Physical Appearance:
Kitra is rather lanky for an otter, lacking the sinew that is one of the more recognizable features for her species. This leaves her tall and thin, but adds to her speed. Her eyes are almost the color of a hardened chestnut ringed with a darker shade on the outside. This gives the effect of looking right through you. Her fur is thick and silky, the color a dark reddish-brown with undertones of rich chocolate.
Her facial structure matches her lanky figure, with high cheek bones and a thin face, giving her the look of almost not being a river otter. She also sports a long scar reaching from her temple to her cheek from when she was a dubbin. The scar is fur less due to scar tissue.
She can be found in a beige tunic belted at her waist with a dark brown sash on which she constantly keeps her pouch of river stones. On top of that she wears a brown over cloak for winter nights. She likes to go bare-paw a lot but also keeps a pair of light sandals in case she needs them.
Possessions
Kitra carries very little more than the light slingshot for which she is known and usually a handful of rocks kept in a leather pouch by her side. The sling is rather small and was made for her by her father when he was still alive.
While the pouch she wears was given to her father, it once belonged to her mother and has the imprint of an oriental lily on it. She also carries one of the sturdy javelins used by her species.
She has a necklace that she constantly wears that is the only memento of her grandmother. The pendent is a small drop of amber threaded onto a leather thong.
Personality:
Kitra is an amazing friend if she likes you, which can be a lot of people. It takes work to get her to dislike you. The few people that she doesn't like, they know it. She is rather hard working and can often be found helping around in the kitchen or prowling the wall tops on guard duty. However, Kitra is extremely rash, and can also be a tad impatient. This causes a lot of problems with her cooking or planning because, although she means well, she ends up most times going through things to quickly and messing the job up. She is also easily angered and is a stubborn as her father.
She is extremely emotional at times and if she is people tend to avoid her because she is as likely to blow up at you as to be nice. She doesn't mean for it to happen but emotions have always bothered her. She wishes she could be more like her father, who is cool, calm, and always thinking things through.
She loves her father dearly but feels that every time she does something wrong she lets him down. She has an extremely low self confidence even when it comes to her sling, with which she is an amazing shot. When she was younger she was the apple of her fathers' eyes but know he just seems to find every little thing wrong and it upsets her. She keeps the small sling he made her to remind her that she's still his daughter, even if he now feels she is a small, weak runt.
Strengths:
-Kitra has the amazing ability of striking a target dead center from almost thirty meters away. This is where she earned her name Kitra Rockshot.
-She is also a pretty good cook when she wants to be, especially when it comes to Otter's Hotroot Soup. She always adds an extra pinch or two just for Skipper.
-Kitra is quite fast when she tries and doesn't really tire easily. She can almost give a hare a run for their money...almost.
-She loves to sing and is quite good at it when she's in the mood. A lot of times though she doesn't because she's afraid she will just embarrass herself.
Weaknesses:
-Kitra has always been bothered by her self confidence, or rather lack thereof. She often gets angry at herself if she does even the littlest thing wrong. This is cause by the fact that she is always making mistakes due to her impatience.
-She is extremely rash and always rushes into things, which gets her into a lot of trouble.
-She is also pretty clumsy, although she tries not to show it.
History:
Kitra was born and raised in Redwall, even if her parents weren't. When she was little her father would tell her stories of her Holt. He would remind her of the courage of her family even if Holt Raldor wasn't around anymore. He would tell her how fierce they fought even when out numbered by river rats. She soaked up every little detail of her family's history, loving every second of her fathers' stories. She would always ask her father why they escaped and the others didn't. He would simply give her a small, sad smile.
Her mother died during her birth and she has always blamed herself for it. Her father would often tell her that she looked so much like her mother that sometimes it hurt. This would cause her to become sad and angry at herself. 'Why do I look so much like her if it hurts Pa so much.' Was always her mantra.
Once, when she was a dubbin, she decided to try to go fishing in the abbey pond, much to everyones laughter. That laughter soon died as Kitra slipped in the mud on the bank, cracking her head on a rock in the shallows. When she awoke she discovered that the wound would forever leave a pale line of skin down her cheeks.
When Kitra grew out of the dubbin stage she was given a small sling shot that her father had made and she would always carry it with her. She soon found out, to her fathers delight, that she had a natural talent for the weapon. She found that she enjoyed the feeling of the rough leather in her hand and the feel of the stone as it whorled through the air, just a hairs breath from her paw.
As she got older she found that her and her father spent more time arguing than talking. Since then she has moved out of the dorm they shared and now sleeps with others closer to her own age. It seems as though her father expected her to be more complacent, like her mother, instead of hard headed and stubborn like him.
