Permission for a Badger and Bloodwrath granted by Prank!
Name: (Field Marshal)Rewhane Rommel Pier. Or Grute Pier (Big Pier)
Gender: M
Age: 35 years old
Species:Eurasian Badger
Occupation: Leader of the MossGuard Guerilla Forces
Physical Appearance: Rewhane is very tall and is quite muscular giving him a commanding appearance over any beast. Covering his paws are numerous scars of battle and a patch of white fur on his right. Most of his fur looks as though it has been burned and covered in charcoal and is very dark. He wears a large Ghillie suit matched to the vegetation of Mossflower when he is on patrol in the woodlands. For regular use he wears a dark green jerkin, tan belt, and a dark green and red kilt. During battle he wears a beautifully crafted suit of armor made from steel alloy and spider webbed with amazing white and regular gold in formations such as leaves that contrast deeply with the dark black color of the metal. On top of his helmet a badger warrior swings a longsword at an invisible foe in a battle frozen in pure silver.
Possessions
Massive Zweihander with a leather covered ricasso, blade flukes, and a green emerald set into its massive pommel and a handle covered in rough brown leather.
Equally large Lochaber Axe its blade burned black
Large blow pipe suitable to ranges of fifty to one hundred feet and sometimes more depending on conditions. Also attached to it is a short box about five inches long full of darts.
A large metal bound tome with a massive lock on it to prevent its opening. Emblazoned on the front in gold leaf are the words
B ttle tact cs of the Rom el Family
With names set in gold across its cover. Presumably former owners.
Set of armor with intricate white and regular gold leaf designs snaking across most of the black metal.
Personality:Rewhane is very commanding and despises insubordination among troops. (Once he even grabbed a hold of a vermin leader and ordered that battle to begin again with the spear rats holding their spears right) He is a slight recluse and is incredibly bullheaded. If there’s a possible chance of getting it done his way? You’re going to do it his way or no way. A master tactician, he is ever vigilant and thinking of new battle strategies constantly. He cares deeply about his soldiers and about the freedom of Mossflower. He is a warrior and keeps the warrior code and chivalry close to his heart. He is scared of heights due to incidents in the past and has a fond affection for little ones. Rewhane also has a voice that can cause glass to break at close ranges (or so it seems) his voice will often carry through Brockhall full of laughter.
Strengths:
Masterfully good with the Zweihander and other similar weapons
Master shot with a blow pipe
Good Blacksmith
Master of camouflage and although he is quite big he can to a fairly good job of hiding
Great with the use of a Lochaber ax or similar weapons
Masterful tactician and planner thinks everything through into the long hours of the night until perfection.
He’s a Badger and has the strength and Bloodwrath to come with it.
Weaknesses:
Has a fear of large heights due to his past (tree; okay, abbey wall: hyperventilation)
Chivalry: He is incredibly courteous and will not bow from absolute chivalry except under the direst situations.
He has a severe mistrust vermin especially rats (if you call him stripedog… Prepare to die)
Dibbuns: He love little ones
He can’t be quiet except when hiding (can scare some beasts off)
Cannot shoot a bow
He doesn’t drink much but occasionally a bit (Read as: a lot) of alcohol will disappear on his account.
He is quite large and has a difficult time handling small things and is quite prone to breaking them.
History:
Rewhane Rommel Pier was born in the Northern pine forests of the mountains to Ertha and Trewean Pier. His mother died shortly after his birth. His family had a deep and warring history and Rewhane was named after his great great grandfather who, to the south in the desert, waged war like none before him using tactics and ingenuity unheard of, such as ballista carriers covered to look like carts. Rommel’s family had inherited his ability, each generation learning the secrets of the last, becoming more and more skilled. One day as fifteen year old Rewhane was training with his Zweihander and blow pipe, a band of vermin came into the training hollow. Trained to alert his father at seeing vermin he began to shout only to be shot in the arm by an arrow from the vermin. Angered he could feel warrior blood rising in his veins. Swinging the Zweihander he killed three of the five vermin with one blow. He roared “EULALIA!” and charged the remaining two slashing one in the leg and punching the other over. As they scrambled away he threw his sword into the soft ground and readied the blow pipe. Two quick puffs silenced the ververmin. Rewhane began to walk away but then he heard crashing in the brush. It was twenty rats who after hearing the conflict came to the vermins’ aid. Rewhane quickly picked up his sword and readied himself, but there was no need. His father crashed through the brush and swiped the front rank with his Zweihander and went to stand with his son. The vermin advanced on the badgers backing them up to a large cliff. Rewhane saw this and tried to stop his father. His father not knowing the cliff was there fell off but caught himself. Rewhane grabbed his father’s paw as the vermin closed in, but his father saw this and loosened his grip
“Remember me… Remember Rommel… EULALIA!”
With that his father let go and fell down the cliff. Rewhane turned on the vermin and picked up his father’s Zweihander much bigger than his own. He swung it and slashed at the vermin grabbing the ricasso and stabbing, slashing and punching his way through. It was as though he was blind to wounds. As he finished the battle he came out of it and noticed the dead rats. For many days he mourned his father. He found a route down the cliff and entombed his father in a cave. He went to their home and took his father’s armor and some belongings and set fire to his home. He walked away from his home and toward Mossflower.
After some time spent traveling he reached Mossflower. Upon hearing tales of the vermin who attacked he began to organize a defense force against all vermin who harmed the citizens of Mossflower or Redwall. Wandering through the woods looking to recruit one day he heard loud shouts coming from a clearing. Stopping to investigate he found ten rats torturing a family of voles. Rewhane drew his Lochaber axe and charged into the group. He swung and killed three of the rats in one blow. Seeing the others escaping he threw the Pole arm straight through one, the other one was to far off, but Rewhane took his blow pipe out and fired a dart (that looked more like an arrow) straight into the rat. The vole family was gratefull and spread the word as smaller skirmishes broke out across Mossflower from creatures inspired by the badger. They cleared most of Mossflower from vermin after a large battle. As woodlanders heard about the Guard they began to flock to the it with promises of serving. Rewhane located the site of Brockhall by using a Rommel family map and established head quarters there. He ordered moles to dig military tunnels to spider web across Mossflower from Brockhall to the four cardinal directions and from there to unlikely places like hollow trees, sniper blinds, even into the ruins of old Kotir under Redwall. Some exits even came out under water! He finished this and began drilling his soldiers into a fighting force using a book from his Great great grandfather. He established the MossGuard to serve and protect Mossflower to the death, and that’s what he plans on doing.
Relationships:
Father (dead)
Mother (dead)
Woodlanders (various)
