'Retchen turned around and found himself gazing into the eyes of a clearly Bloodwrathed albino badger with a very large battleaxe. This was REALLY not his day... "Imaparttalunazordepleezdonkillme," he squeaked, despite himself. He took a breath, and collected his thoughts. "I'm just gettin' a better vantage point. If I fired into there, if I missed an' 'it the boss, I'd be killed after the fight, and if I was ter hit the other bloke wot's fightin' 'er, some other archer would single me out an' arrer me. I'm jus'-*Ungh!*" The longbow twanged, and another WARR trooper left for Hellgates. "-tryin' ter get a better view of the proceedin's. I"m doin' better 'ere then tryin' ter-*Mmph!*" Another swordbeast fell, a surprised look on his face and an arrow through his tiny heart. "Teach them self-proclaimed bowbeasts how ter fight. Huh, theys is just scared of gettin' their paws dirty." 'Retchen aimed, fired, and sent a spearbeast screaming to his death.

Talia stopped dead in her tracks as to not run into the white fox and cause them to both fall to the ground. She looked at the blade in his hands and took a step back just as he finished his question. The vixen bit her lip glancing back at the direction she came from then back to the fox in front of her, studying him for a moment, she knew at the back of her mind that she saw him somewhere before, but right now her mind was set on getting away that it couldn't remember. "My name is Talia..." She said looking at the blade once again then back up at Zeffer.

The Merrito Warriors lifted their swords as well pointing them at Talia. Zeffer stared for a moment, his own blades not unsheathed for the moment. He stared with his strange eyes as he signalled to his soldiers to move on ahead. The white fur danced slightly in the wind as he stood at perfect postur. Not a sound escaped him as his silver colored armor was able to reflect Talia's image. "Running quiet fast... why? What happened? Answer quickly... a friend of ours is in the fortress."
The Magus swerved and ducked as things came at him as he faught the Badger Lady. His eyes were wide and filled with a want to kill and destroy. The army continued to try and push threw however, proved to be unable as they slipped in the muddy ground, their heavy armor proving to be a flaw in the slippery mud. "STAND and FIGHT!" commanded the magus to his soldiers that were running. Then his eyes saw what they did. Flames coming from the posts as well as the fortess...

Darkhawk had grown bord of waiting as he killed the small force that was defending the city. It was insultingly small as the Magus had taken the entire WARR army to fight the last of the resistance. The bodies of WARR vermin littered the ground as the buildings burned around him. He slowly smiled as he enjoyed the slight of flames engulfing the city, black smoke going into the rainning sky. The flames were to much out of control to be stopped by the water as he stabbed a pleading warrior that was before him. The red fox laughed as blood dripped from his armor and fur. He slowly moved away as he walked threw the flames, fallen steel and blood that was strun along the path. His pase was calculating as he moved, his blood red eyes looked evil almost as he walked threw the flames of the city back to the council room, where his father and the near last of the Sephron.
"Biti te ne veseo? Uskoro, odreðeni èlan nov niz æe biti potpun. Nama , odreðeni èlan Sefad, æe imati naš pobeda. Ŝto viŝe...to viŝe svet æe izgoreti. Vjeèan odmor æe dogoditi se... I come for you know... to purge those beings that stole our right... My empire shall turn the oceans to read. Blood shall stain the lands, and flames shall chare the earth... Heaven shall fall and I shall be the supreme being of this world. I, VULPUZ, THE DESTROYER, shall make Hellgates into a paradice while this world will corrode away... Now... Come you foolish fiends... Come defenders of the Promise Land... I have given you a chance to come and defeat me... come, so you all may help fill my red ocean..." the red fox continued to walk all the way to the throne, up the black marble steps standing next to the Throne of the Overlord. "Abominations... all life... Abominations..."

'Retchen observed the flames coming from the fortress, and the fleeing WARR troops. The rest were slipping in the mud and getting ruthlessly butchered. Luna and the 'mage' were still evenly matched, or so it seemed. He kept on methodically sniping anyone that came too close. This was going to be too easy.

“…If…If you mean Darkhawk, I wouldn’t go off looking for him, if I were you.” Talia said looking at Merrito leader. “He’s a crazed murderer. He killed Rosethorn and every other beast that was in the room. It’s him that I was running from. I didn’t want to end up dead as well. Kept calling himself Vulpuz…but that could have something to do with what they did to him. I thought they were going to kill us both..” She said then took a step back away from the white fox, not knowing what he’d do.

