"I knew we were makin' a name for ourselves, but Phessy the terror of the river Moss? You have not had much experience with terrors eh?" Tori asked answering the qustion and replying to the comment at the same time. Even though the offer was mildly appealing there was no way in hell she would ever think of that! Never would she abandon her brother, like the 'good' beasts of Mossflower abandoned them to the hands of a slaver. "Was that a threat ? I really hope it 'wasn't." The short otter replied drawing herself to her full unimpressive height. Both of her black eyes shined, as she tightened her grip on her dagger. Then the hubbub stated, by the tails she knew the beasts for what they were.
Putting two and two together she realized that this had to be part of Skipper's crew come to collect their reward. "Phessy! To hellsgates with you otters!" About to dive forward into the fray a quiet voice from the bush behind her rocked her rage. This was a unwanted diversion, herb rother needed her help, and this fool, no doubt with a arrow aimed at her back.
"Coward' use arrows." It was obvious she wasn't about to heed his warning. While she needed to help her brother, she needed to get rid of this nuisance first. So far all she knew was his relative location behind her, of course she did have a couple of shields available.

Toriphess quickly wondered on whether or not to use his dagger, but decided against it. He would need both paws to wield his scythe effectively. He grinned as he twirled it. "Skipper wants you alive, rogue, so come quietly and you won't catch any grief." Toriphess laughed."Then i have an advantage. While you must capture me, I don't have any qualms about sending you to the dark forest." He decided on no more talk and lunged at the one who talked first. THe scythe wove an elaborate pattern as he fended off the lances of the otters. There were five otters against him, and they had surrounded him, much like when he surrounded this campsite earlier. He was very hard put out to defend himself, but he did a really good job.

The weasels bow never moved as he kept his sights on the otters back. "And cowards surprise attack helpless woodlanders and take everything from them." He said simply as he kept the distance from the otter and himself. "Drop your dagger and turn around slowly." He knew that she would kill him if she got half a chance, and he wouldn't give it to her.
Unfortunately the weasel had underestimated the corsairs brains as the ones he had mislead earlier had followed him. They grinned as they walked out from the tree shade and stood around the weasel, whose smile quickly disappeared as they all drew their weapons. "Its ok Tori, we got him, what should we do with him?" A rat asked as the weasel was disarmed by some of the other corsairs....

Hearing the clank of blades against oen another Tori knew her brother still had plenty of fight in him. Besides he had a whole crew of pirates still, whats the worst that could happen? Deciding to take the weasel's advice she turned towards him only to pause when she heard a much more familiar voice. Of course t wasn't the one she had been hoping to hear say it would be fine, but it was a close second.
Standing to the left of Hawkeye was the small dirty rat from earlier, who happened to be one of Tori's old messmates. Without waiting for a order he drew his dagger and debated on stabbing the beast now. "Threate' our Tor' would ya?" He slurred.
Tori on the other hand walked into the clearing. "Frogeye, Hoptin, go back to the ship and get a coil of rope will you. We'll let him struggle his own way free." she didn't liek the only option of holding the beast captive, he hadn't doen anything but observe a sitauation and pick sides. 'No weasel cowards are the oone who tand by and watch a slaver go by." With a growl she let loose a glob of spit, watching it roll down a nearby tree leaf. Both of her blakck eyes narrowed as she turned back towards the river, she oculdn't help her brother until she was sure no attacks were coming from behind.
"Now sir, I do wish to know why yo' starte' bothering us." This wasn;'t a question it was a demanded question, one she wanted the answer to then and now.

Toriphess caught sight of a weasel and her sister before a particular burly otter forced him to confront his blindspot. He trapped two lances in the crook of his scythe, and delivered a simple twist of the wrist. The lances were wrenched out of the otters' paws and flew into the moss, where they quickly dissapeared from sight. He did a whirlwind attack to try and disable the others, but the chink of metal against metal proved that his strategy didn't work. A dagger flew from some obscure area, and Toriphess barely got his arm-shield up in time to defend it, but it gave him an idea. He turned towords the burly otter from before, and swung the scythe at his head, as he hoped, said otter ducked. Toriphess grinned as he rotated his forarm and smacked the otter with the shield. He went down, hard. The absence of one otter enabled Toriphess to execute a roll in the gap, and find an advantage of his own. He emerged from the roll with his back to the tree, and pulled a whistle from his pouch. When he sounded it, most of his crew rushed to his side. He grinned as the odds turned in his favor. "Now we're even."

The weasel didn't look worried as the crew beasts ran off to get rope. He was actually surprised that he was still alive. But his small ray of good mood disappeared as his paws where bound behind his back. Looking up at the otter that he had been threatening at her smile. He was surprised how fast the tables had been turned. "I was just trying to protect the Hedgehogs. I guess I underestimated your crew." He said simply as he locked eyes with the otter, his own bright blue boring into her black eyes. The weasel was a young beast, but the fire in his eyes told the otter that he was a fighter, but as of now he was at her mercy....

