Maken wandered the stony caverns of Salamandastron untill he encountered a small ledge for which he could nap peacefully. He grinned, then yawned explosively. "Wow. I'm bally tired, wot." he muttered. He stretched out on the rock with his double spear next to him, so he could be ready for battle in a moment's notice, and promptly fell asleep. It had seemed he was asleep for only a moment(actually ten minuets) when he was rudely awakened by a loud voice shouting his name. "I'm up already." he yawned. He stretched and sat up and looked at the beast calling his name.

((Meh I may as well join and stretch my limits further..))
Breeze bent over was at eye-level with Maken, he was quite curious with this young fellow, he hadn't seen a hare take a nap whilst on duty other then Sarge for a while but sure enough Maken had done so, "Y'alright Maken ol'boy?" Breeze prodded him in the forehead, "Didn't know age was contagious wot? Must've caught it off Sarge eh?" He grinned again, if age was contagious he would be well and truly older then Sarge and Ashstripe put together.

Maken blinked. "Wot? I'm alright." He yawned. "Its just that I like taking naps. I'm so bally tired all the time." He scrated his ears as he looked at Breeze. "I perfer naps to work." He grinned. He stood up, and held looked at the other hare quizically. "Do you want me to do something?" The long furred hare blocked another yawn with the back of his paw and hoped that Breeze had nothing for him to do. He was quite looking forward to resuming his nap.

"Eh? Wot? Nothing of the sort ol'scout wot!" Breeze grinned, work and order's were not a part of his vocabulary, "Jus' came lookin' 'round on th' jolly ol' rounds wot!" His smile widened furthermore; anymore and he would be in violation of the laws of nature. It wasn't uncommon for hare's to nap on the job in recent times as it may as well have been times of peace; contrary to the fact that one of their arch-enemies was residing in their very mountain to escape the scourge that they had waged war with for a few years now.
He scratched his ear idlely, it was only a matter of time before someone would question his absence so he may as well make it as if he was performing real duties; "So erm...Anythin' t'report?" He inquired casually.

Maken thought for a bit. Then frowned. "No. A slight noice below that window over there," Maken pointed to an arrow slit across from them, "but nothing further. Now that there is nothing for me to do, I shall resume my nap." He streatched back ou on the rock, squirmed about a bit, and tried to go back to sleep. But, somehow, he couldn't resume that blissful unawarenless that he had before the conversation with Breeze.

Breeze nodded and smiled again as he took a seat beside Maken, despite the fact that the Mountain was on high alert and in the middle of a war; a somewhat laid back atmosphere had been established, it was as if the residents didn't even care anymore about being attacked. "Always good t'get a bit o' shut-eye eh?" Breeze grinned and yawned, come to think of it he hadn't been getting much rest either; not enough sentry duty these days.

"Nothin' better to do, old chap. A nap is good if your bored and have,"He yawned broadly, "nothing better to do. A nap is refreshing. And sometimes, you discover solutions to problems you might have." He stopped and stared at the wide rocky celing above him. Why couldn't he sleep? He was tired and he loved naps. He only ever had one time where he..."Look out!" Maken sprang up and pushed Breeze out of the way. A loud clang sounded, and where Breeze's head was, was a wicked arrow." Maken picked up his spear and faced the window where the arrow came. He creeped closer, keeping out of the line of sight of the archer, and peeked an eye around. He didn't see anything. (Sorry if I godmoded. I didn't see any other way to write that and get the same thing.)

((Meh no worries.)) Breeze shook his head briskly in disbelief and to snap his senses back into a more alert state, though his expression and general demeanor remained pretty much the same his mind was spinning wildly, making up tactics as he went along to adapt to the new found danger. "Wot in blazes.." He muttered and moved out of the firing line and got closer to the window, "Just 'ho was that?"

"I don't know. Some vermin chap. Otherwise, he wouldn't have shot. He would have just knocked on the bally door like a good chap." Maken held his spear at his side, his paw close to the blade of one end. The other blade was next to, and slightly behind his head. He looked back and forth, and spotted a speck moving with speed at the window. He moved his head back just in time. Another arrow hit the wall and almost stuck to it. "Jeeze. That chappie must have supernatural sight and muscles. That bloomin' arrow almost went through the flippin' wall. Just who is this guy?"

Breeze scratched his head, in the past on gate-duty it had become almost customary for him to throw a javelin before he even caught a glimpse at who ever was knocking at the gates; it was war-time after all. And perhaps this beast was just returning the favor, funny, he couldn't remember anyone whom he had actually hit, so that theory was dismissed.
Breeze raised an eyebrow, he hadn't known a beast that could do any damage to the walls in many seasons with conventional weapons, "Well, from wot y'can see, tis' not enough t'raise th' alarm over.." He scratched his chin in thought and felt his sabre reassuringly, "Any good with th' bow ol'boy?" He inquired suddenly.

Maken frowned. "Nothin' to boast over. I have practiced a few times with an old, beat up yew that I found in the armory one day, but my skill is nothing. I'm sorry to say that I couldn't aim to save my life." He blinked as another arrow blurred through the window and into the wall. "Which seems to be the case with this chappie. 'E don't care about his arrows, do he?" Maken added as yet another arrow found home next to the previous three. He looked through the slit, briefly, and could slightly make out a patch of mottled, light color move. "I think I see him, sir. Right by that large dune."

Breeze instinctively scooted into a corner, that wasn't the best of news; Maken wasn't proficient in the use of a bow and Breeze's skill wasn't exactly standard either, it wasn't his job after all. "As well 'e shouldn't...Long as 'e makin' us afraids, it's good enough wot?" He breathed in to calm himself down, he had to think this through a little better..
"Near th' dunes y'say? Let's go get th' bally blighter!" His fist met his palm in true resolve, didn't matter if he noticed they were gone or not no matter how good an archer is, their bow is near useless in melee. And with that Breeze rushed towards the gate's without waiting for a reply from Maken.

Maken had no choice but to follow. Breeze was his superior officer. He dashed down the hallway to the gates, then stopped. Something was wrong. He listened hard. The arrows thuddig into rock would be loud enough to reach him, but they had stopped. "Oh no! Breeze!" He had a hard time trying to catch up with the swift hare. "I think he knows that we're moving!"

"Bah! Pish 'n' tush! No one can catch ol'- argh!" Breeze had been hit in the shoulder by an arrow as he had made it out the gate's and into the open. He pulled the wooden missile out without hesitation, this wasn't the first time he had been hit and it sure wasn't going to be the last by the way things were going. "Now m'jolly blighter..Where are y'hidin'.." He muttered as he dived for the safety of a nearby sand-dune.

Serenji sighted down another one of his needle-tip arrows. He had almost gotten that officer. He must not've been in good form today. He waited for any fur to pop up, either from the dune or the gate. His orders were to kill an officer, but his employer wouldn't begrudge him another kill. The sniper let loose the arrow, and it buried it's head deep in the wood of the gate. He pulled out another arrow.