Zeffer stared for a moment before turning his attention to his warriors that had stopped. "That is why you are not Merrito... Captain..." "Yes, lord." "Warn the Badger Lord of what has transpired... Tell him that the High Command of the Empire is dead... But Vulpuz has taken over...." The Merrito warriors stared at their leader as if what he was saying made no sense. Vulpuz was the leader of Hellgates, the ancient ruler of the Sephron. It made no sense that he could be alive now. The Merrito Leader closed his eyes for a moment. "Yes... The son has done as the prophecy said he would... Go... Tell the Badger Lord." The Merrito warrior did his traditional salute-like motion as Zeffer remained tall. He was no friend of Darkhawk, but he had watched the young warrior grow. He glanced to Talia. "My two guards will escort you to our command centor... Wither we kill you or not is up to my feelings... Most likely you will not die... but as long as you work with us, you will live." hissed the de'facto leader of the Merrito Kingdom. "I will face Vulpuz... Let us go..." The Merrito warriors growled loudly showing their support to their leader as two went to Talia to escort her away. Zeffer continued forward, knowing he would be no match to the warrior holding the name Vulpuz. He could only hope the allies would come before he was killed in combat. *** The Messanger moved fast running toward the battlefield. He wouldn't reach it for at least a few more minutes. "The High command is dead!" he shouted at the top of his lungs so that it may reach the other warriors ears giving them the modivation to keep up the fight.

((I said I'd post by the weekend and looky here, about two days later by my watch
Sarge'll make a come back soon...As will Kenzie =P))
The horde scattered, flames flickered in the distance, despite the weather, vermin and hare alike waded through the swathe of corpses, mud and blood, seldom could a step be taken that wouldn't impose upon a body or stained ground. A breeze billowed and Ashstripe felt the full brunt of it's strength, the slightest chill had cut him to the bone as his massive frame quivered lightly whilst he panted. His would be cloak was tattered beyond use.
Leaning on his weapon for support, he grinned. The horizon was glowing with the flames of their victory, they had done it. They had vanquished the horde, they had distracted them long enough for the Merrito to carry out what needed to be done. His ears twitched with the unexpected message, The High Command is dead!. Truthfully, he really didn't know what that meant but he did know what that would entail - they had won. He...No...They, had avenged all those whom had fallen.
Again the white and red mass quivered, his armour was removed, the only parts remaining being his breastplate and gauntlets. But this time it wasn't from the cold, he was exhausted. The badger had run out of stamina well over an hour ago. Perhaps now was his time? Perhaps he could cheat death only so many times? No, he couldn't think that. He couldn't collapse, not yet anyway.
He limped forward, his mighty weapon serving as a common cane akin to a piece of drift wood, towards the city. His eye caught the duel ensuing between Luna and the Magus, typical, mused the Badger smugly. He paused, typical? that wasn't something he'd say, not to mention he was being hypocritical. No matter, he would goad the two.
"Ye never were good at finishin' the enemy off were yer, Luna?" He cried from a good distance in reference to their previous conflicts. Though he had likely secured another duel with her, it would at least hopefully give her the rage to finish this one.

If emotions were a tap, Breeze's would be running like a waterfall. His apparent high spirit's were gradually returning, along with his wise attitude. "Lookit this! Th' 'orde's 'avin' a festival! Big bonfires and everythin'!" He huffed slightly whilst he padded through the mud lightly, oblivious to the sporadic fights between the armies. In his eyes and from how he interpreted the message, the war was already over. Those same eyes were now gleaming with delight, he had just gotten an idea - from his own remark no less.
Assembling a small squad, he began a small brigade with a simple purpose - loot the city for all the food they could find. "Yes, that's the ticket, hoho! Young Snowpaw! Come get some tucker eh? No, Humphrey! Your too plump already! Haha! I jest m'boy, come along then!" Though most of the hare's in his would be brigade really didn't know what their 'good' Captain was requesting of them.

