(( Otters only please if you can help it (PLEASE!!), but anyone is welcome. )) Travioso Trueflight sunk quickly through a dense path of wood in Mossflower. The bell tower of Redwall Abbey could just barely be seen through the green foliage of the trees. Travi stood still behind a tree, trying his best to camouflage himself and listened. The wind rustled the few old leaves from last spring that still littered the ground. The new baby birds chirped in their nests, in the new morn', calling out to the momma birds who were out hunting for food. Nobeast as following him. Travi sighed a deep breath of relief. He was in the clear for now, but that was too close! "Next time mate," Travi muttered to himself, "get out o' dere faster!" He slumped down, sitting at the base of the tree, catching his breath. Then all of a sudden, an otter stepped out from the gloom of an aging oak tree in front of Travi and spoke. "Naw w'at did ye da now dat 'as ye runnin' fur ye life out in da woods? Ah naw ye made trouble, but ah nay t'ink ye 'er went dat far.." Travi jerked up at the voice, wrenching out his dagger, but he put it away when he saw who it was. He stood up slowly, a puzzled look on his face.."Ye be dat magic mate dat some time come around...Renny ain't it?" Renny stuck out his paw in a shake. " Illusions, but aye, an' ye be dat terror Travi dat ah was a teachin' me trade ta back at da Abbey. Sa w'at ya be a doin' out 'ere?" Travi accepted the paw and replied."Not'in much. Ah just be a puttin glue on all da soaps in da Abbey. T'was mighty funny until the Abbot was all a shoutin' about skelpin' me tail. Sa ah got out o' dere fur a awhile." He shrugged. "Dey just be a needin' ta cool down and ah'll be a goin' back later...." Travi tailed off, looking suspiciously behind him. Renny tried to focus on what Travi was looking at when Travi jerked around. His bow out and firing an arrow in a direction toward Renny's front right. Travi then shouted. "Ah heard ye! Came and face me ya varment!"

Tharin Streambattle was happy. The young otter had a good feeling about the day in front of him. The cool stream he had found, the fish he had caught, the warm sun, today was going to be a good day. A big reason why he felt that today was to be good was that he was probably going to make it to Redwall. Tharin had never actually been there, but he had heard the tails of the great feasts, the good creatures and the wonderful hotroot soup. Too bad his brother was not here to enjoy the beautiful day. Tharin wondered if he would ever see Rogg again. He felt sad for a moment and slowed his pace. The otter looked up at the blue sky, thinking about all of the good times they had together. But that was in the past, he shook his head and kept walking down the path.
Ah heard ye! Came and face me ya varment!"
As he walked he took out his small carving knife and started to work on a piece of wood that he was carving into the shape of a star. Tharin loved carving wood, the otter loved how he could bring shapes out of the most simple pieces of wood. He never really did anything with his art, he just thought they looked nice. His musings were cut short when an arrow came flying out of nowhere. He dropped what he was doing and looked up startled at the random projectile. The young otter was not a trained fighter and awkwardly tried to draw his short sword. He looked around warily, then a disembodied voice came from nowhere. He looked around quickly and saw the other two otters. Why would an otter shoot an arrow at him? The young otter knew that he was not a very good fighter so he put up his webbed paws placativly, he then spoke in a calm, kindly voice. "Hello matey, no need to kill me, I'm a friend." He put his sword on the ground in front of him. "Away put your weapon, I mean you no harm!" [sorry just couldn't resist].....

"Hello matey, no need to kill me, I'm a friend." He put his sword on the ground in front of him. "Away put your weapon, I mean you no harm!"
Renny looked the new comer over. He was a traveler and by the way he used his weapon, he was not really a fighter. Renny then smacked Travi on the back of the head with his paw and berated him. "Ye 'eard da mate! Put yer weapon away! 'e put 'is down and ye s'ould to. Ye need ta stop bein' sa fast ta kill. It'll get ye slaug'tered un day."
Travi winced at the blow from Renny. He slowly put his bow back and the arrow in it's quiver. "Well w'at if 'e was a varment! Ye wauld be a t'ankin' me fur a savin' yer life!" He snapped back. He didn't like being ordered around or being wrong. It was true he could have killed the otter, but he chose to keep his lips shut, for he knew that Renny would outsmart any argument he could make. He then folded his arms across his chest and slouched.
Renny walked toward the other otter and picked up it's blade. He looked it over, flipped around with a few sword tricks the handed it back to the otter hilt first. "T'is be a good blade mate. wit' some practice ye could be a really good ats it. Ye 'ave naw need ta be a 'fird Travi just be a 'ot'ead. "e ain't gonna kill ye. Ah be Renaud Wildroar." He held out his paw. " Ah feel like ah meet ye a fore. W'at be yer name mate?"

