Jamie still kept looking quizzically at Roseleaf for a moment, sending a brief glance to the captain. No matter, Roseleaf was probably just trying to make him feel better. Was that sweet of her or completely pathetic of him?
“Tell ye wot. I’ll let ye gain a little back, why don’t t’shoot us wot ye can do with a blade?”
He looked excited at the idea of being able to show off his swordfighting abilities a bit, but then he shook his head as he remembered his other prior commitments. "I'd love to, m'gel. Mayhap another time? I've actually a few one-on-one lessons this afternoon with some o' my recruits. I have to get goin' now."
Jamie made to leave, but then he hesitated and turned back a moment. Earlier, when he'd stuck around the infirmary with Roseleaf, he'd meant it to just be a small flirtation, something he did fairly often. But the haremaid had not taken to him as quickly as he was accustomed to. It was an interesting change of pace. And she was interesting.
Hoping Aidan would not later have his head for this, Jamie turned back to Roseleaf with a small smile. "Roseleaf, it was nice t'meet you and spend some time with you this afternoon." He paused, turning over the next part in his head before he continued. "I'd like t'see more of you. Suppose we could make this a more regular meeting?"

Roseleaf herself was having some doubts about her behavior. She certainly wasn't acting like she was accustomed to; after cheerily trouncing him (that had been fun—and normal) she almost felt like she had fawned over him to make him feel better. Was she? She'd hate to think so. She scrutinized him closely, not totally unaware of Aidan's discreet eye.
Aidan chatted politely with the youngest Varilde lad, noticing how his face fell a little at Aidan's admission he had little information on his family. He watched his sister over Nico's shoulder. While he had no problem with other hares flirting with her—she could take care of herself—it was still in his protective nature to watch over her.

Roseleaf considered this, then crossed her arms and gave him a mock-glare. “Are ye gonna send more miscreants to annoy me?”
Aidan raised his voice slightly. “Don't listen t'her, Jamie, she enjoys torturing recruits an' trainees.”
Roseleaf winced, then smiled. "It would be interestin', sah. I don't see why not."