The wind had picked up essentially and it chilled Snowpaw to the bone. He let out one last sob then let go of his father's body. "Ah promise Ah will give ye the best burial." He said between sobs. He grabbed up his fallen sabre, and pulled his cloak over more to protect him from the wind. He was about to join back in the fight when Breeze's voice cut through the air. He turned to where the sound came from and smiled. Good ole' Breeze, Always knows how to cheer someone up. "Aye, ye better be kidding, matey." Snowpaw chuckled then jogged over to Breeze. "Ah don't think Ah'll be needin' mah armor, eh?" Letting the question linger in the air, Snowpaw unbuckled his breast plate, threw off his greaves, dropped his buckler and buttoned up his coat. Breeze probably thought Snowpaw was crazy to take off his only protection, so Snowpaw just shrugged in Breeze's direction. Snowpaw then looked back at the tent where his father's body lay. "Hold up a tick, ah gotta get somethin'" Snowpaw darted off to the direction of the tent. He dropped his blade and picked up his father's. "Mah prayers be with thee, father." Snowpaw then kissed his father's forehead then sprinted off to Breeze. "Ah'm ready, sah. Give me the order, and Ah'll fight tae the death, ye ken?"

"Ashstrîs-Zâ!" yelled the messanger till he was right by the stripe dog, panting slightly after running as fast as he did to the Badger Lord. "High-Zâs... Defeated... But....But.... We... we not fast enough... New Zâ... Vulpîs-Zâ... Ashstrîs-Zâ... Vulpuz is the Supreme Overlord... Killed Rosethornîs-Zâ... Killed High Magus... and his cohorts... But... Vulpuz craz'. Freya watched as the fighters that were going against the Coalition of Vermin soldiers broke she heard her soldier's cheer immediantly as the New Azurrian soldiers began to cheer as well as the grouped together to continue the push together. Freya had a serious look on her face as she held her lance in hand. Ike came over to her. "Chieftess... Bad news... The prophesy Warrior-Darkhawk infromed us about has come to pass. Vulpuz has been awakened.... Killed the last of the High Command except for the fool leading the army." "You mean..." "Yes, the 'Dark Child' Prophecy... The fall of the old age and rise of the new age." Freya was silent for a moment before putting her hand to her lower stomach. "Chieftess... you do not have to fight, expecially with the--" "It is my honor to fight along side you. I will be alright... don't worry, Ike." "Chieftess..." Ike bowed his head as he vermin soldiers began to group together. Freya went over toward Ashstripe. "Our front is secured... Seems... Luna is having fun..."

Before Ashstripe could even laugh at his own prod at the fire, the messenger sought to drag him back to the harsh reality of the situation they were facing. He listened intently, attempting to decipher what he could from the Merrito accent but his translation efforts came to a very abrupt halt at the mention of 'Vulpuz' and the phrase 'Supreme Overlord'. The Badger Lord was never one for such ancient lore and mysticism, he wasn't really sure who or what Vulpuz is, let alone if he existed or not.
But if his campaign against the WARR horde and his many conversations with his friends and foe alike had taught him anything, it would be that the name Vulpuz was not to be taken lightly. And assuming that he heard the messenger right, this being of immeasurable power is insane - he sighed deeply, what higher power had he offended in his lifetime to deserve this?
With a grime ridden paw, Ashstripe wiped his face of sweat and frustration and thought for a moment further. But it wasn't necessary, "Aye, sounds reasonable enough." The Badger Lord almost smirked, taking the news of a potential apocalypse rather well, after all, it would be a chance to take on a would be deity. And how many times does that happen?
Freya's approach was near lost on Ashstripe, it wasn't until she reported their status did he pay more attention to what his eyes could see and not what he could see. "That's one bit of good news.." He glanced over to Luna once more after her mention, "Aye, the time of her life. The world's endin' and she'll go down doin' what she loves." At this, the weary badger chuckled lightly - as much as he could without straining his short breath.
_________________________
Breeze guffawed, exaggerating his apparent shock, "Fancy that! Takin' off y'safety suit in a time like this eh?" The lanky Captain fanned himself lightly with a free paw, "Then again, tis a bit hot eh? Wot!" He grinned and chuckled once more, he had missed breakfast, but he wouldn't be missing lunch...Or dinner for that matter.
"Fight t' th' death? Eh? Wot? I 'ave n-....Oh right! Ha! 'Tis a blinkin' war after all eh? Wot wot!" Breeze cleared his throat slightly, obviously taken off guard at the preposterous idea that a war could possibly involve fighting and death, "Well, let's fall in wot? That's the ticket, a nice little neat squad." He marched up and down, appraising his little special elite force of hares that he had assembled by chance. "Now then, lads and laddettes, chaps and chappesses, young sirs and maidens! Ol' Breezer's isn't gonna lie t'yers, this is a dangerous but important mission we 'ave, wot?" He paced further, keeping his rapier in check at his hip, placing a paw there every so often to reassure himself, as if someone could steal it at any moment.
"Th' fate of the Long Patrol...Nay, th' fate of the army, that includes us doncha know? Wot?...Rests on th' h'important retrieval of supplies and rations!" His attempt at a stirring speech and to disguise the real purpose of the mission was lost on the hare's in the squad, whom really had no idea what he was on about. Though the mission could be put in less eloquent terms - it was a looting mission to fill Breeze's stomach.
"Y'see that!" He pointed to the flames in the distance, "Those flamin' WARR beastie's are 'avin' a bloomin' bonfire! Their celebratin'! With vittles and drinks!" He huffed once more, "Fancy that! Not bein' invited to our own victory party! Ha! The nerve of our good hosts eh?" At this point, the seriousness of the mission began to take a dive and some members of the squad attempted to disband themselves, but with some persistent reassurance from Breeze and the fact that they would have to fight their way in managed to bind them a little longer.