Takeru Stormston obviously wasn't up to any good. Once more, she was in Mossflower and had come from the coast the other day. Her small vermin band was farther back at camp, resting and cooking food while preparing a fire. The idiots could get themselves killed as far as she was concerned. She didn't care either way.
T'is be a good blade mate. wit' some practice ye could be a really good ats it. Ye 'ave naw need ta be a 'fird Travi just be a 'ot'ead. "e ain't gonna kill ye. Ah be Renaud Wildroar. Ah feel like ah meet ye a fore. W'at be yer name mate?
Goodbeasts. Always relaxed, convinced that nothing was going to hurt them while they chatted. Takeru scowled, her fangs bared. Her one good eye was watching the three otters while her scarred eye watched pretty much nothing as she couldn't see out of it.
"I hate to break up this happy meeting." she growled, emerging from the bushes with a disgusted grimace. "Actually, that was a lie." she added as an afterthought.

"Well w'at if 'e was a varment! Ye wauld be a t'ankin' me fur a savin' yer life!"
Tharin gulped. He wondered why this otter was so hostile, otters were normally very fun loving and did not shoot random arrows at travelers. This was not normal, but that was not a problem the other one seemed nice. He felt nervous, he did not like conflict and could not really fight, even though he could use his bow fairly well he still was not a warrior by a long shot. The otter stuttered slightly as he spoke to the two. "U-uh, I-I'm not a vermin. I-I'm just a traveler passing through. Please, n-no hostility!" He glanced apprehensively at Renny as he advanced.
Tharin accepted the webbed paw gratefully and shook it heartily. Well, they must not be hostile after all. The other otter thought they had met? Tharin did not really recognize Renaud's face, but maybe somewhere in the past. A faint thought that maybe Renaud had met Tharin's brother Rogg crossed Tharin's mind for a moment, if that was the case then Renaud could have information about Tharin's brother. But that would come in time. The otter lost all of his former trepidation and smiled at Renaud. "Please to meet you Renud! I'm Tharin Streambattle. Uh, I'm not sure if we have met before but maybe you could refresh my memory-" He was cut short by the arrival of the ferret.
"I hate to break up this happy meeting." she growled, emerging from the bushes with a disgusted grimace. "Actually, that was a lie."
Oh yatz, why could things never be easy? The ferret's arrival startled Tharin, he gulped again and started to stutter slightly. "U-um, why don't you just f-frell off ferret? We don't want to kill you, just leave us alone and go torment a f-f-frog" The young otter started to tremble slightly, he took the sword from Renaud and held the tip ready. Tharin did not really know about sword fighting except what he had learned from his brother Rogg. He remembered one of the things Rogg had told him: talking big is half the battle. Tharin hoped that he could talk big enough....

Lysistra Darkmoon and her gang of robbers searched Mossflower for anything they could take, rob or burn. The assorted vermin spread out in a wide fan as the moved through the brush so they would not miss anything.
"U-um, why don't you just f-frell off ferret? We don't want to kill you, just leave us alone and go torment a f-f-frog"
A scared sounded voice came from the path ahead. Lysistra nodded to the robbers around her. Suddenly, they burst onto the path, weapons drawn. They formed a line, facing the otters and the ferret on the other side of the path. "Put down you weapons or die!" Lysistra shouted to the otters. The young pine marten then turned to Takeru. "I am sure you want what these otters have as well," she said, "work with us and we will split the loot."

