Theurl was busy playing in the leaves. He laughed as he would throw them up and watch them flutter down around him. He loved the earthy smell of the leaves and the coldness of fall. He was supposed to be inside getting ready for the afternoon session of school, but the leaves were calling him out to come play. He couldn't help that. He loved it when some one would rake them all nice and neat, that made them better to jump in.

(Hope you don't mind Travi popping his annoying face in here to play..  ..)
Travi rested casually in the boughs of a shedding chestnut tree, finishing off the latest treat he had snuck from the busy kitchen. He felt the cool breeze make the leaves flutter off the tree as he wiped the rest of the tart off his whiskers. His season was always the tastiest! He heard laughing underneath the tree and he looked below himself to see little Theurl playing among the leaves. He briefly heard the last call for all the younger beasts in the Abbey to come in to class, but he ignored it. He rarely ever went to class any way. We continued to watch the mouse babe play in the leaves until he could with stand it no longer. He REALLY wanted to play in the leaves too...He he used the springiness of the bough to jump off and he circled hims arms around his knees as he shouted, "GERONIMO!!!!!!" and cannonballed into the large pile of leave with a PHOOF and leaves were sent everywhere. Travi popped his head out of the now slightly smaller pile and winked at Theurl. "Ahoy matey! Great day ain't it!"

The bright sun gleamed down as Tindle trudged out of the kitchen and thought Wot a rotten day! I can't even get er bite ter eat! Robbin' won't get me no were ever since Abbot made me promise I wouldn't!
He stepped out on the lawn and saw how much fun Travi was having. Instantly he bolted to the leaves; his spirits rising with joy!
"Tis a wonderful day!"
