That's besides my point. My point is that while yes, I can read Redwall stories, I won't enjoy them as much as I used to. Nowadays I start to see some of the characters as a little bland and the plots predictable.
Whether that's me or a factor of growing up, I don't know.

Yeah, I largely don't mention Redwall to my friends because they're all so flat. It makes me look like I don't like thoughtful books. Plus, they won't appreciate them, either because they don't know them or because they already see them as kiddish. I dunno.
Anyways, make it too dystopian, though, and it ceases to be Redwall altogether. You also run the risk of it becoming too emo/unhappy, at which point it just becomes kinda obnoxious. We need to have a little bit of that happiness that makes Redwall, Redwall.
Also, making it more mature makes us run a good risk of driving away younger members who won't appreciate the different format. Younger members are also more likely to stick around, since they're not as busy and more likely to retain their interest in Redwall longer. Young people can keep things going, even if they're not looking for total originality.

I hope you're not referring to me as a younger member, Tir. I think I would be insulted. I pay A LOT of attention to details before I join a site. I'm picky about it, you know?
And come on. Who wants to be in on a board where characters are cussing every other second?