((I'm really disappointed in you two...You both know what I was planing!...*sighs*...I guess we just have to move on....*looks sad and mopey*))
"U-uh, I-I'm not a vermin. I-I'm just a traveler passing through. Please, n-no hostility! Please to meet you Renud! I'm Tharin Streambattle. Uh, I'm not sure if we have met before but maybe you could refresh my memory-"
Renny shook the paw heartily and smiled. "T'is good ta meet ye ta Tharin Streambattle." Then then looked away like he was trying to remember something and continued talking."Streambattle...Streambattle...T'at's it!" He snapped his "fingers" together in realization and looked back at Tharin."T'at w'ere ye looks furmilure! I mets an otter just like ye, name ' Streambattle too. His name be Rogg. Strong fighter dat mate. Ye know him?"
Travi rolled his eyes as Renny made "adequate introductions". It was all really boring to him. He again pulled out his bow and began twanging the string to check for any thinning in the thread, but as usual, it was just fine. Then Travi heard a noise behind him. It sound defiantly like a beast was watching him. He calmly pulled an arrow out of his quiver, then jerked around with surprising speed, his arrow at the ready to strike as the ferret came out of the bushes and spoke.
"I hate to break up this happy meeting. Actually, that was a lie."
Renny spun around upon hearing the new voice and seeing Travi with an arrow aimed toward the ferret's heart.
"U-um, why don't you just f-frell off ferret? We don't want to kill you, just leave us alone and go torment a f-f-frog"
Renny wanted to congratulate Tharin for being brave enough to say that, for he could tell, Tharin wasn't one to pick a fight. But, he knew that now was not the time. Renny calmly raised his eyebrows in discouragement and scolded the ferret.
"Tisk Tisk mate. Ye should nay be a lying tis bad fur ye 'ealt'." He motioned over to Travi's angered face. " Especially w'en 'e be around."
Travi was about to rap out at Renny's regal reply when he saw more shadows step out on to the path near by. There was a fair amount (aka: Merce How many?) of ragtag vermin that stepped out of the brush and the pine martin that stepped forward was obviously the leader. Travi kept his stance cold and his glare hard. If they were to go down he was going down fighting, and putting an arrow in the leader's skull.
"Put down you weapons or die I am sure you want what these otters have as well, work with us and we will split the loot."
Renny rolled his eyes and sighed at the new leader's remark. He kept his left paw at the ready to grab his blade if he need to but kept his voice steady as he replied curtly to the pine martin's command.
"Ah will nay put down ma weapon mate fur dere is nothin' from us dat ye woald desire." He then looked hard at the Pine Martin as if trying to recognize it, to judge it. "Da ye normally raid around 'ere?" he asked.

U-um, why don't you just f-frell off ferret? We don't want to kill you, just leave us alone and go torment a f-f-frog.
Takeru smiled evilly. "From what I've seen of you, you couldn't kill a stoat if it sat in front of your face and begged to die." she growled, her smile turning into a smirk. "You can buzz off now and tell your little riverdog pals to get going too. This isn't about you," she added, flicking her ears forward and whirling around. "This is about a certain pine marten who is about to get her butt kicked." she hissed in a whisper that the pine marten wouldn't be able to hear as Lysistra Darkmoon and her army thundered out of the bushes.
Put down you weapons or die! the marten shouted officiously to the otters with the air of one who was used to giving commands before turning to Takeru.
I am sure you want what these otters have as well, work with us and we will split the loot.
Takeru's single good eye looked at Lysistra with an expression of deepest loathing. Her other eye, permanently closed under a lid, was not able to look at the marten but its eyebrow rose up.
"Listen, marten. The only thing I'm going to be splitting is your skull if you don't do as I say. I don't want loot. These otters have nothing...nothing I want. The only thing I want is your death, at the moment. And mark my words, I will have it."
Tisk Tisk mate. Ye should nay be a lying tis bad fur ye 'ealt'. Especially w'en 'e be around.
Takeru smirked. "I've lied...a lot, frankly. And I'm still alive and uninjured," she growled, her scarred eye saying otherwise. "Oh yes...except for my eye. And I don't think a lot about your little mad otter friend over there. He doesn't look too hard to deal with." she said, paying no attention to the arrow trained to her chest.
"Now listen. You've caught me in a kill-all-annoying-vermin mode...so there's no point in actually trying to kill me, because it isn't going to do you any favors."
Ah will nay put down ma weapon mate fur dere is nothin' from us dat ye woald desire. Da ye normally raid around 'ere?
Takeru smirked. "I'd assume so. After all, she wouldn't be coming from Sampetra or Green Isle every day just to go raid some creatures that have nothing for her but some blades and scraps of food."