Toriphess left his crewbeasts and went to go next to his sister's side. He crossed his arms over his chest and glared at the weasel being tied up on a tree. Toriphess raised an eyebrow as he watched the staring contest between the two. "What do you have here, little sister?" He reached behind him, and caught a package that was thrown at him. He threw it down at Tori's feet and returned his scythe to the sleeve behind his back.

"Oh, someone who thought he'd b' mister brave and try and stop me fro' gettin' to you." Tori replied, with a smile much like the one on a shark's jaws as it circled its prey. She too was tempted to walk around Hawkeye, pausing and making signals to crewbeasts with no revelance whatsoever. But, she didn't. SHe felt that merely gazing down at him, her brother beside her was enough to turn anyones blood cold. "Well that's your fault ain't it?" She questioned leaning her face closer to Hawkeye before pulling it back, not wanting to get bit.
"Whats in there my dear brother, something for me??" Tori queried, gently kicking the bag. Waiting to har something clink, or something valuable roll around. Oh wait, it was probably just the charts in the bag, nothing else. Looking at Hawkeye she debated cutting him loose right now, and taking his pretty bow for compensation, speaking of which where was the bow?

"How foolish. Why ever did this beastie beleive he could stop you? What do you plan on doing with him?" The silver otter grinned broadly, showing his white teeth, before reterning to his normal stoic gaze on the weasel. He glared at Hawkeye before turning his head so he could spot the scuffle between his crew and the otters. He could hardly see anything, the otters were outside of a broad line of his own crew. They were struggling desperately to get beyond the line of vermin. "Simple maps and charts for you. I do believe you have an interest in that sort of thing." He replied. He returned his gaze, and found an arrow pointed at his right eye.

"I like that face Brother Phessy." Tori replied with a cheeky grin lowering the discarded bow back down to the ground. Her brother deserved the little scare. The crew had the otters taken care of. For the most part, although she did have to emit the sounds of battle not that far off caused her to flinch, se imagined every strike being against one of her crew. Allowing her earring to jingl, she shifted her wet body, and placed her arms behidn her head. Back to business.
"Let him go of course, I like the courage. To much troub.le to keep around, and kill someone in cold blood who doesn't deserve it yet? Ptah." She would let him weasel(hehe) his way out of the bonds. No doubt her crew didn't know a proper loop from a bow tie.

Toriphess raised an eyebrow. "Not funny." was all he said. He twitched his head behind him, and his crew yelled and jumped aboard the ship with all the loot. All of Skipper's otters would be having a bad headache, but they wouldnt' die. He sighed and jumped into the water and did a little trick he had been practicing. He gained momentum underwater, and came up to the surface fast. He emerged from the water with his tail barely clearing the surface. He quickly climbed the rope and onto the deck. He leaned against the railing, and waited.

The weasels gaze never left the otter as she picked up his bow. He never moved as the otters spoke. Just kept his eyes on the otter with the bow. Even ater the corsairs left he kept his gaze locked on her. "Give me back my bow." He said, not sounding angrey or like an order, just spoke it simply, his eyes still locked on her....

"SO you can shoot me in the back the second I leave? Do I look blinkin' idiotic?" Besides the way he was bound he could wiggle his way over to the weapon, although it might be deadly leaving a vermin creature tied up with a band of greedy roving otters, and even greedier crosairs wandering about. Not to mention the creatures of the camp wold see a vermin, and think one thing.Vengeance. Well she couldn't do that either. With a sigh, and a sign to hold up to her brother she kicked the bow closer to Hawkeye.
With a false cheery farewell she bent to pick up the charts. Slinging the waterproof canavas over her shoulder, and placing her dagger back in her 'shirt' hem. With a running start she let her small ody smack straight down into the middle of the river, reaching out and grabbing the rope ladder. Five more seconds and she was le aning, dripping against the rail. Her black eyes staring hooded at Hawkeye, daring him to do something. Turning back to the loitering crew her voice cut a sharp arc through the air. "Quit gawkin' you flabber headed beasts. Lets cast off!" A few of them milled around confused, wonderign whether to take that command from their land cap'n otter.

Toriphess barked out his orders. "Well what are you waiting for, the decomposition of the ship. Get Moving!" The crew were no longer hanging about waiting for orders. Instead, they were rushing about trying to get the river corsair ship moving. It slowly crawled foreward in the water as the crew scuttled about the deck getting everything in order. Toriphess pointed to a rat, and then to the helm. He then went into his quarters and sat down at the desk, examining everything they plundered.

Hawk finally looked away from the otter as she kicked his bow close to her. Looking back up he could now see her on the ship, looking at him. Shifting in the ropes he was able to bring his arms together and reached up his robes sleeve and gripped the handle of his small knife. Pulling it free he was quickly sawing away at his bonds. He finally smiled as the ropes fell from around him. Walking forward he picked up his bow and walked out to the bank. He intently watched the ship as it slowly sailed away.....
