After Silenis heard Ambrr agree to guide them (which she thought would never happen with all the arguing that was going on) she smiled and thanked the Squirrelqueen. It did not greatly amaze Silenis to find out from Ambrr's companions that she was indeed the queen. Ambrr tended to hold an air of authority that Silenis supposed was only natural in a beast of such rank.
"Thank you m'lady." Said Silenis with a slight nod of her head. "And I must thank you to Dan'. You seem to be quite a knowledgeable little prince after all."
"Please accept my apologies your majesty, I was unaware of your royalty. I shall from now on address you by your proper title, and I would appreciate if you would refrain from referring to me as a vermin.[...]As for your offer of a guide, I accept."
Silenis smiled. Everything seem to be sorted out now. As long as no more hostility appeared between the marten and the squirrels...
"I assume that we will embark now Lady Ambrr?" Questioned Silenis. "Unless there is something you have to do here before you leave, of course."

“I’m Quirel and this is May, Treesage, Oake and Acorne.”
Renaud nodded in greeting as the gruff squirrel introduced the little guard. In response in introduced himself and his friends in a like wise manor. "Ah be Renaud Wildroar, dis be Danju Tobias Wildlough, an' Silenis Wildlough."
“O-ooh noo…[...] ’e just ’ad t’say it, didn’t ‘e?”
“’ow dare ye suggest I lie, vermin--”
“Squirrelqueen Ambrr doesn’t lie, vermin!”
Renny became abit startled as the squirrels suddenly became very offensive about the comment the pine martin made. Farrel had not known about the Squirrelqueen territory, fine enough if he had never traveled his way before, but Ambrr was very angry. Renny watched as she muttered darkly to herself about honor and living a long time in Mossflower. Renny himself had known of squirrel tribes that lived in Mossflower country, if not Ambrr's tribe in particular, so maybe he could clear this up. Even if he was still a little shocked about Ambrr not telling them the whole truth, for he almost knew why she would hide something like that from beast she did not know.
"Al' rig't naw. Let al' mateys be a calmin' down. Marm', ye be not lying an' none o' us be a doubtin' dat. Ah've known o' tribal lands o' the squirrels reside in Mossflow'r fur some time naw, ah've ne'er been quite sure o' da bounderies. So naw we know. Ah'm sure Farrel, 'ere did nay mean ta insult ye. If 'e ne'er come down dis way 'afore deen 'e may not 'ave e'er known about yer lands. Please pardon 'im, me lady. "
Renny watched as the squirrel Quierl spoke softly to Ambrr as her tail swung irritably across the ground, but before Renny could try and continue, Danju lept down from the tree....

“Aye, young’un. [...] I will guide ye myself, Silenis Otter, and bring this young one safely to the Western Shore.”
"Thank you m'lady. [...] And I must thank you to Dan'. You seem to be quite a knowledgeable little prince after all."
Danju was slowly ebbing out of his bossy mood. He had taken his paws off his hips and began looking around at everything, his mind off on one of it's bunny trails again, but once Silenis thanked him, he began to blush. He shuffled his rudder in the dirt and fidgeted with his belt. "Awww...Silenis...Ah was just tryin' to help....*teehee*...Thanks."
She bent slightly, motioning Danju in. “’ere young one…” She pulled a braided thong off her tail, from it hung a carved talisman. “Ye are uncommonly wise for yore age. Take this, give it to any squirrel, and I will come to help ye.” She glanced at Farrel. “Keep it safe, ‘tis not to be toyed with.”
Danju walked over to Ambrr and gently accepted the talisman into his paws. Running it through his paws, Danju was captivated by the intricate design and stood there looking it over in awe.
Renny stepped over to Danju. "Danju mate." He said gently. "Did ye ferget to t'ank Miss Ambrr fer comin' wit' us and givin' ye dat dere charm?"
"Huh?" Danju said, snapping out out of his dream like trance. "Oh! Thank ye marm. I'll take good care of it I will!" He then proceeded to take the talisman and do some intricate weaving in his belt, so that when he was finished, the talisman was nested in his belt like it was original designed to sit there as decoration and it could not be removed unless Danju took it off again."There!" Danju stated confidently.
"Yes, if this squirrelmaid could provide me with a guide or one of that sort, I would be happy to travel through her apparently royal land. [...] tell tale of a Green Isle, but I did not know if such a place existed. Pray tell, are you traveling to the western shore, near the badger mountain, to begin your sea bound voyage? If you are, I would be glad to join you for a ways.”
“Pray stop insulting us, marten, or we may just let Acorn at ye. [...]’e’s a little crazy, ye ken. [...] However, if ye are in need of a guide, I will help ye.”
"Please accept my apologies your majesty, I was unaware of your royalty. I shall from now on address you by your proper title, and I would appreciate if you would refrain from referring to me as a vermin.[...]As for your offer of a guide, I accept."
"I assume that we will embark now Lady Ambrr? [...] Unless there is something you have to do here before you leave, of course."
Renaud sighed gently to himself as he re-shouldered his pack. Thankfully this encounter had not resulted in bloodshed like some of his others had. Hopefully they would get moving soon, for Renny wanted to get Danju home as soon as possible. Even if Renny's injuries itched at him to take it easy. Renny just had this feeling that this trip wasn't going to be as easy as it seemed and he didn't want any beast hurt more than they already were. Or it was the fact he was really hungry from having a light breakfast. One of the two....