OOC: Big brother to the rescue!!
It was a good day for Rogg Streambattle, he could not explain why he felt this overwhelming happiness. He had not been swimming, he had not eaten some great pile of food, the young otter just felt good somehow. He was on a path through Mossflower just going where the winds would take him, no particular destination in mind. Who needed a destination when he was the sky was so blue, the birds were singing so merrily and the path so soft underpaw? Yes, today was going to be a good day, he just knew it.
Some time later as he was nearing the place of the earlier posts, he stopped. He did not hear or smell what was up ahead, the otter just had a strange feeling he had not felt in years. The young otter slowed his pace somewhat, a puzzled expression upon his face. Then his keen sense of smell caught the harsh sent of vermin, and otters too, and something else. Rogg drew his blade and cut off the path into the trees of Mossflower. He could then hear the vermin and the otters conversing. He could not quite see them clearly so he dropped to a prone position and crawled forward to the edge of the path. Three otters and a pack of vermin... Stamp me rudder, it was Tharin, Rogg's little brother. He lay there for a moment, a plethora of memories flooding his mind. It was his brother from Green Isle, standing there. He seemed the same, the stocky form, kind face and slightly stuttering voice. Rogg almost cried out, they had not seen each other for almost four years, but now, they were about to be reunited. But then Rogg realized that there were vermin, a lot of vermin, and they did not seem very friendly twords the otters. Rogg did not exactly know what to do so he stood up and glared at the vermin menacingly. Nobeast messed with family. "Shut your hole ferret. Leave now and maybe I'll let you live."
"I'd assume so. After all, she wouldn't be coming from Sampetra or Green Isle every day just to go raid some creatures that have nothing for her but some blades and scraps of food."
Tharin was getting more and more nervous. He really did not know the first thing about fighting, and it looked like it was going to come to that. He wished his brother was here. Rogg was a warrior, a fighter, a slayer. But Rogg was not here so Tharin might have to defend himself. Tharin was so nervous that he hardly noticed the otter who was laying on the ground less then three meters from him. But when Rogg stood, Tharin knew. He stood stunned, a light-headed feeling came across his body for a moment, it was his big brother Rogg there standing in front of him. Why had he left Green Isle? Tharin had no idea that Rogg was one of the most feared mercenaries in the land. To Tharin, Rogg was still that matey that played with him in the rivers and lakes of their home.
Tharin almost ran forward but then reconsidered as the vermin bands eyed him heartlessly. Reunions would have to wait...

(About 15 in the group Glavon. Once again, try to kill my guys, just don't kill them. I'll probably have lots die anyway. "Listen, marten. The only thing I'm going to be splitting is your skull if you don't do as I say. I don't want loot. These otters have nothing...nothing I want. The only thing I want is your death, at the moment. And mark my words, I will have it.""Well aren't we the feisty one!" Lysistra sneered, "Its fifteen to one. You're dead a ferret." The vermin gang snickered to each-other and drew closer to Takeru. "Ah will nay put down ma weapon mate fur dere is nothin' from us dat ye woald desire. Da ye normally raid around 'ere?"Before Lysistra could answer, Takeru did. "I'd assume so. After all, she wouldn't be coming from Sampetra or Green Isle every day just to go raid some creatures that have nothing for her but some blades and scraps of food.""At least you know something," Lysistra said, "Mossflower is my hunting grounds." She started towards the other beasts with some evil idea, but Rogg's appearance halted her. "Shut your hole ferret. Leave now and maybe I'll let you live."Lysistra turned to the newcomer. "Yes, I was about to suggest that myself," she said with a smile. The new otter looked bigger and stronger, a true warrior. But, with numbers on her side. Lysistra was feeling bold. "Nice armor," she said to Rogg, "I'll take it from your dead body." Then, without another word, she stabbed at his head. ****** Gutclaw, a large fox, advanced on Takeru with a grin. "Go to hell-gates," he said and swung his battle-axe down at her. A sneaky rat tried to jump on her from the other side. A stoat charged at Tharin, a make shift spear lowered. A tall weasel took a sweeping stroke at Renny's head with a cutlass. The other vermin stood around on the path, cheering Lysistra on.