Luna wasn’t having as much fun anymore as the others thought. Her normal grin had turned into a slight frown of irritation. She had dodged his original slash at her neck, but had taken his blow meant for her stomach. Luna’s armor had taken the killing stroke and turned it into a slight bruising of her abdomen. Since then she had continued to trade blows with him, trying to break through his defenses while avoiding his two smaller blades. Her cheek was bleeding from where his blade had caught her once, and there was a deep cut in her hand that made gripping her sword a trial in itself. As the horizon lit up with flames, she backed up a step, assessing the duel while the magus was distracted. She knew he would be able to block even if she attacked now: It was better to use this time to catch her breath and figure out how to finally draw this to a close. Under normal circumstances Luna loved a good duel, but right not wasn’t the time or place for one. It was getting frustrating for her to have to sacrifice her most powerful attacks for safety. It was drawing this duel out far too long for her liking. I bloody well missed the whole war for this bloke, and he ain't even dead yet.She told herself bitterly. Luna could hear the others in the back ground and gritted her teeth. They'd be off doing something else, while she was stuck with this arrogant knife fighter. "That's jus' bloody it.' She muttered and with a roar slashed down at the magus quickly. She didn't aim at his body though: Instead her blade flashed quickly toward one of his paws. Luna was going to attempt to disarm him in the most brutal manner she could, so that she could finally move on with her day.

"Zâ.... the killer... it's not like the other Zâs if the hordes... Its--"
(Imagin a movie scene where it cuts off the character but goes to another one who says the thing that character was about to say)
"DARKHAWK!?" Zeffer said as he stared at the warrior as the Merrito warriors who went with him stood at the white fox's side. They were at perfect attention, blade up to defend their leader. "Why did you kill everyone like this?" There was blood wipped across the ground, bodies limp and lifeless upon the cold, hard stone. "Why did you destroy everything?! ANSWER ME, DARKHAWK!" The red fox was on the throne of the Empire, in a manner that looked like he was bored and had nothing to do. The white fox look of anger slowly turned to surprise as he heard a sound. A sound so cold, and uncaring. Laughter.
The Magus was getting tired of the fight that he had allowed to occur. His soldiers were beginning to fall back as the saw smoke and flames seemingly engulf their land. The Magus had a look that reflected his hatred and anger with menacing that said he was insane or was near it. He side steped trusting at the Badger Lady with his knives, however, the muddy ground made him slip like it did to all of his soldiers that were fighting. He layed on the ground for a moment before lifting a spear up, and turning to face the Badger Lady. Again, he trusted at her with his newly optained spear, which he aimed and struck for her chain mail between the plate of her chest and her legings.

