Tataroo stood several feet away from Rein, watching the fox coldly. A stampede of Redclaw soldiers had abruptly halted their fight, and now the battle feild was significantly emptier. He looked at 'Retchen, and glanced at the marten who seemed to be taking out a score of enemies on his own. Tataroo could hear Matecol howling derangedly not far off.
He came to a descision. The stoat held his paw high and roared in his loudest voice, "FALL BACK TO OUR CAMP, STOATS! IF WE DO NOT JOIN FORCES THEN REDWALL IS OURS ALONE!" Half his crew had heard him, and quickly broke off whatever they were doing and dashed backwards, crashing through the foliage towards their own camp. The other half saw the retreat and began backing up slowly and carefully, not turning their backs away from their comrades until their paws were in the foliage. Tataroo shrugged in 'Retchen's direction. "I'd rather you take charge and make sure we get back to camp with most of our numbers. Shoot any stragglers, and any enemies who try to follow us."
That said, the crimson-caped stoat swept his scimitar in a flashing ark, almost like a bow, and gave a grim smile towards Rein. "Another time, then..." Turning with the swish of his cloak, he stalked towards the trees.

Farrel continued decimating ranks around him. He worked simply, he distracted with one blade and slew with another. As he ran a stoat through, he said.
"If you're going to wield a weapon, know how to use it." A stoat with a longsword and a flowing green cape stepped out and said.
"Hold on boys, this guys mine." The vermin said.
"Get 'em cap'n Frent!" Farrel dropped one sword and the vermin made a circle. Striking an en guard position, both beasts circled, waiting for an opening. The stoat slashed! Farrel blocked and thrust. Frent parried and stabbed at his stomach. The marten blocked and cut of an ear. The stoat staggered back, bleeding and boiling with rage, and attacked again. Farrel whacked his hand with his flat, and hit the sword again, disarming him. Frent looked up, terror in his eyes.
"A boon, a boon, mercy!" Farrel laughed.
"Mercy? Ask mercy from the creatures you have killed, at Dark Forest!" He thrust and wiped his blade clean. Picking up the other sword, he flung himself at the shocked vermin.

Matey was in the midst of the retreating stoats when out of the corner of his crazed eye his saw Farrel attack a small group of his boys.
Turning on his heel immiedately, his stone-studded belt swung out and clacked harshly against one of the swords, knocking the point sharply downwards into the ground. Matey twirled his weapon lazily, raiing an incredulous eyebrow at Farrel.
"Ain't you the 'igh an' mighty one, mate? What've ye' got against vermin, see'n as yer one yerself." His eyes gleamed and flashed as he spread his paws wide. "C'mon, the fight's endin', but yew seem full o' energy. If yer gonna be slaughterin' my mates, ye' might as well challenge me, eh? I s'pose yew'd perfer fightin' the Cap'n, but he's busy right now. So sorry."

OOC: Yo, Farrel, who you attackin'? Rein? Tatarro? Redclaw? Or just everyone? And seriously, you're not invulnerable. Over 1500 troops, you have to take hits, Farrel.
BIC:
Rein called off his troops, and looked around his feet. Bodies were everywhere, strewn around, and hewn in half. He couldn't tell the difference from his or Tataroo's, but he had many beasts left. He stood there, his cape blowing behind him, sword bloodied in one hand, a broken buckler in the other, and a smirk on his face. He dropped the buckler and ran after Tataroo, a thought forming in his mind.
As he ran, it seemed that the world slowed, and he turned and looked at Farrel. Vermin killing vermin. Thats something you dont see every day. The tall fox looked back over at Tataroo's retreating form, and Matey's newly arriving form. Farrel killed off both their troops, and frankly, Rein didn't like unwanted visitors. He slowly walked over to Farrel and Matey, a new smirk re-forming on his face. Farrel seemed like a good fighter, but he made a very vital mistake: He didn't watch his surroundings. There were troops around him, and a half lit campfire behind him. This'll be amusing
Rein put that thought in the back of his head, grabbed a shield from a fallen body and walked over to them both. He held his sword in front of him and the shield beside him, and stood by Matecol's side. "Don't stab me in the back. Let's rid the world of this scum who kills his own kind, and joins the goodbeasts." The black fox spat on the ground by Farrel's feet, then a grin curled on his lips, "Let's dance, marten."

Tataroo did not turn around. He had heard the pawsteps behind him--it was a simple matter that he did not care.
Suddenly the pawsteps diverted, and out of the corner of his eye Tataroo saw Rein draw near Matecol and the destructive pine marten. He saw the fox's lips move but heard no words over the din. What he did see was Matecol jerk his head to glare coldly at the fox. He couldn't hear what Matecol was saying, but once again, he didn't quite care.
In fact, what Matecol told Rein was along the lines of this: "I do not stab people. The knives on my belt are only for show. I crack their skulls and I do it so that they do not get up again. And as to your offer to rid the world of scum killing their own kind, I believe you've accomplished that on a far larger scale then one pine marten may have. I don't care if you attack him or me. The result in my book will be the same--enemies never live long."
All in all, an egoistical speech--but then, Matecol could be an egoistical person. Tataroo continued walking and hadn't turned back.