Shut your hole ferret. Leave now and maybe I'll let you live.
Takeru cleared her throat. "I'm not sure which part of the 'I am going to kill this pine marten' thing you understood, and I don't have that great of a desire to repeat myself. So you can either shut up and help me kill this retarded excuse for a pine marten or start trying to stab me."
She shifted her position, her paw moving smoothly to the iron and gold scimitar stowed in her belt as the pine marten haughtily added her unwanted comments to the otter's statement.
Well aren't we the feisty one! Its fifteen to one. You're dead a ferret.
"That is completely incorrect," Takeru said, eyes scanning the ranks of foebeasts. "I don't know what part of math you missed. but there seems to be one of me and four otters. Therefore, it's five extremely well trained otters and a ferret up against you and your sorry, scruffy bunch. And who do you think's going to win? Wait-" she quickly said. "Don't answer that. I know how full of themselves pine martens are."
At least you know something, Mossflower is my hunting grounds.
"And it's also the hunting grounds of a million more excuses for beasts like you." she replied, sounding rather unconcerned.
Yes, I was about to suggest that myself. the marten replied to Rogg before sending a threat at him.
Nice armor, I'll take it from your dead body.
The marten lunged at Rogg, and Takeru turned her attention to the marten's band of vermin. A big fox approached her with a smirk on his face.
Go to hell-gates.
The battle-axe swung down. In a swift movement, Tak threw up her scimitar, blocked the blow, kicked out at Gutclaw's stomach, and swung her scimitar at the fox's head, in a move that would hopefully decapitate him if it hit.
Suddenly, she felt the weight of something land on her. Instinctively, she whirled, slashed at the rat, and leapt out of the way, heading for Lysistra's unprotected back before she lashed out, hoping to stab her with the scimitar.

"From what I've seen of you, you couldn't kill a stoat if it sat in front of your face and begged to die. You can buzz off now and tell your little riverdog pals to get going too. This isn't about you This is about a certain pine marten who is about to get her butt kicked."
Travi rolled his eyes. Vermin were typical. Not worried about anyone but themselves and who they wanted to kill. He snarled at the ferret, his bow still aimed at it's heart. "Ah ain't gain' na were w'ile ye scum still call mea a riverdog.." _________________________________________________ "Listen, marten. The only thing I'm going to................"
"Well aren't we the feisty one!.................."
"That is completely incorrect....." _________________________________________________
Renny watched as the ferret and the pine martin went at it. He didn't want to interject their argument, for if he did, he would bring more trouble upon himself and the other otters around him. These two were certainly confident on taking eachother out, and if they wanted to do that....they could be his guests.......
"I've lied...a lot, frankly. And I'm still alive and uninjured, Oh yes...except for my eye. And I don't think a lot about your little mad otter friend over there. He doesn't look too hard to deal with."
Renny shook his head disapprovingly at the ferret as Travi tensed up on his bow, almost growling with anger. Travi snarled, " Ye shoald matey..if ye favor ye pathetic puny life..."
Renny pointed over to Travi. "Unfortunately, matey, I 'ave ta agree wit' Travi over dere." He said staring gravely into the ferret's eyes. "Dat be da truth'." __________________________________________________
"I'd assume so. After all, she wouldn't be coming......

Renny stared hard into the eyes of the pine martin. "Just a makin' sure. Ye see, dis confirms w'o ye are....an' yes ah knaw somt'in'.....Me matey...Zayanya....S'e be a tellin' me about ye da last time ah was a o'er dere....S'e tald mea ta be a keepin' an eye out fur ye..............."
"Shut your hole ferret. Leave now and maybe I'll let you live."
Renny looked over, and saw Rogg appear from out of the shrubbery. He needed not to say a word as he looked into the other otter's eyes. They had met before and Renny gave Rogg a nod to say, good to see you, nice time to join the fight. __________________________________________________ "Yes, I was about to suggest that myself...."
"I'm not sure which part of the 'I am going to kill this pine marten' thing you understood........." ___________________________________________________
A stoat charged at Tharin, a make shift spear lowered. A tall weasel took a sweeping stroke at Renny's head with a cutlass. The other vermin stood around on the path, cheering Lysistra on.
Renny pulled out his blade, prepared for the attacking vermin as he shouted a warning to Tharin."Grab ye sword Matey! Dis is w'ere da fun starts..." He then ducked the weasel's stroke. With the expertise of a professional swordsbeast, he whipped his blade upward trying to flick the blade out of the weasel's paw then whipping the blade down to cut his throat.
The then turned to jab at the stoat's (who decided to attack Tharin) side to try and rescue Tharin from the bloody battle.
As the battle started, Travi let out a roar of excitement. Now THIS was gong to be a good day! He turned his arrow sight to the jeering crowd and let it fly, aimed directly at a rat's scull. He then whipped the string of of his bow and charged. For his bow( when the string was removed) became a very deadly javelin type weapon. He ran head first into the mob of vermin the light of battle blaring in his eyes. Yes.....the ferret quoted correctly...Travioso was indeed mad............