Luna had gone in for the kill the moment the magus had fallen. She grinned to herself, raising her sword high to make it a quick end. After all, he'd proven himself a worthy opponent. As the blade went up, she saw his paw grab a spear shaft. Oh no, she thought to herself and tried to stab down. She wasn't fast enough. Luna gave a grunt of pain as the thrust connected with her chain mail. Under normal circumstances the mail would hold up to a slash... but not a thrust. Metal bent as the blade dug itself in and Luna felt it enter flesh before she grabbed the shat and stopped the forward movement. Gripping it as tightly as possible she turned, using all her strength to move the magus and not cause anymore damage. Despite that effort, she felt the blade move, widening the wound she'd received. She prayed that her mail had stopped it from puncturing her stomach lining even as she gave a roar of pain as she attempted to fling the magus away from her.
Vigil stood stock still. There were many events in her life that had left her shaken to her very core. This was one of those events. As she watched Zeffer yell, Vigil couldn't help but feel she was in some sort of weird dream. She doubted it would end pleasantly. "Zeffer... I don't think we're dealing with Darkhawk." She muttered, trying to sound half caring and sarcastice. It was only a half hearted effort though, and Vigil continued to stare at Darkhawk in mounting horror.

The Magus had a grin on his face, however it faded as he was moved off the ground by Luna. He stared, eyes open wide in shock. "W-what strength is this?!" he said as he suddenly was violantly sent off to the side. He shouted in surprise as he feel upon a dying hare... and the dying hare's javelien. The point went threw the enemy. With a gasp the Magus showed he was alive but fatally injured as he layed on the spear. The Fox took out a knife in an attempt to kill himself quickly rather then die a slow death from bleeding out. The knife was lifted, then stopped as the hare grabbed the knife and threw it away. "Hey chap.... not gonna make it easy fo' ya'..." The hare smiled after a moment before dying from a sword wound that he had recieved in fighting.
Freya stared for a moment, trying not to express her emotions that her close boyfriend had forfilled what his people wanted him to be come. She merely lowered her head as the New Azurrian leader came over. Naja stood with the aid of one of her guards. "My commanders tell me that the enemy is in full retreat.... my warriors shall go to each post and take it over. The main bulk of my warriors will be heading to the dam... You need to get into the fort and kill the 'Supreme Overlord'... Kill him or stop him... We can't risk that he lives..." Freya lowered her gaze from the Wildcat NATA Leader. Anger was apparent as the Fox had her claws clenched together, holding in her emotions as Ike merely remained by her side to make sure nothing harmed the Chieftess.
"I'd listen to lesser being, Merrito scum..." hissed Darkhawk as he stood up, his blood red eyes staring coldly at Zeffer as well as to the others. His father's sword was at his side, blood sill on the black surface. The Merrito warriors growled angerly at the insult to their peoples honor. "The Merrito... I was expecting by now your kind would be whipped out like the Ferran... The Azurrian.... even the Sephron... As you know.... I'm not Azurrian or Sephron, am I? However, If I am one thing that is superior..." The seemingly possessed warrior laughed coldly. The Merrito warrior's growled louder, showing anger at the insult. "... If a race that were as gifted in knowledge as the Azurrian and as powerful as the Sephron came together... then the offspring would be the most superior being.... AND I AM THAT BEING!" In a moment, Darkhawk, in Vulpuz's Ancient armor, rushed forward strinking at the team of warriors.

Snowpaw smirked at the jovial captain, "Armor slows me down, sir. Besides... Ah got all the protection Ah need, ye ken?" He showed his father's sabre and saluted with it. "ah'll be with ye tae the end, sah!" Snowpaw dropped his salute then fell in the front ranks, not wanting to be in the back, feeling the back didn't have much combat. Besides, Breeze was basically Snowpaw's only father figure now, or at least that's how Snowpaw thought of it. As he stood to attention, rain started to pelt Snowpaw's face. He stared up at it, the rain starting to fall heavier then before. Snowpaw smirked, "Them beastie's will be slippin' and slidin' in the mud! From the highlands, Ah've had tae brave snow, believe me... Ice is slippier then mud, ye ken? Ah'll be fine taeday." He muttered to a hare next to him. "'Sides... It's mah birthday... Ah can't die on mah birthday! I'll be 15." Snowpaw muttered to himself. When Breeze started to shout out orders, Snowpaw smirked; Breeze and his food. Typical Breeze, always thinking about his stomach. Snowpaw's sudden expression would soon change. He was going on a mission... That was a way Snowpaw and his dad were seperated out of the several times they had been split up. Snowpaw's stomach gave a slight turn at the thought. And worst of all... His dad wouldn't be here for this mission. He wouldn't be right next to Snowpaw at the battle. Snowpaw's stomach jerked and twisted until Snowpaw actually threw up. He lean with his hands on his knees gagging. He stood up and washed his mouth with water then spat it back on the ground. Snowpaw took two steps forward so he was next to Breeze... Then fainted.