[...] “’ere young one…” [...] “Ye are uncommonly wise for yore age. Take this, give it to any squirrel, and I will come to help ye.” [...] “Keep it safe, ‘tis not to be toyed with.”
Onyxwing had been waiting for hours in the tree and he licked his lips setting up his shot.
'watch them first and find the one they call Danju then kill him!' those were the stoat Warlord's words and for a handsome sum Onyxwing was ready to be working.
"Danju mate." [...] "Did ye ferget to t'ank Miss Ambrr fer comin' wit' us and givin' ye dat dere charm?"
"Huh?" [...]"Oh! Thank ye marm. I'll take good care of it I will!"[...] There!"
Onyxwing selected a shaft. so the one with the talisman is my target

Onyxwing found a good shaft with a large barbed tip made to cause as much damage as possible. As Onyxwing drew the bow back he spotted it. A small crack in the arrow! he tried to stop it but to late. The arrow shot off in two pieces at Danju. no longer lethal.
Onyxwing came out of the dense foliage and onto a bare branch ready to fly off but he stopped and watched the arrow.leaving himself in view.

Farrel's tense muscles had just tensed down. For good reason also, the hostile squirrels were appearing to relax, if only a bit. It seemed, he had decided to put down his guard at the wrong time. For it was at that moment, there was the familiar sound of a bow sting twanging followed by the site of a broken shaft sail harmlessly through the air. Guard down or not, Farrel reacted appropriatly.
The previously sheathed sword appeared in his hands in a flash of light as if it were liquid metal. With no hesitiation he flung himself at the direction of the shaft, using all his natural tree-skills to clamber up. He spotted the assailant, a flying squirrel with a composite bow in its hands. Moving like a quicksilver, Farrel bared his teeth, swung the blade and let loose a war cry seemingly all at once.
"Faaayloooooor!" With this announcment of battle, he swung the keen blade at the shooters mid section.

Onyxwing saw the squirrel swinging and drew the Kukri's at his side. With their hook appearance and the addition of climbing hooks on the back side they were short but could take a paw with ease. He turned them around so the blades were at his wrists faceing out. He chopped at the sword and the solid knives made two good chops into the steel of the sword. He seized this chance and promptly grabed his bow and jumped out of the tree flying one hundred tail lengths to a large oak tree where he paused to look at the squirrel. With a salute of the Kukri's he sheathed them and flew across a large clearing and away from the group. I'm done he thought this isnt worth dieing for!
his thoughts turned maybe i should help them they sound nice enough.
What were they talking about? A Green Isle or something like that. Father used to talk about hero otters from there. Didnt he? maybe those creatures arent so bad.

((Um, Farrels a Pine Marten, not a squirrel))
The twin kukri's blocked his initial blow like lightning. As he prepared another, swifter attack, the creature spread it's flaps of skin and glided several tree tops away. Now completely determiend to take down the attacker. Farrel pursued, swinging through the trees via years of training. Unforunately, a dead tree branch snapped and he fell to the ground with a loud curse.
"Shvall it!"
Another one had followed the archer squirrel however. The marten assassin, Tarlish Senha the Hunter had been watching the scene with interest, almost invisible in a thick mesh of tree branches, his oil-dyed fur blending in perfectly. He had watched the hunter flee, then glide across an open space and come to rest on the other side. Tarlish decided that, as there was a lack of vermin to hunt, he would pursue this one intead.
And so it was that Tarlish clambered through the tree's silently, around the ing with remarkable speed. He got around to roughly where his quarry rested, and he drew one of his throwing knives. He sighted the prey, and closed the difference more. He was starting to breathe a bit heavily by now, but he steadied his aim, assuring that one flick of his paw would result in a length of steel stuck in the squirrels throat. Moving a tad closer, he took aim again, and threw the knife. Like a botl of liquid steel, it clsoed the distance, intent on slaying the fly squirrel.

(((sorry about that farrel)))
Onyxwing heard the throwing knife hissing through the air and he jumped off the tree flying down to a lower pine tree as the knife cut the edge of his ear. Then he hid behind the pine tree's large trunk he reached into his pocket and took a small sack out of his posibles bag and threw it into the tree where the knife thrower was standing. The small sack made a jingle as it hit the trunk.
"Take the money and we'll join up!" Onyxwing shouted across the distance."We're both assassins and we can't go killing each other!"

