A wooden coracle rested on the bank of the stream. It was partly (and badly) covered up by some reeds which had been thrust around it. Leading away from the coracle were two sets of footprints, each roughly the same size. The tracks led into an old barn, the door of which had been crudely wedged open.
"Egh Spinetooth, I'd never thought yous wouldda picked dis nice a restin' spot. Mahybe I done got you wrong all deese times I called yous names." Two rats, could clearly be seen inside the barn, lazing around on the warm pall on the floor. Weghul, the taller of the rats, sighed. If only they had breaks like this everyday....
The smaller rat got up, shaking himself off as he did so. "Imma goin to sit uppeh, der wher de' softer hay be's" Weghul was too lazy to even get up..."Spiney, yous go dew dat yerself, I not get up from mine own comfy spot." There was a silence then, only broken by Spinetooth climbing a ladder to the higher boughs of the barn.
"Nice n comfy up heres, jist de ways I like it...de hay is soft and nice... and ..." Further babbling was cut short as Spinetooth jumped on the bale of hay. There was a scream, followed by a crash, like something dramatically falling to earth. Weghul sat bolt upright at the sound. "Spinetooth? Spinetooth?" No answer greeted Weghul. "Spinetooth? Stop kidding matey, cum out! Where de name O' nails is yous?" Suddenly, they was a clatter, and something shiny fell from the upper boughs.

Not far from the old barn a middle-seasoned otter sat, back against an oak, humming a little song to himself. He was nearly pitch black, odd for an otter and he had jade green eyes, his fur dripping slightly. The river otter had just found his way out of the stream that led to the great ocean and was sunning himself in the light's rays when he heard a terrible shriek. He was up and racing through the trees in a flash, his foot-paws moving in blurs. he wove around a final yew before stopping in the barn. He wasn't sure if it was a trap but he was a single, well known hirable assassin. Few creatures dared try and ambush him.
He found his way into the barn and found a single rat starring up at the rafters above his head. "Spinetooth? Stop kidding matey, cum out! Where de name O' nails is yous?" He was saying. That's when the silver item clanged to the floor. The otter leaned forward to get a better look. Luckily, the rat was so focused on the shiny that he hadn't seen his possible threat.

Weghul had his back to the barn door, so he did not see the otter. Preoccuppied as he was with Spinetooth, he did not even notice the silver item drop from the higher bough. At least he didn't notice until he tripped on it. "De what? " Weghul lay flat on his back, the mysterious silver item out of sight. He could see Spinetooth now, looking down at him. "De matey, dem you git what I toss dow' to ye?" Spinetooth called down to him. Weghul was furious, he jumped up and yelled at his lackey. "De onl' way yew useless lump kin ever do me favors is not te. Don' do me No favors!" Weghul looked about for the shiny object. "De fool, now you made me go an' lose it. Don't go throw'in down shhiny objects iff'n you goin ter kill a body wid yer stuopud luck!" Spinetooth began to climb down from the bough. He looked thouroghly apologetic and crushed. "A'hm sorry Cap'n but de help you look fer de Silver Shiney." "De 'ellgates yew will Spiney, and yew kin look fer it derself" Replied Weghul. (done)

A chocolate brown squirrel heard some commotion in an old barn ahead. Warily, she slided her way to the door, spying a black otter as healso made his way to the barn, but not half as sleathily as herself. Believing she was invisible to all untarined waitcher, Letty blended into the background and listened to the two rats.
"...Silver Shiney!" one rat yelled.
"Huh? Silver shiney? That might be worth investigating." Letty thought. She took out a throwing knife from her belt, took aim, and threw. The weapon flew right where she wanted to, a hai's breadth away from one rat's head.
As both rats turned to see what the threat was, Letty had a momentary chance to see what was going on inside the barn. There were two rats, fat and ugly, looking around stupidly. "Why don't they have a sentry?" Then Letty realized she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings either.
She turned her head a quarter and saw the middle-aged black otter lees than a yard away. "Can he see me?' Letty thought anxiously squirming.
The otter whipped his head around and stared at the place were she stood. Letty froze, knowing that any movement would give her away. The otter eventually thhought he heard nothing significant, and turned back to the twoo rats, who were once again looking for that elusive Silver Shiney.

Delettan, I'm afraid this thread is dead. You may join another, though. You also played the roles of Dirgecallers' rats and Rakko's otter, which is not allowed and is known as G-Modding or Godmodding.