A sigh was emitted from the Badger, perhaps victory wasn't as close as he once perceived it to be. He nodded and smiled weakly at Freya's course of action - he was tired and getting a tad bit old for this. "I'll lead the Long Patrol there maeself..." With near mammoth effort, he heaved himself onto his own legs and not his sword and with further will power and to his credit, prevented himself from cursing out loud due to the amount of pain and fatigue that had just found their way to his perception.
Again, Ashstripe heaved himself forward, towards the city, he was going to need a huge adrenaline rush to get through this alive but he had simply burnt out his reserves. He couldn't find any rage to use as flint for the fires of bloodwrath. The Badger sighed in frustration again, this certainly was going to get a whole lot worse before it would show any signs of getting better.
He raised his sword and roared out what little orders he could muster, "To the City! Eulllliiiiiiaaaaa!". There it was. The rush. The best feeling in the world, no sooner than had he breathed the first word of the order did he feel life flow back into him, this could very well be the last charge of the war. Thank the fates for that.
_________________________
Already the newly assembled squad was falling apart, the hare's were tired and had no energy for Breeze's antics. But they simply couldn't see it from his eyes, this wasn't another one of his jokes...At least he didn't think so.
But before he could even state his claim to his sub-ordinates, did one of them in question collapse, Snowpaw. Already they were dispersing, some calling him a mad man and others simply tending to Snowpaw. Perhaps this idea of his was far-fetched, but this was a stab at rousing the hare's from their fatigue, the Long Patrol wasn't a serious organisation as far as he was concerned.
As quickly as his reflexes could allow, Breeze grabbed Snowpaw before his head met with a rather hasty meeting with the mud. In a rare moment of clarity, Breeze breathed a sigh, the boy was still young and couldn't be expected to continuously surmount the assault. "Take 'im back t' th' camp wot.." He signalled and ordered rather quietly, even his phenomenal energy reserves were running dry.
((I simply don't have the energy or will to drag Kenzie and Sarge back into this for now.))

Snowpaw quickly recovered to hear the words: 'Back to the camp'. At first he thought they weren't going to mount the assault. No? Long Patrol hares are never known to retreat. As he was hauled to his feet, Snowpaw quickly shrugged off the other hares and walked clumsily over to his commanding officer, "Are we retreating?! We're never known to ret--" He was cut off by another hare whispering in his ear, "Er... Lad... You kinda fainted... Breeze just wanted to take ya back to the blinkin' camp before you hurt yaself, doncha know?" This angered Snowpaw. He wasn't angry at Breeze, no. He was angry at the enemy. Snowpaw stomped off and shouted randomly to the enemy lines, "First you take my father! Now you're willing to take me! My friends! To hell with you!" A tear coarsed down Snowpaw's cheek as he turned to face the hares he was going to fight with. He motioned to his heart and tried to bare a smile but couldn't. His white paw was dirtied with dried blood and crusty mud. His sword paw was covered in calluses from holding his blade so long for this battle and for every time he had fought. He stumbled over to Breeze and put his paw on Breeze's shoulder, "Promise me you won't bring me back to camp. Promise me!" Snowpaw said, trying to ease the anger and pain in his voice, but failing miserably. Then Snowpaw broke down and cried.
"Ah don't want to go back, sir. Please let me take on the enemy. Please!" Snowpaw stared up at his captain... His mentor... And his friend. He mouthed the words, 'please'.

"NATA To the Dam!" yelled Naja as she moved with her warriors to toward the dam. Her soldiers obeyed the order and formed into their standard formation and began to move toward the farther east of the city in flames.
Zeffer's eyes were opened wide as the warrior hit his blades. It was stronger then he thought as the white fox was knocked back, while his two other warriors continued the attack Zeffer drew his hidden Katana-like blade, a weapon he hardly ever used. The White fox charged forward.