"Please accept my apologies your majesty, I was unaware of your royalty. I shall from now on address you by your proper title, and I would appreciate if you would refrain from refering to me as a vermin." Then turning to the one called May, he said. "As for your offer of a guide, I accept."
Ambrr nodded curtly. “Fine then.” She made a motion with her tail, three of the scouts disappeared. She turned to May, who was standing by Farrel now. “May, travel well, come back to us.” May adjusted the short bow she wore on her back and nodded. “Coming, Farrel Marten?” Two of the three scouts returned, dropping a pair of rucksacks from the trees. Ambrr and May caught them, thanking the squirrels before they left to continue patrol.
"I assume that we will embark now Lady Ambrr?" Questioned Silenis. "Unless there is something you have to do here before you leave, of course."
“Quirrel will watch my squirrels while I am gone.” The rusty hued squirrel pulled off her quiver and bow, shrugging on the rucksack before re-attaching the quiver at her waist. She pointed west with her tail. “Lead off.”
"Oh! Thank ye marm. I'll take good care of it I will!"
“Good.” She grinned, ruffling his headfur. Suddenly a bow twanged, instinctively Ambrr thrust Danju behind her, she turned to find the archer, only to have a useless shaft hit her chest fur. She snatched the pieces up before they fell, inspecting them. Broken, the force of the bow must have snapped it. She flung the pieces down, grabbing Danju by the paw. Her first instinct, to take to the trees, was nixed when she realized that was where the shot had come from.
“Come on,” She growled to Silenis and Renny. “Lets go.” She took off into the bush, west, away from the combat.

Silenis nodded quickly. It was high time they got out of there. Things were hard enough without being in the middle of a group of quarreling mercenaries. Danju wasn't safe here. At least he'd always have Ambrr, Renny, and Silenis to help protect him.
Silenis followed Ambrr into the west. Finally they were going to get somewhere. Silenis wondered what it would be like to visit her homeland after so many years away. She felt almost as anxious as Danju.

((Ooc: OK everybody. Most of us have chatted and decided on a plan of action. Elizabeth, Ambrr, and I are pull out our characters from the thread and moving them to another one to keep the plot moving. Farrel, Onyxwing, if you guys want to continue you duke it out between your characters, that is fine with us. Forward the Plot! )) “Fine then. [...] May, travel well, come back to us.”[...] [...]“Coming, Farrel Marten?” [...] “Quirrel will watch my squirrels while I am gone.” The rusty hued squirrel pulled off her quiver and bow, shrugging on the rucksack before re-attaching the quiver at her waist. She pointed west with her tail. "Lead off.”Renny nodded and was about to walk off when the fur on the back of his neck stood up and he jerked around suddenly looking back towards Danju and Ambrr who were still talking. “Good.” She grinned, ruffling his headfur.Danju giggled childishly as Ambrr rubbed his headfur. He was really glad she was so nice to them. But what he didn't understand was when she all of a sudden thrust him behind her. Her thrust was so powerful and sudden that Danju fell smack dab on his bottom. Spinning around to see why she did that, Danju watched in horror as a shaft came out from the trees and hit Ambrr in the chest. Thankfully the shaft broke and did not harm her, but as she caught the broken shaft Danju looked up and saw a very funny looking squirrel with a bow up in the tree. Why did he do that? He thought to himself, with not a thought of the fact the arrow was originally aimed at him. Once the arrow was fired, Renny instinctively pulled out his Katana, but he knew it wouldn't do much being a short range weapon verses a long range one. But it seemed apparent the pine martin had the same idea. "Faaayloooooor!"The pine martin charged the flying squirrel and an epic battle ensued. Renny wasn't sure if he should pop in or not. If he did, he would be leaving Danju and Silenis alone, but if he didn't the threat on Danju would still exist. As Renny's mind swirled with the choice, Ambrr made the decision. Danju was jerked up again as Ambrr grabbed his paw and stumbled along with his big paws to catch up with her quick pace. “Come on,” She growled to Silenis and Renny. "Lets go.” She took off into the bush, west, away from the combat.Silenis nodded and followed quickly as Renny brought up the rear, his Katana still out. By now the battle had turned into three beasts and Renny really didn't want to find out how it would end. All he really wanted to know is that Danju is home safe, where ever that home is..

"Take the money and we'll join up!. We're both assassins and we can't go killing each other!"
For the first time in several years, a flicker of a smile tugged at the edges of Tarlish's mouth, distrupting his normally blank, non-caring features. He saw and deftly dodged the incoming sack of either money or some other form of payment, and then looked back at his quarry. With a shake of his head, he spoke in his blank, dull voice.
"Nay murderer, we are nothing alike. Now draw your blades and defend thyself, otherwise I shall cut ye down where thou stand." Then moving like a piece of greased lightning, he drew the dull, forest colored blade and bolted at his target like an adder after its prey. at this point, to his annoyance, he realzied his quarry was gone. Upon further investigation, the target was racng off after the previous target, the squirrels and otters. Thinking the flying squirrel msut be bent on its assassination, Tarlish fired off after it, using all of his impressive tree-climbing abilities and speed.
Farrel had gotten up from his fall and turned around just in tiem to observe the sudden departure of his promised Squirrel who would guide him through this leafy domain. He leapt up, sheathing his blade as he took off at an admirable speed to catch up with his escort. He closed the distance soon enough and slowed down to a much more reasonable pace once he got himself with the squirrel guides.
