and held in check with a thin elegant leather belt with a copper buckle which often holds her short-sword's sheath at her side(As a spear would be a bit troublesome to carry around); contrary to her laid-back companions Kenzie is almost always armed.
Possessions
As a Colonel, Kenzie isn't a braggart, with most of her medals being reluctantly handed over to Breeze since he would brag and beg with the resolution of a brick wall.
Her weapons vary, though her favored weapon and style of combat is the spear, which leads to many jokes that she uses it to compensate for her size, namely on Breeze's behalf.
Personality:
Kenzie tries to surround herself with a wall of stoicism, constantly trying to maintain the illusion that she is a cold-hearted leader, thinking not on her emotions but by pure logic. It is a common sight to see her barking down a sub-ordinate at the slightest whim, almost as if she enjoys it; nothing could be further from the truth.
However the illusion she weaves often fails due to the fact that it goes completely against her nature, under that stern exterior lies a heart of gold and a young hare who just grew up too quickly. Many a time has she risked her life and her orders for the sake of an insignificant rescue, a completely different side of her; never one to usually take such a risk. And time and time again whenever anyone in the Mountain brings it up she simply shrugs and doesn't reply, avoiding the question as best she can, only to further destroy her image.
Strengths:
The young Colonel is a real prodigy and a bit of a tomboy. Her skills with combat and leadership are fairly advanced for her age, it is a common joke/compliment that she is really as old as Sarge only managing to retain her youth. This of course is false.
Weaknesses:
Her temper; act or not. Her violent temper is one genuine feature that never fails to ignite at the slightest spark. And her conflicting attitude, she wants to be two things that simply cannot live with the other.
History:
Kenzie's life has and always will be centered around Salamandastron, she was born there and as a child enjoyed sparring with her friends, a little too much. Though despite giving her friends a few broken bones and cuts, the same practice/game went on each day until they could sign up for the Long Patrol. Kenzie signed up with her companions and the group was split up and divided amongst the many squads and platoons but the times in the Mess Hall always gave them time to reinforce their friendship.
Then came a her first war, she had risen steadily in the ranks due to her unnatural discipline and attained the rank of Corporal. The battle-plan was simple, a fairly large group of corsairs were attacking the mountain; simple task requiring a relatively small group of hare's. Amongst that number was Sergeant Breeze, a strapping young hare with a mouth bigger then his supposed bravery, as well as many of Kenzie's child-hood companions, reunited at last in their first real combat situation.
The attack didn't exactly go to plan, no one was certain as to why, but the scouts had failed to count the exact number; how they managed to confuse 20 with 200 was anyone's guess, perhaps they had forgotten one zero on the report, who knows? It didn't matter, the squad was slaughtered no sooner then had they stepped aboard the ship, Kenzie had passed out and found herself lying near a rock and there were those same reckless eyes she had become accustomed to; it was Breeze grinning away as if nothing had happened.
The truth was much more worse, the entire squad was dead; Breeze had only escaped because he surrendered himself and got himself kicked off for eating most of their supplies at the first chance. He dragged Kenzie's unconscious form out, of course; he was the one whom had knocked her out as he was the first to realize the fatal error. His reason? She had became too hyped up about the battle and nearly charged ahead of the group; thus endangering herself and the mission.
From that day, Kenzie became who she was, that squad was partly her responsibility and she had failed. She swore to never do so again, she blames herself every day for the failure and looks up to Breeze somewhat; he saved her life, managed to keep a cool head and was promoted to Captain a short while after.
Relationships:
Breeze - A close friend and like a older brother to her a real love hate relationship due to Breeze's jokes.
Sarge - She respects him more then she respects many of the other officers, despite being of the lower class; he should right up with her in Kenzie's opinion. He's always the one to resolve Breeze and Kenzie's disputes
Ashstripe - The two have a similar attitude somewhat, both are stoic in nature and fairly disciplined, so it is no surprise that they get along rather well.