((That is why he fights on the rim))
Farrel was doing well, but he had been slashed down the left leg by a spear head. Noticing his challenger, he spoke up.
"I am Farrel Foehunter, Me and my kind are not vermin, despite some traitors. I am a vermin hunter, I live to clean you filth out of mossflower. I accept your challenge. Have it at you!" Farrel dropped one of his swords and gripped the other tightly. He prepared to go into combat status. But first.
"Vermin, make sure your soldiers do not interfere with our duel. You may attack when ready after that."

(Sorry my computer crashed I have not been able to post) While the Redclaw horde left slowly, leaving thousands of prints in the fresh white snow, Valdis halted. As he was leaving, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a blood crazed pine martin spreading death in the clearing. Rein and Matecol were about to fight him too! Valdis could not hear all that was said but his ears picked up one phrase in particular, "vermin hunter." Valdis stiffened. He hated the so called vermin hunters and slayers. Especially those foxes or other typically vermin creatures who became them. He blood coursed rapidly. This one would not get away! If Rein and Matecol did not slay it, he would! Drawing his rapier, he slowly advanced down the ridge, approaching Farrel from the back.

Farrel sized up his opponent. Drawing a dirk, he moved from side to side. Quickly, he slashed at Matey with his sword, a broad sweep at the neck.

((Tataroo's retreating. It's Matey who's challenging ya'. ))
The sword came, and Matey parried it in one of his favorite fashions--using his studded belt as a bat and smacking the blade away.

Rein ignored Matey's rant, and simply sighed, "You're all the same." He muttered. He held his sheild at shoulder length and held his blade up at an angle and was just about to start, when Vladis came charging into the scene. "What's wrong, cappy? You forget your skirt?" He said mockingly, clearly making fun of his rank. Then he noticed Farrel slash at Matey's neck, and Rein stepped in the way quickly, blocking the swipe with his shield, "It's not nice to attack those unaware." The black fox winked at him then moved back next to Matey, "Don't get used to it." He muttered.
Rein cracked his neck, made a circle with his one shoulder, and snarled. "Ready to dance with the devil?"
At that, Rein ran forward and slashed in a wide arc at Farrel's mid-section, then slashed upwards towards his neck. "Let's see how well you really fight with a blade."
OOC: Sorry... Bad post... In a hurry

Farrel immediately hit the ground, the blade sliced a bit off his ear. Leaping up, and jumping back, he tangled swords with his opponent. While their blades where engaged, he thrust at Reins abdomen with his dirk.

(sorry its short, not much to say now that Redclaw fled ) Valdis heard the insult and glared at Rein. Nearing were the fight was taking place, he stopped. He had a good sense of honor, and did not attack while the duel was taking place. "Don't worry foxy," he called mockingly, "if the martin chops off your ugly mug, I'll kill him and dance on both of your graves." He stood calmly, expecting the pine martin to die soon.

Matecol snarled at Rein, and was about to lunge at the fox and pine marten, intending to strangle them both. Instead, his focus locked on Valdis, and shifted his stance in mid-swing, bringing his belt around to snap out at the weasel.
"You won't be able to kill anyone if you're dead, weasel."
The challenge had nothing to do with Valdis himself, no matter that he was essentially a threat--Matecol was angered towards Rein especially for stealing a duel, but in his mind Valdis was the next best thing. "Have at ye'!"

With a flick of his rapier Valdis knocked Matecol's belt aside, sending away from him. "If that is how you want it stoat," he said, "you will die, no doubt from tripping on your own sword." Then he thrust his rapier at Matecol's midsection, testing his skills.
Trysta, who was still standing on the ridge called out to Zarek, "sir, Vladis went back to the battle and is fighting a stoat!"
Zarek sighed. "He is so quick tempered," Zarek said, "let us return as well, to make sure his head is not cut off."
Trysta and Zarek climbed down the ridge, approaching the fight. They drew their blades, in case they were attacked.

OOC: Redclaw, your first line was god-moding... You cant say you knocked her belt aside. You can say you aimed to, though

OOC: I don't mind, I can still work with it, as long as Matey doesn't get skewered while I'm not typing. ^^"
The stoat nearly cackled with scorn. He was fighting an opponent with a rapier! This would be so simple!
...And so boring.
"Make me laugh," holwed Matey as he slipped to the side and brought his belt-club down in both paws, "Oh please, just make me laugh! Whoohaha!"

Valdis saw Matey bring down the belt toward him. He quickly sprung to the side, avoiding it in the nick of time. "Ye won't be laughing when I slash yer throat fur-brain!" yelled Valdis. He jumped into the air, coming down with his rapier pointed at Mateys head.
