Physical Appearance:
A tall, lean otter, Jethro stands 5'8 (Redwall height). His fur is light brownish gray. His eyes are gray-green. The otter has a long, thin, but powerful rudder tail.
He wears a warm gray shirt. Covering this is an old, tattered coat. Once black, it had faded to dark, smoky gray. He wears wheat colored pants, and black hiking boots. An eelskin belt is donned around his waist. He wears a a bead necklace.
Possessions:
He carries a short sword, slid into his belt. He also has a small haversack with survival gear. Flint, matches, a thin bladed knife, a hollowed iron stake, used for sticking in the ground and listening for footsteps. He also dons a paw-ring, gold with a small emerald. He also wears his bead necklace.
Personality:
Jethro had once been a strict commander, but after years of being discharged, he had lightened up greatley. He drinks on occasion. He will also sink low enough to be hired for any job. He has lost all sense of dignity. His once sharp mind has been clouded.
Strengths:
Jethro is a skilled warrior and scout. He can track quite easily, and can fight to. It was in his training. He is quite charismatic.
Weaknesses:
He drinks a good amount. He will do anything for money nowadays.
History:
Jethro Shellhound was born to Skipper Roja Shellhound and and Hemlie Shellhound. Jethro was trained to be a warrior at a young age. When he turned fifteen, he was appointed into the Green Isle Regiment. Jethro quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a Scout Sergeant by seventeen. By twenty-one, he was the Commander of the scouts.
At one point, the young Commander and his father had combined their forces to fight a small threat of corsairs on the west coast. The corsairs ambushed them, slaughtering fifteen otters, and only losing seven of their numbers. They quickly retreated back to the Sea. Roja Shellhound was killed during the battle.
Jethro was de-comissioned for his incompitence in the battle. The High Rhulian declared that he should have scouted the area out first. He was the Scout Commander.
Jethro was unable to attain a military rank after that. Not even private. The otter had been a large candidate for Skipper after his father retired from it, but was unable to claim it.
Jethro smuggled aboard a ship soon after, and sailed to Mossflower. There, he lived as a mercenary. He was twenty three at this point. The otter lived the rest of his days as that.
