General--Possessions:
A quick glance reveals nothing extraordinary about Rezz; he appears to be just like any other of his feathered brethren. However, upon close inspection it is revealed that he is actually a rather under-sized. Rezz's eyes are a milky blue, lacking sparkle and liveliness, and most beasts find themselves at least a little uneasy looking him in the eye. It is whispered that staring too long will cause a beast to lose his mind, although Rezz neither denies nor accepts this claim as true. His smokey feathers are kept meticulously groomed at all times and because of his ability to be able to keep perfectly still (unlike most of his kind) he is fully capable of blending in with his surroundings. His only accessory is a blackened adder fang that he wears on a cord around his neck.
Because of his light built and his nature as a spy, Rezz carries nothing with him.Personality:
Where other crows are noisy and jerky, Rezz is silent and clear in his actions and thoughts. Meticulous and patient, he is willing to watch and wait for exactly the right moment to strike. He is just as arrogant as any of his kind however and views all other creatures with distaste and disdain, but is just less vocal about it.Strengths:
Rezz is excellent at going about unseen and unnoticed at night, blending into shadows and flying noiselessly and is a master of silent ambushes. He is also crafty and intelligent, able to get himself out of a potential sticky situation through bluffing to cajoling.Weaknesses:
Rezz has NO feelings for anybeast other than himself. He is completely self-serving and looks down his beak at other creatures, which makes it hard if not impossible to get along with him. He is also a coward. If faced with a fair fight he will very likely flee, abandoning any "companions." This cowardly streak does make sense, though, as he is so small and frail that if he were to suffer a blow he would likely be slain. Immensely paranoid, he immediately mistrusts anybeast he meets and woe to anybeast caught following him! This is not the crow for pleasantries, and anybeast trying to make idle conversation will receive only a withering stare in response.History/Background:
As a fledgling, Rezz would have been more than happy to be left alone, but his brothers and sisters had no end of fun mocking and bullying the undersized crow. This caused him to hide his feelings and develop a coldness and hatred for other creatures. But he kept his head down, knowing that his time would come.Relationships:Rezz had less than good relations with his family, as was said earlier. He has worked with several creatures, the first being Ushna Var and the Juskavar, however he has no true feelings for anybeast other than himself.
When he was old enough to leave he did so with alacrity and lived alone in the woodlands where HE had great fun in searching out his brothers and sisters and doing each and every one of them in, whether it was luring one into an adder's nest or simply waiting until dark and throttling them with twine. After all, the world was a much better place without such vile creatures in it.
Despite his cunning and stealth, one creature, a certain Juska chieftain, had been watching Rezz at work and was so impressed that he offered the young crow a position as an spy and assassin in his band. Rezz, who rather preferred being by himself, sullenly agreed and thus started his deadly career. Most of the creatures were intimidated by the small crow and his dead eyes but not wanting to admit it, laughingly called him "Ol' Sorrow." This was to remain his nickname.
However, the crow viewed the Juskabeasts with disdain; their reliance on group tactics was a weakness and their stupidity and dull cruelty wore on him until one day he just left, disappeared into the mist without a trace.
From then on, he flies where he likes, offering his deadly services to any chieftain or warlord "worthy" enough to receive them. He is not interested in material needs, and the only payment he requires is fresh meat and blood. Many creatures dislike his attitude and gristly habits, but choose to hire him only because of his sheer competence and skill, so Rezz has had no loss of opportunities.
